We used Francesca Zito of SansomZito to design a garage for us. Initially, she was very friendly, approachable, organized, creative, and punctual — liked her a lot. As the project progressed, we discovered that the garage she designed resulted in flooding into our home(holy crap!) We approached her about it, and her reply was that she has a family emergency and can’t help us. I can understand when there are family emergencies, but you can’t just abandon a customer with a flooding house; the least she could have done is defer to a colleague to try to resolve the issue for her(1 star off). Francesca is also not a licensed architect. It didn’t matter to us initially, as long as she can get the job done, but she ended up outsourcing some of the structural plans to someone else who was licensed. This just meant more money on our part. I wish she was more upfront with her lack of licensure(1 star off). If you go to see a doctor and find out later that he is unlicensed and need to pay additional money to see someone licensed, you would be pretty annoyed too. And if your doctor has a family emergency, the office tries to re-schedule you with another doctor, right? No one tells you, «Too bad! You just have to deal with your green phlegm/yellow vomit/magenta diarrhea on your own!» Now I know my example seems to be coming from left field, but having a flooding house is pretty much like having house diarrhea…
