Hilander Dental

I have bad anxiety when it comes to the dentist. Dr. Young has put me at ease every time. He is very kind, informative and gentle. I am sure the other doctors are too. I’m putting this as 3 stars because the ladies at the front desk are terrible. They are rude, not helpful, and not kind. They make me want to throw myself off a bridge. Overall, if you go in, ask for Dr. Jordan Young if you have anxiety like me and try not to strangle the ladies at the front desk.

I really like the dentists themselves but I had such a terrible time with their receptionists that I will not go back.
I had an appointment on a Monday and Friday they called me 6+ times while I was at work and left voicemails that if I didn’t respond to their calls by 1pm that day they would forfeit my appointment the following Monday. I had had problems with the receptionists before– but this was the final straw for me. I didn’t like how I was threatened of my appointment being «forfeited» due to me being unable to call back while I was at work. I thought this was very inappropriate voicemails to leave and I have never had a dentist office do this before. Normally they call and leave a voicemail to remind you of an appointment and leave it at that. When I called back to cancel my appointment and tell them I was disappointed with the voicemails I received they laughed at me and hung up when I said I wouldn’t be coming back. Like I said– dentists were awesome, receptionists ruined it for me!

I am very nervous about dentists, but decided to try Hilander Dental after my granddaughter gave them a great recommendation. Dr. Pond and his staff were very nice, very understanding of my nervousness, very gentle. I really liked that they scheduled the cleaning at the same time as the x-​ray and exam, thereby cutting down on the number of visits I’ll need. Plus there was a discount for cash and seniors! (I stopped at 4 stars just because he’s a dentist — I don’t think I could say «woo hoo» about a dentist.)
