I just want to give a big shout-​out to Monique at Zeka Salon. I recently moved to the neighborhood a few blocks from the salon and was looking for a new stylist after a few so-​so (and pricey) experiences at Gene Juarez. Monique was not only gracious, easygoing and professional, but she gave me the best haircut I’ve had since moving to Washington from the Bay Area last year. She knew exactly what would flatter me and took the time to discuss my lifestyle and what would work for me with three little kids at home. I could not be happier and can’t wait to book my next appointment. Thank you again, Monique!

So as others have said Cecilia is awesome. She is so welcoming and personable. She made me feel comfortable right off the bat and it was a new experience for that could have been easily seen as uncomfortable or awkward. No once did I feel that way. I had no intention of scheduling to come back again (I had a groupon) but made my next appointment before leaving.
Love this place and recommend it! You pay high prices because they are worth it

Zeka Salon and Spa has a wonderful atmosphere with excellent customer service. It’s very clean and their renovations have made the salon look awesome!
I’ve been going to the salon for years for waxing services and Celia does an AMAZING job!
Within the last year and a half I started getting my hair done by Kim. She does a great cut/​color (I’ve had her do highlights/​ombré and all-​over color). Several times my hair was being a pain and she made sure that I didn’t walk out of the salon until it was perfect.

Just gotta say, Celia is a legend.

This place is amazing! I came here with a Groupon for a brazilian wax, and had an appt with Cecilia. The salon was clean and nicely decorated, and the waxing room was so spa-​like and relaxing (compared to places that have a more medical vibe). My esthetician suggested I try sugaring instead of regular soft or hard wax and I’m so thankful for the suggestion because it was seriously the least painful wax I’ve ever had. And she was so nice and fun to talk to, totally made me feel at ease.
Definitely going to try some of their other services.

I have been coming to Zeka for the last six months and I’ve been very happy! Emily has been doing my cut and color and has a terrific eye for color. She also expertly handles my fine, wavy hair. Celia is fantastic for waxes — my brows never looked better!

Daisy is no longer at the salon and they currently do not offer nail services at this time. I was told that they are looking for new people. Kind of wish they let her clients know that she left; instead I called with hopes of a nail appointment for a party in a few days, and had to find someone else on short notice (which is difficult since I’m pretty particular).
I did get sugaring by Zhenya recently and it was amazing! She is sooo nice and super sweet. I’ve gone to her twice now. Id never had sugaring before but she was so great in explaining everything and walking me through the process. I am definitely going back for a 3^rd time and will continue to do so.

I had my first brazilian sugaring (waxing) here the other day and I am SO impressed. I’m a «big girl» as it were, and Zhenya was Professional, friendly and made me much more comfortable about the whole situation than I could possibly imagine. The ambiance is very nice, and everyone was very friendly. I scheduled my next appointment before leaving, and am also excited to try other services at Zeka, too. I will probably be a long-​time customer. Try it!

I continue to be impressed with Zeka Salon and Spa.
I know with 100% certainty that I can sit down in anyones chair and get what I need done. I have no hesitation in making an appointment. I usually see Monique — she does a fantastic job. The last time I was in I ended up seeing Emily because a regular of Mo’s needed to get her hair done for a Homecoming dance. I was totally at ease because I have been going to the salon long enough to know that they are going to get it right. If for any reason something was wrong they would rectify it (this has never happened though…).
I will continue to be a regular because of the quality of work, the customer service, and the customized attention.
Yay.

I visited this spa for the first time with a Living Social voucher for the «Zeka Exclusive Clarisonic Pedicure».
This was a fairly average pedicure and the Clarisonic treatment was kind of a gimmick… didn’t do anything for me. The scrubby attachment actually hurt when it was used on my legs. The paraffin was brought out in bags that were placed over my feet, but at other spas I was also given heated footies over the top of them… not here.
The nail shaping and polish application were fine, but the Clarisonic extras absolutely did not make this worth $ 60; there was nothing about this pedicure that made it any better than pedicures I get elsewhere for $ 20. I would happily return if it weren’t for the outrageous pricing, but for $ 60 I’ll pass.

