Perfect Pawn

I was at the US mint many years ago and purchased an uncut sheet of sixteen two dollar bills Let’s do the math.16 two dollar bills equal $ 32.00 plus a acrylic frame that cost $ 25.00 for a total of $ 57.00. The idiot behind the counter at perfect pawn asked me how much I wanted for it. I told him I’ll take $ 40 just because I was too lazy to get a scissor and cut the two dollar bills apart. He went on the computer and looked at eBay and said to me I’ll give you $ 20 for every thing. I said I’m going to give you $ 32 plus the acrylic frame and you’ll give me $ 20 back. do I look stupid to you? I looked at the other guy sitting behind the counter and said to him do you understand what he’s trying to do. He just looked at me what a dumb look on his face. I guess he couldn’t do the math either. I also told him the frame cost $ 25. He looked at me and said it’s worth $.18. Just really miserable arrogant people who shouldn’t be in business. Maybe in the country where they are from, it’s how they treat people and people like to be treated. I personally don’t like to be treated like a turd and will never be going back
They have a sign on the front window that says we buy anything. I went in there one other time with a $ 300 pair of tag Heuer sunglasses in perfect condition along with the case. I had to sell them because I now use prescription sunglasses. He said that he didn’t want them so they actually don’t buy everything. It’s a damn shame that the town of kearny lets them scam the poor who needs money. When you walk into the store all they have is junk that nobody would ever buy. So what kind of pawn shop is that really. Stay away from these scumbags.

HORRIBLE Experience. Nasty uncourteous and lie too. THEY «miscalculated» the amount we owed them to pick the merchandise up and then had the audacity to charge more or wouldn’t release our items to us unless we paid it on the spot. Who does business like this? They should go down. They will rob you… oh and we gave them an excess of 2,000. How greedy can you be?

Be very VERY careful if you are getting a loan with these people. Not only are they very rude and low ball you on the price of your item but apparently they only pawn certain things but no where in the store does it say what those things are. If your piece doesn’t fit their standard as a pawnable item then they put you in what’s called a «buy back program» which means they sell your item back to you for $ 30 more + 7% sales tax where a normal pawn loan in NJ only runs you a 4.5% interest rate on top of the money you borrowed. They do this to take advantage of unknowing customers so they sign the contract and that way they can get around NJ state law.
It would be one thing if this policy was posted clearly so the customer could see what they accept for pawn and what they do not and then stating that they offer a «buy back» program for whatever items they don’t give out a pawn loan for but they don’t, and they sneak it past you without mentioning or explaining the terms.
I do take fault because without realizing I wasn’t getting a standard pawn loan, i signed the contract and by doing that agrees to their insane terms but I can’t help but feel that I was taken advantage of and schemed through the process.

Their sign outside is misleading that they give cash for everything. I brought in an $ 80 newly purchased game and he said they couldn’t sell it. The shop is very small with few items in it which no one around here would buy. I don’t know many people around here buying old cash registers, etc.
I predict they’ll be out of business soon.

Had a wonderful experience with the guys at Perfect Pawn. Ran into some trouble with dental bills, needed some moneys asap, and was a bit nervous going to a pawn shop. Well, Dan and his crew were great, very professional and courteous, I had money within 20minutes, and next month when i came back, I got my stereo quick and a big thank you! Going back soon to sell them all my old phones, so easy, why not!
