This place is a step up from your basic sandwich/​sub shop. Cold cuts and bread are fresh. They have daily specials. Sooo good!

Amazing little gem of Kearny! Have such delicious chicken salad. I have never ventured out because I’m obsessed with the chicken salad but have heard nothing but wonderful things about all of their food. Def. would recommend.

Cappelluti’s is always a favorite. Fresh, delicious tasting subs served with a smile. Their bread makes the world go round. They’re also great to order trays of subs from. Can’t go wrong with stopping here if I’m ever undecided what I want for lunch. This is the type of place I craved when I was away at school.

Great local deli to grab lunch. No bells or whistles. Old but clean as can be serving quality sandwiches at a good price. I usually go with the Italian with everything but if they have a special up that day don’t be shy. Today I got the Sausage Parmesan Sandwich Special. Good sandwich, they don’t skimp with the sausage, and great price.

My favorite part about working a Saturday is that i know we’ll be ordering lunch from Cappelluti’s!!! Huge, fresh & tasty, what else can you ask for? Try the fresh Mozzarella! And a Boylans Black Cherry soda goes great with anything on the menu ;)

I had to give Big Stash’s 5-​stars just for its history in Kearny and the amount of times I ate there as a kid. But if we’re being honest — nowadays I only regularly go to Cappelluti’s when I’m in town and need a sub. The Cappy’s #1 Italian is to die for. It costs a decent penny but you’ll be stuffed for the day. (And yes — they also sell Clinton’s iced tea which is essential when you’re wolfing down a sub.)

This small neighborhood deli is a perfect place to stop by for an Italian sub. The first time I went there I ordered their capocollo and mozzarella with everything (lettuce, tomato, onion, hot or sweet peppers, oil and vinegar.) It was so good I’m never heading to Subway again when my craving hits for a good sub. The people are friendly and the mozzarella is made fresh. There’s nothing better than a simple fresh mozzarella sandwich. Mmmm… so good!
It’s located on a corner of the busy Belleville «pike». I don’t think there’s any designated parking, so you’ll have to find parking on the side streets. It’s a no frills deli, but definitely worth a trip.

Hands down one of our favorite sandwich places in Kearny. They have two basic menus, The American and The Italian. Our normal orders come off the Italian menu, basically all the sandwiches on this side have Fresh Mozzarella and Italian cold cuts. Every sandwich is made with the highest quality meats and cheeses (Boar’s Head) and the best bread (Brother’s Bakery rolls, I think). Also, they have a great selection of drinks and chips to complete your lunch time cravings.
Besides the food, the staff is very friendly and by the third time we went they knew both of our usual orders.