I came here on a Living Social for a Clarisonic Pedicure. This is supposed to scrub away the callouses on your feet.
My heels are horrible because I don’t wear shoes in the summer.
The salon ambiance is nice as was the technician. I liked the massage and scrub, and paraffin treatment.
The normal price for this pedicure is $ 60! This would never be worth that amount of money! I’ve had pumice that work much better on my cracked heels.
She did not file/​cut some of my nails evenly-​my right big toe was rounded and my left one square and too long. She did not allow the polish to dry long enough before putting on my flip flops so a couple smudged, but she happily fixed it.
I would have given 4 stars if I didn’t have to go home and re-​shape some of my toenails. I also noticed some of the polish didn’t quite reach the edges of the nail.
For the $ 30 I paid for the pedi via Living Social, it was fine. I would come back for a $ 30 pedicure.

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! This is so close to my house, how have I never known about it? First time visit and I am more than satisfied. The staff is polite and professional, the salon is relaxing and beautifully designed, and my hairstylist Kim had a great personality and gave me the exact cut and style I was looking for. I highly recommend her and next time I get my hair done I will go out of my way to schedule it with Kim. I highly recommend Salon Zeka, so often I feel like I sacrifice quality for a low price, but here I got both a great cut and a great deal. Thanks!

Yesterday was my first time at Zeka’s but it was only because Emily is there. I have had some terrible experiences with bad hair stylists and Emily is the only person I’ve completely trusted to do what’s best for me and my hair.
I am in a wedding in a short 3 weeks and I had enough confidence in Emily to walk in and let her do what she thought would work best — and it looks fabulous. I would recommend her services to absolutely anyone looking for a new stylist. She’s knowledgeable and understands current trends and styles. She also knows when to push the limits and when to stay conservative — she’s great!
As for the facility itself, it’s big, clean and has a great atmosphere.

Zeka kept their word, and honored my expired Groupon. Ended up having a fantastic experience. Skilled nail technicians (for the pedicure and manicure both!) who were so friendly and considerate. They both went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable, and that that that I was being provided with a service that I wanted. Great conversation! I plan to come back. :)

Celia does the most amazing eyelashes! She is nice, professional and does an amazing job. My before and after pictures are insane! I will be recommending her to friends and family!
I got these before I was about to deliver my second baby to help make me feel prettier and for pictures. Celia met with me ahead of time to make sure it would work, since I couldn’t lay on my back. It was such an amazing experience — and I will be back! I also heard from a friend that she does waxing and does a really good job — so I will be doing that next also!

I got a living social deal for a massage here. It was good, but not great. Kind of like getting a massage for relaxation rather than truly working the tension from your muscles. I love that they use a hot, wet towel to wipe the oil from your hands/​feet at the end — that was a great touch. I’ll certainly keep this place in mind if I need some stress relief or whatever, but when it comes to working those knots out, I’ll go back to my regular place.

Super easy to find, cheaper than just about any other positively reviewed salon I saw, and just as good as the expensive ones.
I moved here from Boston a few months ago and have been in desperate need of a haircut since before my move. I’m embarrassed to say it had been well over six months, my hair was dry and split and all manner of lengths, and my bangs were… well, nonexistent.
Since I work downtown, I thought, search for places near the office, walk down after work, and bus home. But EVERY downtown salon was far out of my price range. So I searched for places near my home in Lake Forest Park. Came across Salon Zeka, and got a convenient evening appointment for early in the week.
Already looking pretty good to me: convenient location, evening hours, an appointment two days after I called… I’m a pretty happy gal.
Then Monique happened. And she was AWESOME. Super friendly, casual, genuine. Listened to what I wanted, didn’t balk at the shameful condition of my hair, and it was much quicker than I ever thought it would be. She only charged me the minimum amount for a cut, which I thought was generous, as my hair couldn’t have been the easiest case she’d ever dealt with.
I’d already decided I was definitely going back, then yesterday I got a thank-​you in the mail, for $ 10 off my next cut (what!!), and a note from Monique saying thank you for coming in, she hopes I enjoy my upcoming trip back East and that I have a great time with my sisters.
Honestly a better experience than I’ve had even in more upscale and expensive places back home.

My wife enjoys getting her hair cut here. I bought her a gift certificate from there for an occasion and she has been able to use it multiple times.
She is picky when it comes to her hair. She had the same hair stylist for years and was willing to drive over 2 hours round trip. I am grateful my wife found this new location; it was always a drag when she would have to leave to get her hair done…
