We used to be big fans of The Lodge and ate there regularly for almost 8 years. But the food and the service have really changed in the past year. They are terrible at handling any allergies and very unaccommodating. They are uninformed on allergy protocol and basically told us that we couldn’t eat there because they couldn’t guarantee any safe meals with a shellfish allergy. Even when we thought we had found a safe food to order — pizza — they refused to give us pepperoni pizza because the waitress said the pepperonis were stored too near the shellfish. Another waitress taunted us on our way out when we had to leave without eating anything.

Came to eat on a Tuesday afternoon and after waiting lo ger than I felt was acceptable, my husband and I were given beverages and began to place our order. I asked for a burger and was informed that they were out of burgers… Really?! You’re a sports bar and have no burgers in the house?! So, I ordered some chicken ball thing that the waitress said was really popular and really good. It was so gross. Hard outside and mushy and tasteless inside. Blech. I have no interest in returning.

My wife just returned from lunch at the Lodge complaining like I have never heard her complain. She said they were there for 20 minutes before a server acknowledged their presence. She ordered a Santa Fe chicken that arrived without chicken. The server was nowhere to be found to complain or rectify the situation. They never were offered refills on their beverages and after one hour and twenty minutes they asked manager for their checks because they were already made late. Bottom line is it may be a good place to watch sports but it is not a great place for lunch.

First of all the place has a lot of menu options and a good beer selection The place is poorly laid out and most of their tv screens have average to poor resolution and are outdated . The food is of average quantity for the most part . The fish and chips are decent. The food is generally not overpriced and the service is good. Avoid Sunday which means free food for kids and a Chucky Cheese atmosphere. I would rate this place mediocre to decent overall. I would not call it great as it begs the question as why can’t the Detroit area have a sports bar with good quality food and good screens? It almost seems that it is usually one or the other or like in this case both somewhere in the mid– range.

My meal was very good. Service was nice and friendly and quick. The ribs could use a bit more sauce. Everything else was delicious. But if I have one complaint, it’s the«play room». Now, I may not be of the right age to go any play in the play room but gosh darn it, if I want to go have fun I will. Now when I heard«play room» I thought maybe there would be more things to play with. Such as: a ball pit? a slide? and playground maybe? but no. it was full of video games. And trust me, I love video games more then the next guy. But if your going to name your video game room the«play room then maybe you need to rename it the«video game» room. Thank you. That is all.

We went because we had a coupon for a free meal. You can’t use it on the specials so my wife ordered the salmon with mushrooms and raspberry dipping sauce. The salmon lacked flavor and seasoning and the dipping sauce was just like jelly. So that part of the meal was mediocre. But the ribs on special were great, as they always are, fall off the bone good. Also the wings were on special $.59 a wing, because of a football game playing. We LOVE the buffalo wings here. They are crispy and the sauce has a good flavor. They are meaty and are the best wings in the area, hands down.

Went back to the lodge 4 years later after having a bad experience. The food last night was amazing! My wife and I shared The clam chowder soup, the stuffed bacon cheeseburger, and the U.P. salad. The fries have been changed to delicious seasoned fries. Other than Red Coat Tavern it was the best burger I’ve ever had. I’m so glad I gave them a second shot. We will be back soon!

I was in Keego Harbor vacationing for a week, and walked here for lunch. It was not too busy at this hour. I ordered the Char-grilled Salmon Platter, and was impressed with how fresh the salmon tasted. It was very tender and flaky. I will say that it got a little bit tough at the end, but was otherwise perfect. The sauce was a nice complement, and there was plenty of broccoli to accompany the salmon. It was a good experience, and I would return if I was ever in the area again!

Pretty decent place, most of the staff is pretty attentive and friendly. Reasonably priced beers as well as some decent special. TVs with a variety of sports on, tons of room to sit and a patio, even a game room for the kids. I really like the rolls they have, I don’t know if they are homemade, but either way they rock. I’ve also gotten a couple different salad, both turned out well. Their food prices are on the high side, but portions are large, maybe a half size portion of somethings would be nice and a happy hour. My only complaint would be that they have this fireman’s raffle that is distracting, and one of the younger fireman has been a little too pushy when it comes to asking people if they want raffle tickets. Yet, I understand they do it for the charity.

The Lodge always has a wide selection of cold beers and the food is very good. They carry everything from burgers to Italian dishes. There oven baked cookies are a must… the best in Michigan. They also have a great outdoor patio with heat lamps when needed. If you are in the area stop there for lunch or dinner.

I recently visited the Lodge after boycotting for a couple of years. Our past experiences were so bad I just couldn’t come back. But time heals all wounds and low and behold I came back. I kind of feel bad for people who live in Sylvan/Keego because it’s a bit of a culinary dead zone. They sure don’t have many options to chose from and I guess the Lodge ends up being a go to spot. The best part about my recent experience was the crazy man riding a unicycle around the parking lot. The food is just«ok». Nothing terrible nothing special. We had the BBQ shrimp and a burger since they offer half off burger on Tuesdays. My friend said the burger was decent. They also offered $ 2 bottled beers but don’t tell you which ones are included so it took us about 3 tries until we found one. Our server was nice enough and we sat outside and they had the tigers game on so that was a plus. However, as soon as the sun went down the Mosquitos became horrific and they don’t have anything in place to get rid of them so you’ll need to mosey on inside.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. This is a place you can take your family to or just meet up with the guys to watch a game. Professionally run, clean.

