This is located inside the la Quinta hotel. Cold and rainy didn’t want to drive and grab dinner so decided to try this place. It’s ok. 53 for 4 meals. Son got Philly po boy he said steak was rubbery. Hubby and other son said shrimp po boy was good. I got chicken parm. Wasn’t very good. Sauce was super dark(think canned wolf chili). Chicken was tough. Pasta was ok. Bread they didn’t provide butter. Don’t think it was worth 50 bucks. Olive garden would have been better

Great atmosphere! Great food! Great time! Stopped in NO for an over night stay discovered this little gem nearby because I was dying to try the famous muffuletta sandwich. Their take on the meal was exactly what I was looking for. Nick, the bartender, was a cool guy. Made a stiff drink to add to the meal as well. Definitely made the stay worthwhile.

The chicken parm is awesome. The food is really excellent. The service is good too. I always look forward to staying at the la Quinta so that I can eat at Messinas.

I was skeptical about a small hotel bar and grill. After my many stays here, I finally trusted the Unilocalers and gave it a shot. As usual, they were spot on. The Italian selection is excellent. I mean, I heard Nick call the spaghetti sauce gravy. He knows his Italian. Give it a shot.

Oh my!!! I’ve eaten all over the Gulf Coast. The food is fantastic! We had the red beans & rice, catfish plate and chicken Cesar. It could NOT have been better! It was seasoned perfectly. Hidden Jewel!

One of those hidden gems you’re glad you stumbled into. Setting up shop at a LaQuinta Inn in the«Airport District» of NOLA, we were very glad we wandered into Messina’s for cocktails and dinner before bed and an early flight to Nassau, Bahamas the next morning. We had Top Shelf Margaritas, mixed by Nick, and a bottle of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay. Margaritas were so good we accidentally had 6 of them(there were 4 in our party) and we were happy to see a good selection of wine by the bottle, not that we are connoisseurs by any means. We started off with Mozzarella Cheese Sticks with the Homemade Marinara Sauce then dove into Spaghetti and Meatballs and Red Beans and Rice. Everything was Amazing! The Spaghetti and Meatballs were our favorite but we pretty much licked the bowl with the Red Beans and Rice as well. Great atmosphere, hospitable staff and a product and service that will have you wanting to go back for more! P. S. Smart Phone Users; Ask how to access the jukebox from your phone. It’s pretty high-tech! ;)

We spent a week in New Orleans, trying out the food in the best rated restaurants(some really great dishes). Our flight back got cancelled and we made a panicked reservation at LA Quintana, a budget hotel. We decided to try the hotel bar and grill, not expecting anything more than something to tide us over for the night. One of the drinks weren’t to my mother’s satisfaction(she ordered a hurricane, but didn’t like strong sweet drinks), BAM our server immediately replaced it with one specifically catered to her tastes. I’ve never had better chicken parmesan, or a better cooked catfish. The bread pudding was caramelized on top and had the perfect custard texture, leagues better than any we had at the touristy restaurants. Why this isn’t a stand alone resturant, I will never know. Oh, and it’s open till 11pm.

Let’s try the«never open bar and grill»… 4th time trying to grab a bite to eat at the laQuinta hotel and they’re missing a cook… They close too early as well to be named«late night». The staff continues to be unapologetic about the inability to provide service.

Perfect! Got in late and stayed at la Quinta. Messina’s is in the lobby. I got the crawfish étouffée with a catfish fillet on top and had a couple Abita Ambers with it. I wasn’t starving but… I ate that étouffée like I was. Good stuff!!!

You won’t be disappointed eating here. The spaghetti and meatballs, cheeseburger, crawfish étouffée, catfish platter, and most of all the shrimp po-boy are all fanastic. You won’t find a better shrimp po-boy in the area. The size of the po-boy is enormous as I would have to say it was about eight inches of New Orleans French Bread and stuffed with shrimp. If you have a car. go here. However, they open up at four o’clock in the afternoon which maybe be late for those of you who want po-boys for lunch.

Ok, I’ve been here twice now and have to say the food is amazing. First time had the spaghetti and thought I couldn’t finish it at first glance but once I took that first bite, that was that, it was gone. Second time, I got the muffuletta and I was impressed. Both times good. Messina’s has a clean atmosphere, meaning no smoking, which is great, plus free wi-fi as well. Definitely the place to come to watch a game or a stop before ur flight since its so close to the airport. I will definitely be back soon.

Omg… This place is amazing! Kenner’s best kept secret. Its located in the la quinta hotel lobby. Food is the best within 50 miles! I recommend the red beans and rice. Nick is the owner/bartender and one of the coolest people you will ever meet. Definitely coming back.
