Brookshire’s has some great produce and they have just recently redone their store. It looks more modern and it’s more spacious in the produce section. It reminds me of a Kroger Signature store inside. It’s a wonderful improvement. I’ve found the cashiers and other employees to be very friendly and personable here. I LOVE their ancient grain bread. It’s so fresh and full of nutritious goodness. I haven’t found fresh bread like this at any other grocer. I don’t get everything here — simply because many things we buy often are significantly less at Walmart. I’d prefer to be able to do all my shopping here, simply because it’s closer and less chaotic than Wallyworld — but things like a container of Folger’s Coffee are $ 3 more here than at Walmart makes it well worth the the travel-time and gas to go to Walmart. I wish that wasn’t true. I like to keep my dollars local and I hate the crowds. I come here for the fresh bread, specialty cheeses and even Hummus, and superior produce.
