Quality of the food was ok. Wouldn’t consider gourmet. Disappointed with the long wait considering I got a typical burger and fry. Over priced. 99% self service and gave options for tip while paying on an iPad.

If you’ve been to Flippin Sweet the pizza joint in town, then you already understand the concept of this place… same thing… but burgers. You wait in line like a fast food joint then after placing your order, go sit down at a table. The first silly thing you notice is the way the menu is written. It’s all on chalkboards above the«cashier» station, which makes sense as the burgers seem to rotate and are seasonal due to ingredients. It’s scattered everywhere, causing people to delay their order decision backing up lines and the handwriting is quite sloppy. You better be a kindergarten English teacher to understand this menu. When you pay, it’s on an iPad so you have the option to leave no tip, a 15%, 20% or 25%. What if I wanted to tip a different amount? Force to tell me how much I have to tip and I’m ultimately probably not going to tip. Besides, this place is 99% self serve anyways other than when they bring your burger out. The layout is «hipster» and a waste to space to be honest. Yes, it’s sort of nice as it’s roomier but to me, I would think they’d want to utilize space better. Especially with a bar going in. Mostly bench seats when some old school metal lawn chairs thrown in. Now the most important part, the food. I wanted so bad to like it as I love gourmet burgers and have had some amazing ones. Sadly, they fail here. The burgers were okay, but they really skimp on the topping… when they give you them all. I had the Danny Ocean. It was a burger with bleu cheese, arugula, figs, and candied bacon. What I received was a burger with no figs(I mentioned it and they girl told me «oops» Oops? That’s your solution? Asking if I could get a side of them to put on top, I got the reply of «we must be out»…well, if you’re indeed out, don’t list it on the menu/burger as a topping. That’s half the reason I ordered this burger. Now on to the other toppings, the bleu cheese was more of a feta. There was no bleu cheese taste to it, and as a bit of a cheese mongerer I know my cheeses. The arugula was there… hard to mess that up, the candied bacon was bacon. It certainly wasn’t «candied», and then there was a basalmic vinegar type of dressing on it. Which wasn’t on the burger toppings on the board. Maybe they just threw that on since they were«out of figs». Geesh. The side of fries were very soggy and flavorless. They were fresh cut, but not cooked correctly. I hate to say it but this place sucked. The service sucked, just like their pizza joint. At least they know bad service! That’s a plus… errr…negative. The food was just not good and now I’m sad. Probably won’t be back here, ever.

Very greasy. Bad service… I had a horrible time here a d the burger was just awful. It seems as though the the have no quality control in the kitchen. My friend’s burger looked ok, but honestly could have gotten something at mcds or burger king for cheaper and better tasting.

The burgers were very good, but the fries were way too done. To the point where they were hard. The fries are fresh cut and they gave you a decent amount of them, but they were hard. They have very unique burgers on their menu. I would like to see a couple more with a more traditional blend of items.(one of the ones we ordered had figs, for example)

Best burger I have had our area. Tonight our first time in. Busy tonight so was 30minute wait, but worth. Fries really good also. Will definitely return.

I really wanted to love this place, but… not a great experience. I need to mention this business has only been open for 1 week and I definitely did not expect perfection. That being said, they have a lot of work to do to before I’ll go back. My fiancé and I arrived about 5:30 on Saturday evening. We expected it to be busy and it was. When you first walk in, there’s a very small space to wait to be seated — a very small space. We waited about 10 minutes to get a table, not too bad. Watching the waitstaff while we were waiting, I noticed only 3 waitresses and to say they lacked pep in their step is an understatement. With as busy as the place was and all the people waiting for a table, I felt they weren’t in a hurry to get the tables cleared off or to get customers seated. Once we got seated, we were handed a menu and an order card. The waitress told us to check what items we wanted and take the card up to the counter. Once we made our choices, I took the card to the counter and a waitress entered the order and told me the total. I was a little surprised to have to pay for our food right then. I felt obligated to leave a tip at that time as well. The more I think about it, the more I dislike this feature and next time I won’t leave a tip until we get our food and service. Also, your drinks and silverware are self service. After reading FB reviews, we anticipated a long wait time on our food. We ordered a burger and some specialty fries to share. Wait time was about 20 minutes — great! The Thornhill was a burger with bacon, spinach dip, tomato, and provolone. The bacon was way under cooked and I had to take it off the burger. Other than that it was decent. The burger came with fresh cut fries and they were really good. We also had specialty fries — From Dusk til Frings. The same fresh cut fries and onion rings with chili, beer cheese sauce, onions, and I’m forgetting something… Those were excellent! Walking out, you’ll have to pass through the same door you walked in, which means you’ll wade through all the people waiting to be seated as it’s such a tiny space. Overall, our first experience was not a good one. I really really dislike having to pay before getting food — I feel like that’s reserved for fast food places. I want to love this place and I think with time and once they get all the kinks worked out, I will. The atmosphere is great and I think it will be a great addition to Kearney once they really get up and running! Can’t wait to update this review in a few months :)
