S & S Muffler

I went to this shop after being recommended by a friend. I made the appointment for a Thursday back in June (now it’s October). The guy called on Thursday morning and said he was behind, and asked me to come the next day. I had no problem with this because he mentioned that he didn’t like to be rushed — which I liked.
I took my 2011 GMC Sierra there that Friday, for a Flowmaster Super 44 muffler, 3″ pipes (what he recommended for better gas milage and sound, unlike Meineke) and Stainless Steel tips (he recommended not to put on chrome because it would fade out). He was sort of a dry guy, but not at all rude.
I got a call a couple hours later saying it was almost done, but the company who makes the tips sent him the wrong tips and refused to put them on because they aren’t up to his standards. But within 4 hours, my truck was done and sounds awesome, and has held up great. He was obviously very helpful and thorough!

Horrible service. Spent 30 minutes going over the details of what needed to be done to my Mercedes on a Tuesday. He agreed to the work and gave me a guesstimate of the charges which I was comfortable with. Went to drop the car off in the morning on Wednesday and was approached immediately after I got out of the car only to be told that he was not going to work on the car after all with no explanation as to why. Thus would have been the first time I was going to use this shop but after this experience I will never consider using this shop nor would I recommend it to anyone I know. Stay away.
