We love the food, love the owners, love the employees! We’ve been frequenting Don Taco for years now. It’s very good, very consistent, and always fast. This is good family Tex-Mex. My son and I love the beef tacos and the girls go for quesadillas typically. Have a beer-rita, some really good Tex-Mex, and a seat on the patio! This opinion is coming from a life-long Texan that loves good Tex-Mex and spicy food.

Great Tex-Mex grill, wide menu, everything looks appetizing but only had the Fajita Nachos Supreme today, will have to come back again to try more!

Meh. Not good, not bad. I had the build your own platter and got two beef tacos, a cheese enchilada, and rice and beans. Rice and beans were typical, cheese enchiladas were plain but good, and the tacos were… store bought taco shells(you know the kind) filled with the norm. Overall nothing special, probably won’t come back.

We love this place for so many reasons. They have amazing food. Their quest and guacamole are my favorites. Their margaritas are delicious and so reasonably priced and the staff is constant and reliable. They know us by now and always make us feel welcome. Great patio too!

My son had a procedure at a nearby pediatric dentist. Had to have IV sedation, so he couldn’t eat 8 hours prior to his 12:00 procedure. We didn’t eat either because we didn’t think it was fair to eat in front of him while he couldn’t eat. The boy loves to eat, so I knew it would be a rough morning. Here we are at the dentist, it’s 1:00 and he’s having his procedure done. Mom and Dad starving. They act like son will be out for the count for a few hours, so no bueno on going out to eat. Hangry Dad decides to go search for food while Starving Mom stays and waits. Sounds good bring me back anything. In comes Don Taco, husband gets 9 tacos. 9 tacos sounds like a lot, but we haven’t ate since 10 pm that previous night. 3 fish tacos, 3 al pastor tacos, and 3 chicken tacos. I ate an al pastor, fish, and a chicken taco right then. I didn’t care for the fish. Tilapia is my least favorite fish and I didn’t care for it on the taco. The al pastor wasn’t bad, but not good either. The best was the chicken taco. So flavorful. If I known at the time of the chicken tacos I would’ve ate them all.(Chicken tacos at the bottom of the bag) I was so hungry I could’ve eaten my right arm and given it 5 stars. I later ate another chicken taco huddled in the corner of my kitchen. cold… and it was still good. My husband decides he wants to eat here again Easter for lunch. Was the chicken taco that damn good? Or were we just Starvin Marvins? This visit I get the tacos al carbon and he gets the chicken tacos. Chicken tacos and the al carbon were decent. They can keep the fish and al pastor. Get the chicken taco.

This is one of my favorite go to places for TexMex. I’ve been eating at Don Taco since they first opened and I’ve tried just about everything they offer. My favorites are the brisket Tacos, shrimps Salad, shrimps quesadillas, followed by the Steak Tacos. My kids love the queso so they often get cheese enchiladas, nachos, or just chips and queso. On a warm summer night, you can beat a cold beverage and a dinner on their patio. Theses guys are big Texas Rangers fans so watch for beer specials during games, especially when the Rangers are hitting home runs.

How can I describe DT? it’s not fast food it’s not your hole in the wall taco joint, it’s not a fancy Mexican Restaurant. I guess the best way to describe it is as a Middle class neighborhood fast fix for all people. The food is well priced and you can have a beer or Rita and it won’t break the bank. I have had a couple things here but the best deal on the menu is the tostadas for $ 2.50 your choice of meat. Both chicken and beef fajita salads are just the right size and enough meat for a meal. It’s a family ran franchise both the son and dad are friendly and the old man makes a special hot sauce you have to ask for. This is only for the peeps that like a double extra burn because it’s pretty tasty and it will make you sweat. I wish they would open a little earlier for breakfast because 8 is to late, but like I said this place is in suburbia and not a working class hood. Stop in grab a drink you will be pleasantly surprised. Hidden gems Carnitas and breakfast burrito ask them to hold the beans.

I love this place! My girlfriend took me there for breakfast last week. I have family in this area so I will make sure and stop by when I’m in town. Great authentic taste, as I grew up eating REALMEXICANFOOD. The staff was very friendly and the food came out FAST!

Decided to try Don Taco after reading and hearing all the positive comments about this place. And to my surprise, I was very disappointed. As soon as I stepped into this establishment, it was very loud. All three TVs sounded as if they were on full blast, kitchen workers are shouting back and forth to each other(keep in mind that the kitchen is not concealed), and a man calling out order numbers, over a microphone, to pick-up their meal. Ordering food was a hassle, I had to look at a big bulletin and decide quickly on what I wanted to eat on the spot, because there were other people in-line behind me. The cashier, Jesus, was very informative and helpful on helping me decide on what to eat. After ordering, I sat down and waited for my number to be called over the speaker, it was very difficult to hear over all the noise. When my food came out, I looked very simple and unfresh. My food looked like something I could have made at home. The flour tortillas were not handmade or fresh, the rice had no flavor, and the cheese tasted like packaged supermarket cheese. The beef was a bit greasy and oily, but not bad. I couldn’t finish my dinner, due to the bland taste. I’ve experienced better«authentic» Mexican food with cheaper pricing and more flavor. I won’t be visiting Don Taco again. Save your time and money.

Extremely delicious grilled chicken quesadilla. Everything is fresh and authentic. Guacamole was great. Refried beans had really good flavor. The rice was a little over-spiced for me. Food was made-to-order fresh and fast. Friendly staff as well. This might be our new hunger-fighting-quick-go-to from now on! – Update — We had Don Taco again for dinner last night and it was delish! The rice wasn’t as spicy. I thought it was JUST right. Upgrading from 4 to 5 stars.

Amazing, authentic Mexican food. I say Mexican because most Texas, Mexican restaurants are more tex-mex than Mexican… food smothered in queso and other over the top sauces that make me sick. This place is exactly the opposite. My wife and I bought a house just around the corner and I’d say we probably ate here 10 times in the 3 weeks or so we were moving in and getting the house situated. Carnitas, al pastor, lengua, chicken tortilla soup, and the list goes on. Their authentic street tacos are close to what I grew up eating in Southern California. Corn tortillas, cilantro and white onion… that’s it! It’s funny because the first time we ordered tacos they made them«gringo» style… flour tortilla, lettuce, tomatoes, and nasty queso. We went back to the counter and told them we wanted authentic tacos and they were happy to remake our order. Their breakfast menu is also in point. Chorizo, bacon, ham, and potato with cheese and egg tacos and burritos are delicious. The staff is always very nice and helpful no matter how busy or slow things are. We will be customers for life.

Don Taco is a great tex mex style restaurant with the best service I have ever experienced. Their chicken quesadillas and brisket tacos are very good. Their is not table service, but don’t think that doesn’t mean that somebody won’t come to check on your table. I order to go 4 – 5 times per month and have never regret spending a single dollar there. Don Taco is a five star restaurant for its kind.

The food quality is good. But our to-go order was all sorts of messed up. We ordered 8 breakfast burritos to go. We got 7.(Which they are big so we still had enough food) Only 2 of them were built correctly and that was the bean and cheese burritos. All of the egg burritos were wrong. They put beans on all of them even when container had scribbled on it no beans. I’d really give them a 2.5(rounding up to 3) due to how screwed up the order was. But if they had gotten that at least close to right is say 3.4−4 stars.
