Kennebunk Gallery Motel & Cottages

Sarah and I stayed at cottage #2 for a couple days in August.
The Kennebunk Gallery is in Kennebunk, about 10 minutes from I-​95 and 15 minutes from downtown Kennebunkport and 15 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from many antique places and 2 minutes from Dairy Queen (now featuring iceless soft drinks).
It is run by a charming family, who appear to do everything themselves. They keep the place well.
Each cottage appears to have a different configuration from the outside. They are lined up about a car’s width from each other and range in size from small to tiny. #2 was the tiniest, about 15×12 feet inside including bedroom, kitchenette, and bath. It also had a small covered front porch with two sitting chairs. The furnishings inside were mostly dated, but functional. There was only a shower in the bathroom, and it had very weak water pressure. The mis-​matched towels in the bathroom added to the charm as well. There was a in-​wall air-​conditioner in the main area, but we didn’t need to use it. The walls were rather thin, but we had no problem with noise from the neighbors. The bed was thin and not very comfortable, and neither Sarah nor I got a completely restful night’s sleep.
The Kennebunk Gallery would keep the kids entertained. They boast the largest pool in the Kennebunk area. We did not perform an independent survey, but it is a rather large pool for a hotel. Several lounge chairs surround the pool, but some were too dirty to sit in. Also available is a volleyball net and various lawn toys for kids. They will also lend you a beach pass for a small deposit.
In the end, it will provide a rare lodging value in the Kennebunk area!