This place is great. I’ve been here many times since I moved to Waterford a little over a year ago, and my friends from outside of the area always want to go back when they come out my way. They always have specials, the staff is always friendly and they have a large selection of beers. Try the chili, it’s awesome.

Good food with a special everyday of the week. Just make sure you read the fine print on your coupon if you use them. They coupons you get in the local ads make it an awesome deal. I had one bad experience but I am there quite a bit. The manager… after a bit of a fight did cover their issues!

Let me preface by mentioning that I have sentimental attachment to this bar/restaurant. It was the first bar and grill where I became a «regular». It also introduced me to Arcadia Brewery, which gives it a place among the angels for me. They serve standard pub fare, with an assortment of weekly specials like the ribs that are worth trying. However, when I think of the Lodge, I think of beer. Prior to moving to their current location, they were located down the street and apparently could not get a liquor license. As a result, they always had a wide selection of craft and imported beers WAY before it was the thing to do. They also have a beer club where after trying all of there beers you get a t-shirt, gift card, hoodie, mug and your name on a plaque on their wall. In their new location, they have got the liquor license and have gone more respectable with less pool tables and higher brow décor, but the beer selection still rocks. This is a restaurant for a lazy day so the kids can get chicken wings and the parents can throw back a few. With their three projectors and multiple TVs, it is a great bar for watching sports. In fact, I would say it is one of the best of not the best in Keego, West Bloomfield, Bloomfield area.

I’ve been to The Lodge several times over the many years. Tonight, I was in the mood for the rib special(a full slab of ribs, fries & a side of cole slaw for $ 15), but as I was by myself, I didn’t want to sit in a loud sports bar full of people. So, I called in my order for carry out. I was glad that they took it; once before, I tried to do that and was told they didn’t take carry out orders, so either they changed their policy or the first waitperson I spoke to was wrong. Now, the last time I ordered ribs for carry out(from some place else), I was sorely disappointed, so my hopes weren’t too high — I just wanted ribs that I didn’t have too cook! Well, I want to say that I was quite pleased with my order. Everything was the proper temperature(well, the cole slaw was a little warm, as it was packed in the bag with the fries), but I crisped the fries a bit because they were packed in a styrofoam box, and even though they did remember to vent it(no place ever thinks of that!), they were starting to get soggy. But, a few minutes in the toaster oven & they were perfect. The aforementioned fries were nicely cooked — a beautiful golden brown(even before I crisped them), with a tasty coating on them. The cole slaw was also well-seasoned — neither too runny nor too dry, and not overly dressed. But the ribs were the star: fall-off-the bone but still a little chewy. Unlike most people, I generally prefer ribs that stay on the bone, so this was the perfect compromise. The sauce was also perfect: it was sweet and tangy and just the right amount. It is rare that I don’t need to add sauce to ribs I’ve carried out. I’ve also recently discovered that there is a parking garage underneath the building, with a staircase and elevator that goes up to the sidewalk area. A very good thing to know in bad weather. The only reason I’m not giving my rating 5 stars is, as others have said, it is VERY loud, with lots of TVs. Granted, it is a sports bar, but that just makes it too loud, distracting & headache-inducing if you’re trying to dine with other people.

I love a good Monte Cristo. This is not a good Monte Cristo. Let me explain & defend my 1-star rating. Rather than being done on a flat top; it is a deep fried mess. I wish that this detail was mentioned on the menu. Or; by server. I thought I knew what I was getting. Boy was I ever disappointed. Perhaps they have other stand-out items on the menu. I’m willing to give The Lodge another chance as long as the patio remains open and I do not have to endure sports bar cacophony. Otherwise … — The waitress was prompt and attentive. — The hot food was hot. — The cold food was cold. — The patio is nice enough, wx permitting. — Parking can be a tad cramped. — The food: liquor ratio is such that I won’t risk CCW. — WiFi is good.

WOW their burgers are good! AND they’re half off on Tuesdays(with the purchase of a beverage). AND they have $ 2 bottle beers on Tuesdays… so there’s your beverage to qualify for half off your burger :) Great place to watch a game while enjoying a beer. I haven’t tried their famous fish and chips yet, but we shall have to make the hike on a Friday sometime to try the all-you-can-eat fish and chips!

We decided to give this place a try last night. We had a server with a new server shadowing her. We had to ask for refills and it took awhile for them to come and take our order and give us the check at the end. That was fine though, we were watching the hockey game so we didn’t really mind waiting. This places has TV’s all over — makes it great for watching multiple games at once. The food was okay. We tried the buffalo wings — they weren’t very hot, actually they were more sweet than hot. Kind of weird, but they tasted okay. For the entrée, I tried the Cabin Chicken. Even though it’s not listed as a sandwich it comes out as one. I found that odd. Plus, it included fries and coleslaw even though the menu said one or the other. The chicken tasted good. The fries and coleslaw were good as well. My wife tried the Lite Platter. The rice was pretty bland — with a lot of salt and pepper it was edible. The broccoli didn’t come out chopped up either — just a big crown. She enjoyed the chicken though. This place is a great place to watch games and enjoy a few drinks. The food left a little to be desired. This is one of the nicer sports bars in the area.
