They offer nearly everything and carry more 5.11 and proper cloth gear than any place I have seen locally. Staff was very fiendly and will to order what ever I needed that they did not have in stock. A 10% discount for LEO’s is a nice bonus. They do not carry firearms or body armor so if you are looking for that you will need to go else where.

Barrett S. and I rolled in here to pick up supplies for a costume. Perret’s carries a varied selection of patches and pins from WWI and forward and(modern) uniforms for all the branches + police and fire fighters. The man working the counter wasn’t terribly helpful but encouraged us come back the next day when the guy who knew everything about the patches and pins would be there. Scoping out the rest of the store they have very good selection of camping supplies and outdoor gear. I’m a geocacher so I picked up a few ammo cans to convert into caches on the cheap. All in all less expensive than the big box outdoor supply stores with a nice assortment of military stuff tossed in. Mommy notes: Packed store leave the stroller at home, carries kid tents and outdoor clothes

I drove down from baton rouge in hopes of finding a decent(cheap) military surplus store. If you would like to buy camo gear for paintball then this might be your spot. However, it was mostly new items for regular marked prices. Not impressed — when I asked for prepper gear they guy took me to camping equipment. This place ain’t cheap & so they give police & firefighters a discount but none to military like that makes sense(army surplus). They do have a few 5.11 tactical items & knife collection/taters but overall I wouldn’t shop here. just couldn’t find anything I was looking for.

It has been years since I have been to a surplus store, and I was not disappointed. They have a great selection of both formal and casual wear, gear, knives, food, and other goodies. Anything special that you may be looking for can be ordered. They also have a good selection of school uniforms and Boy Scout supplies. Will be returning here before going to big names stores for similar stuff. Enjoyed the experience with the friendly staff.

This is a fantastic Army Surplus store. They carry mostly new military and tactical items, but you can easily order vintage replicas from them. They do have a small section of interesting old items. I just purchased a great canvas pouch from Eastern Europe here. Their prices are reasonable. They have quite a large selection of 5.11 Tactical clothes and gear as well as tons of Topper brand cargos. By the way they can quickly make embroidered name patches here and they also screen print in house.

What you know uh-bout that P38? … For nonmilitary folks like me, it’s a can opener. At first glance it looks like a razor blade. Admittedly, I made the trek here with my dad. Hearing him ask for things sounded as if he and the sales rep were talking in code and discussing something of major importance. Needless to say this trip was enlightening. This store carries a ton of stuff that you would typically buy from a sporting goods for a fraction of the price. Other items were more commonly used in the military but could serve civilian purposes. There were many things I would use and would definitely want to try. As for the can opener, I’ll hope I never have the need for one. But should you decide to bring a ton of cans into the wilderness or find yourself without electricity, stop on in Perrret’s and get yourself one. All for the low price of .50 cents!

I believe Perret’s is the last army surplus store in the metropolitan area. If you have never been to a surplus store, you are truly missing out. Besides actual military surplus items, Perret’s sells new clothing, boots, watches, sunglasses and other outdoor type items. My favorite thing to buy here are the ammo cans. The cans are waterproof and very sturdy. Besides storing ammunition, they can be used to store any valuables you don’t want ruined in case of flooding. I recommend getting the SAW can as opposed to the more common .50BMG can. The SAW can is slightly larger, but nowhere near as large as the mortar can. Everyone should have a few of these. If you’re one of those nuts who likes to bury stuff in their yard, you can find supplies at Perret’s. They even have freeze dried food for backpacking or domesday preparedness. To summarize, check out Perret’s, it is cool.

This is overall a pretty decent military surplus and outdoor store with a good selection of several items. It is a decent sized store for military surplus and they have most of the basic items. Sadly you just don’t find large quantities of cool WWII stuff very often in stores like this anymore and I miss the days of my childhood when that stuff was everywhere in places like this. They still have a good supply of more contemporary items and you certainly can find all sorts of things that can be multi-tasked for various uses. One item of particular importance for those of us that like to attend outdoor festivals is they have a good selection of military boonie hats which are some of the best hats you can possibly wear during outdoor festivals in NOLA in my experienced opinion as they work great for protecting you from sun and rain.
