Very good Chinese buffet food. Pleasant environment. Serves seafood, including boiled shrimp and stuffed crab. Probably the best buffet place on this side of Katy/West Houston.

We came here on Friday night… wanted to try a different buffet place other than the other one we usually go to a little further away. Place is very spacious and clean. The buffet didn’t offer that much of a good selection. The only thing I found myself eating was the bbq ribs… they were glossy and sticky… a little bit too sweet but I didn’t mind it. The rest of the buffet was meh… the sushi selection was pitiful. There were only a couple of California like rolls on display, and that was it! $ 11.20 for adults and then $ 2.05 for ages 3 and under… my little kid barely ate but a bite. Chinese buffets really nickel and dime you nowadays…

Place was pretty bland. Food wasn’t hot, or warm for that matter. Some of the food was mislabeled or missing some labels and made you think you were getting something else. A lot of the food was oily. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

it is just Ok– typical chinese buffet– not fabulous but not bad either. It is close to work so I will probably go again. Everything seemed fresh and refilled often.

Great selection, fresh and tasty at a fair price. Ok, I have to admit I love going to CE2 and went more often when I weighed 80 pounds more than I do now. CE2 has the best selection around, but it’s way too easy to turn your visit into a gorge-fest. Salad, fried food, food with sauces, seafood, and desserts. CE2 has it all. Although this is a buffet, overall CE2 does a great job at replacing food before the food gets too old and sauces get crusty. CE2 keeps it fresh. The dining area and restrooms are kept very clean. On our last visit, we arrived on a Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed sushi and seafood dishes such as mussels, shrimp and crab. All for $ 12 a person. This is a great deal. The sushi was fresh and delicious. I also enjoy the crab and shrimp that is fried and salted to the point where you can also eat the shell. The sautéed mushrooms were also very good. Not everything is great, though. The banana pudding didn’t taste right and the crawfish was overcooked. Overall, I would give CE23.5 stars, but not enough for a four-star review. Although the food is good, I am not a huge fan of the buffet atmosphere. This is not quite like eating in the mall at the food court, but is pretty close. Try the fried corn nuggets and macaroons. Also, don’t forget to grab an ice cream cone on your way out. Ok… another gorge-fest is coming on!

Café East 2 is just… okay. I come here for family dinners sometimes when we’re too tired or lazy to cook. The buffet selection is your classic Chinese fare — general tso’s chicken, kungpao chicken, Lo Mein, soups, sushi station, salad bar, heart attack fried food section, etc. It’s definitely not authentic Chinese food, but if you’re looking for something quick and yummy, it ain’t bad. The service is quick and polite, and the environment is comfy — dimly lit, clean, nice booths. I will say that the food has somewhat decreased in quality since they first opened, but still consistent enough to be comforting in its familiarity. My favorite foods here are the rice krisipies(so much better than the packaged kind), fried corn, Lo Mein, egg drop soup, and soft serve.

Food was OK, not great, but OK. Would have given it 3 stars, but everything seemed cheap and covered in layer of oil. Won’t eat here again.

We went here last weekend and we were ALL very disappointed. The food just just okay, my son’s friend began to feel nauseated. What was worse was the price! $ 68.42 ! Almost $ 12 per person at Café East is so not worth it.

Stopped in a 1pm on a Monday. I was pleasantly surprised in the buffet. Food was fresh and hot. I have been to a few buffets on the west side and this is as good as any of them. As with all buffets make sure to hit them at meal times. Your mileage may vary if you hit it at 3:30pm ;-)

This is a Monday night and the food on the Buffet is pretty fresh. The food taste pretty good for a buffet. The bathrooms are not gross.

I would have to say that this is the best Chinese Buffet in West Houston that I have experienced. Overall, there is a medium range of choices of food, and because I am not a Texas native, I just think it is wrong, cruel and perverted to have quesadillas on a Chinese food buffet. I think the pricing is a tad bit too much, but overall, I can say that I really enjoy the place when I do go. Several types of sushi to experiment with as well as many dessert options. You have to have a working soft serve machine to truly captivate the buffet experience in my opinion.

I love some Chinese buffet. I search high and low for food that is going to probably give me a massive heart attack, but that is why I frequent the YMCA… There has to be a balance. The staff are super friendly and the food. Well what can I say, I love it. It’s a comfort thing for me. Say what you will, it’s rat, it’s cat, it’s dog, whatever I’ll eat it. I know there was a place down the street that got busted a long time ago for serving cat. Rest easy though, that place is now a Mexican restaurant. I think Chinese buffets get a bad rap. Maybe this review reminded everyone about it, but I like Café East 2. I’ve eaten at just about every buffet around Richmond– Katy area. This is good stuff. I should add that I rarely eat there any other time besides 11a. The food is fresh and delicious! So I can’t comment on the food after that time. Good luck with that one. Ok, to recap… There is a lot of nasty Chinese buffets but this one is the bees knees!
