Couldn’t disagree more with the first reviewer!!! The house we rented was not only disgusting but the customer service from Candice was worse. We rented 4 different places through this agent for a week last August for a family reunion. The home I rented was the Carrick house on the beach at goose rocks. The location is perfect, however that is it! We arrived late Saturday. Trash from previous tenants overloaded the bins outside. Garage is locked so you can’t put inside. Animals ripped it to shreds and had to start our vacation picking up the front lawn. When my daughter went to shower the handle pulled out of the wall. Called and the agency came and fixed it. The house itself was filthy. Dishwasher was filled with dirty dishes, as was all the cabinets. Called Candice again and she did offer to send a cleaning crew for the day, however we had a family picture planned and decided we could not waste an entire day while they cleaned a house that should have been cleaned before we got there. Ended up buying plastic utensils and plates to use for the week. Brought my own sheets but so much sand in the beds it came right through. Carpet throughout is extremely old and smelled of mildew. This intensified DRASTICALLY when a major storm went through. We had to close the windows, and the mildew smell was so bad my children were having coughing attacks. Trash was never picked up so my husband put it in the basement so animals wouldn’t get to it. Smell from the mold/​mildew in the basement is DANGEROUS and should be addressed!!! Candice informed me it wasn’t a problem! I disagree!! That night fought with a skunk who was in the basement trying to get into the kitchen. Woke to an entire house that was sprayed by the skunk, because it was stuck down there. We had called Candice AGAIN (third time in the week with issues) She said she would get an exterminated over the following day. In the mean time she sent her assistant over to help with the smell. When she arrived, she asked for the biggest pots we had so she could boil vinegar. When I went under the filthy cabinets I found a pasta pot, unfortunately it was filled with crusted old pasta stuck to it. Her assistant couldn’t have been lovelier. She spent hours boiling vinegar to try to get the skunk smell out and repeatedly apologized for the state of the home. Candice was planning on sending the exterminator over on Friday. We hadn’t heard the skunk, so I told her not to bother, we were leaving early Saturday, she could do it then. When we checked out from this horrible vacation, Candice couldn’t have been more combative. (How those girls work for her is beyond me! They are far to nice!) Her reasoning was that it was an old house.(Old is fine, filthy is not!!) She informed me there IS wildlife in Maine (thanks for the info, but I prefer my wildlife OUTSIDE the home!) When asking for a refund she told me it was like going to a restaurant, eating the food and THEN saying it wasn’t good. Funny I thought the 3 calls during the week would tip her off. Our family spent A LOT of money on this house as well as the other 3 we rented. One would think she would be a little more professional.

I wanted to take a couple of minutes to write a recommendation for this Kennbunkport, ME, vacation rental company. Ultimately we decided to stay in the mid-​coast region instead, but while we were looking for a property in the area Candice was a great help in getting me information and narrowing down my choices based on our large party size. I would not hesitate to work with them in the future for our Kennebunkport vacation rental needs.
