I typically order the spinach and chicken pizza. It’s not too greasy & not too much sauce is used, you don’t feel like you’re eating unhealthy when you’re eating their pizza. It’s light and very tasty. The salads are also huge and very good; worth the 8 bucks. Service is average. Only thing I would change is adding more volume to the crust. Other than that, I would recommend Athens. :)

The pizza is delicious Best in town. My personal favorite is there Greek salad with house dressing. The feta is creamy and sharp and the dressing tangy, oily, and so tasty. I’d go to Athens before ANY other pizza place to get my fix. My only complaint is delivery service, which about 60% of the the time forgets something. Usually it’s the little things they omit like sauces/dips, etc. We’re frequent flyers, ordering at least 2 times a month, and have found this very annoying. If it weren’t for the dozens of embarrassing calls to let them know they forgot a part of our order I’d totally be dropped 5 stars. Yum!

Our Chicago-an pastor swears by this place and so every year, after our retreat in Swanzey, NH, we pop over for pizza. I have to admit that I’m not a huge pizza fan to start with so I won’t be writing home about the pizza but here are some things I would write home about: + They are SO easy going with mix-and-matching their toppings. My boyfriend and I have pretty different topping preferences and for our small-size(10″) pizza, we chose the three topping option and they were totally cool with us doing 3 toppings on one side and 3 different toppings on the other side. MAJOR bonus points for this! + Their sweet potato fries are BOMB. They are everything a sweet potato fry should be and probably some of the best I’ve had. And a couple of other things: — I got a cheeseburger(in addition to our small pizza) and it had potential(soft fluffy bun, piping hot patty with melted provolone) but. with each bite, I kept being hit with a strong taste of gasoline and it was so off putting I couldn’t finish it. — On a neutral note, the personal 7″ is on pita bread rather than their regular dough. One of our party ordered it without knowing, even though it does say«Pita» on the size chart. They simply overlooked it. I definitely wouldn’t go out of my way and I might not order the pizza again, but I’ll definitely get the sweet potato fries when our church is back next year!

Wowsah! Roaming main on a Sunday night left few options in this quaint town. The streets were all but abandoned. A few diners were convenient enough but simply did not provide the enticement needed to enter in. Spying the Athens parking lot from a block or so away, I decided it was the least of the evils for my choices, but found inside no evil whatsoever! Greeted by friendly staff and the old leaderboard menu, your order is taken by a young and engaging staff while you watch pie artists go at their craft, somewhat reminiscent of Shakees. A few minutes later I was armed with a cup and a receipt and headed to a diner style booth where I parked and waited for sustenance. Holy smokes! The family size pizza was huge and the ingredients were plenty as well! Dough and sauce also provided an excellent palette for this work of art. Trod as I might, there was simply no way I would be able to finish off the family size pie, but I wanted to keep stuffing my face until I passed out into the remnants before me. Try the Athens special and take your mouth on a roller coaster ride through the highways of beef and sausage and byways of veggies and cheese. Enjoy!

Solid pizza for the Keene area. Picked up a small cheese for takeout towards the later end of Friday night after some bar hopping. Pizza was hot and very tasty, but pretty greasy. The crust didn’t have much flavor, but if I was in the Keene area again I would definitely stop here again.

Live in Boston, born and raised in Keene NH. Sorry Mom and Dad when my family visits Keene its tough not to stop at Athen’s first. The pizza, sweet potato fries, onion rings, greek salad and gyro are absolutely the best anywhere and cant satisfy the craving with any others. Im not alone, my wife and kids are also hooked. Now my parents meet us at Athens, at least they don’t have to feed us and if it wasn’t for Athens we wouldn’t be visiting Keene or them as much :) !! Nothing but LOVE. RIP: Andy

I ordered a pizza and was told it would be there in about thirty minutes. It showed up cold an hour later. So it’s okay if you’re someone who likes waiting twice as long as you’re told for cold pizza and bad service, but I would not recommend it to anyone else. There are too many pizza places in town that make much better food and do a much better job all around.

I messed up ordering from the Keene, NH location when I actually wanted to pick up in Leominster, MA. They were very understanding and I hope someone else bought my pizza, because they gave me a full refund for my errant order. Which I’m sure was ready by the time it was to be picked up. You should definitely buy your meal from Athens.

Pizza is excellent buy chicken kabob dinner and Gyro dinner are my favorites. Free refills on soft drinks is a plus while you wait for your food. Free parking spots are nice to have.

