The Colony House Bed & Breakfast

We have spent the night 3 – 4 times now and it’s simply fantastic every time! Clean, friendly and accommodating! The common room is full of board games and cozy seating. Close enough to downtown to walk but far enough to keep it’s charm! We recommend it to any guests we have visiting and locals looking for a night away!

I have stayed at here on 6 occasions when in Keene and rate it among the best B&Bs … comfortable beds, good showers, convenient location. Joslin and her subs know the area well and are very helpful in giving suggestions of things to see and do. Several good restaurants within a short walk.

The website doesn’t do this place justice. First of all, it is a very comfortable place to sleep. The beds and pillows are new and comfortable. Joslin, the innkeeper, does a great job making you feel at home without being too fussy.
The house itself is large and beautifully restored. She opted not to paper the walls in the busy patterns popular in period restorations, which I like. It’s a great mix of original-​restored and new, but everything is high quality.
It is not on the main street through Keene, but West st. is still pretty busy, so you can get a little traffic noise. Nothing that kept us awake though. We had a wonderful stay, would stay there again, and recommend it.
Oh, and I got to see the EF Lane rooms. Not as nice as this place.