We just got married in Hinsdale NH, 20 mins outside of Keene, NH. We decided to stay downtown Keene at the Marriott, on our way through we saw this place Athens Pizza. We decided to head in and check it out due to many restaurant closing early. After placing our order, we mentioned our recent marriage, the owner Jimmy gave us our meal on the house! The food was amazing! Authentic antipasto and Italian subs, couldn’t ask for more. This is definitely the best pizza\sub shop in Keene. Definetly a must when visiting keene! Thanks Jimmy, much love from New Mexico!

Food is good but their delivery people suck. 3 times now I’ve waited over an hour only to find out they are lost, in a town outside of Keene. I have a simple Keene address. Sitting here now over 90 minutes after I’ve ordered waiting for a pizza. It’s not rocket science folks.

Was up in Keene for a night and had a great time eating at Athens Pizza House. The staff was extremely friendly and wanted to do anything they could to make our experience great. We ordered one of their daily specials — a half BBQ Pulled Pork pizza, and a half buffalo chicken pizza. I was with 3 other hungry guys and we didn’t know if one pizza would be enough. It was plenty– we were so satisfied and so full afterwards. The full family size pizza and 4 beers only came out to about $ 7 a person, unbelievable! If I’m ever back up in Keene, I’ll definitely come back to Athens.

Great pizza. Each slice is about 1″ thick, not quite deep dish but close. My wife who grew up near Chicago enjoyed it quite a bit and usually she doesn’t like pizza anywhere. The toppings were good, especially the sausage which had a decent amount of spiciness without being overbearing. Tasted like what I would expect from a good pizza. The crust is decently thick too so no worries of toppings flopping off. You can eat this without having to fold it up or use a plate. The interior is similar to a fast food restaurant where you order at the counter and seat yourself. It seemed like a good place to take the kids after a baseball game. Everything looked clean. Prices were appropriate for the quality and seemed fair. Overall I had no complaints and would absolutely eat here again.

Let me preface this review by making something clear: I am by NO means a pizza snob. However, I do have in my mind what I consider a «good» pizza and Athens is the closest I can find in Keene. It reminds me of South Buffalo’s ‘Imperial Pizza’, which is what Heaven’s cafeteria would serve on pizza day. Athens gives you the right amount of sauce and lightly browned cheese piled on a crust of perfect thickness! The pizza is a bit expensive but SO worth it, even their smallest pizza is enough for my fatty appetite! They have a decent wait too, so it is best to call ahead.

It’s *damn* good pizza(filling, really tasty. Something awesome is up with their sauce and it’s satisfyingly cheesy)… It’s *cheap*(! [under $ 20 for an 18″ pie]), and they’re open until 11pm every day except for Friday and Saturday when they’re open till midnight. Oh, and they offer gluten free crust(haven’t tried yet). Sweet find.

We just flew into Boston from Denver and drove up to Keene. We needed a place to eat and picked Athens because it was open and looked like we could get in and out fast The place looked like a typical Pizza place, but a little worn The staff was great We ordered 2 small pies and 114″ pie and the egg plant dinner The food came fast and was great. I ordered a pepperoni, sausage and Kielbasa pie It was fresh, well seasoned and completely gone in 10 min. We lucked out by stopping here and would recommend

Yum, yum, yummy, yum, yum. Athens is basically the only pizza place in Keene. Sure there are plenty of other actual pizza parlors, but none of them compare to Athens. We lived in Swanzey for over 4 years and were able to experience the friendliness and innovation of the Athens staff — they greet you with a smile, any time; they’re involved in the community; and they adjust to offer their same great tasting pizza to those who eat gluten free. My parents have lived all over the US, and they had Athens once while visiting me — they will tell you that Athens is in their top 3 pizza places ever. It’s that delicious. The only, ONLY, negative thing about Athens is their pricing. It is on the high end, especially the gluten free. But, since they have a monopoly on the Keene pizza market, anyone would pay it. And I did! I don’t live in Swanzey anymore, but I still think about and miss my yummy, yummy, Athens pizza. Don’t miss the opportunity to try it… and then keep going back for more!

Probably some of the best pizza i have ever had. It comes out as hot as legally allowed and tastes phenomenal. You’ll wait about 10 – 15 minutes to get a large pizza but you will soon realize it was well worth the wait. The staff is friendly, and it has the feel of a pizza joint. We make a point to go here every time we are in town! Try this place, you won’t be disappointed.
