Have not been there is a few years and WOW!, what a change. Very nice upgrade! I heard that Bar Rescue filmed an episode there and pretty much saved the bar. Well, whatever they did worked.

Food is terrible(all frozen) and the service is waaayyy less than hospitable. The only reason it gets a star is because the drinks are strong

Love this place. The food is excellent and the people are great. Cheap beer and there’s always entertainment. If the band is too loud the outdoor area is a nice get away. I only wish that it was in an more accessible area.

Seriously, I am a big time service critic. The food truck is good as it is a food truck. What can you expect, it is not a full kitchen!!! By food truck standards, I will take it seven ways to Sunday. As far as the bar goes, I have never had service this good in Katy, must less Houston. I moved to Katy months ago and have hit a few bars and they were friendly, but after 5 visits, they use my first name when I come in. On visit 3, I thought one of the bartenders used my name, but being a skeptic, I assumed I heard him wrong, but I did not. I walked in tonight and I was hit with my first name as soon as I opened the door!!! If your old enough to remember the show Cheers and wished that you were ‘Norm’, come to The Wildcatter, treat the staff with respect and you will be family in no time. Drinks are cheap compared to Houston and service is a thousand times better. Brian, Lexi and Ryan are amazing. All others are good, but everyone is allowed to have their favorites.

Ok environment and a nice staff, but got maybe the worst Old Fashioned I’ve ever seen. It took about 10 minutes to make with her undivided attention, I felt bad for her and tried to get her to stop so I could get a beer, but it was too loud. It was murky, off colored, served in a shot glass, and garnished with a half of an orange. She told me «this is how I make them» as if she reinvented the classic drink. The inside band(there is a nice, unused venue outside) was loud as hell on the inside where the bartenders couldn’t even hear our orders. I may have gotten lung cancer from all the smoke inside. Ordered another drink off the menu(something pineapple) and that wasn’t good. The back/outside bar was ok with the games and pool table. That would have received a 3.5−4 rating. I don’t think I’d go back.

Came here around 3 on a rainy Saturday so it wasn’t very busy. We started inside but it was very smoky so we moved to the outside area. It was a pretty cool area. Very laid back and relaxed. Cold beer, good drinks, nice waitress/bartender. Looks like they are ready for a huge bonfire when the wether cools down… I want to be there for that! Also looks like they have a nice set up for concerts.

Big place with many tables. My fiancé ordered 2 beers which were cold and delicious. I ordered a Texas Star which was like a alcoholic Shirley temple. I also ordered one of their specialty drinks which was one of the reasons I came here. For something different which we saw on Bar Rescue. I was told they probably didn’t have the ingredients and the waitress didn’t like that drink anyway. Oh and she didn’t know how to even make it. I was very disapointed and ended up ordering another drink that I can get anywhere. Food wise we ordered the zucchini and nachos made with waffle fries. Both were good. Nachos were very rich but addicting. Atmosphere was clean. Smokers and most the people were regulars. Seemed for an older generation and for people who live around there. But otherwise friendly staff.

Great live bands on Sunday cheap drinks and relaxed atmosphere. Was rescued on Bar Rescue TV show, still hidden location not sure if they really want to keep it that way? Biker friendly brunch buffet on Sunday and food truck is open as well.

I can only give one star. If I could give half I would. I can’t speak further to service as I received none. Plenty of people and staff. Just must be that I am not a biker. I sat for 10 minutes for one smile which I thought was of acknowledgement. I was wrong. Just stopped in for a beer or two because I enjoy Bar Rescue. As the show suggests it is impossible to find. After all that driving you’d think they would be appreciative. Katy is no longer devoid of watering holes. This one can dry up if the service does not improve. Facility has promise and space. It still appears to be riding the shows coat tails but if you won’t serve a beer to a 40 year old with a $ 20 in his hand there is no hope for you. I did get to see the guy from the show that was slobbering drunk. I can’t speak to his condition today as neither he nor anyone else SPOKE to me. Sad for a place in the middle of nowhere to not appreciate new faces. Maybe bikers have better luck. The wife and I are out frequently. You lost money today. I will have to have my biker friends drag me back out to this place.

I have been to the Wildcatter Saloon a few times and I’ve enjoyed it everytime. The first time I went there was for Beerfest, they had a bunch of local breweries(No Label, St. Arnold, Southern Star and a couple others) there. Got to try some new beers I would of never tasted otherwise. Much fun. They have a food truck instead of a kitchen. I was a little leery at first, but it was surprisingly good. Try the turkey meatloaf sandwich. Also have bands on the weekend, usually pretty good local talent. I plan on going back, both for the beer and the food.

Firstly as it is not too easy to find: from I10 Pederson rd junction take feeder eastwards and turn right immediately after the Flying J/Dennys advertising sign onto Bryants Rd(there a Wildcatter sign there too but not too obvious) — go to the end of the road and the pub is on yr left We went at lunchtime, about 15 regulars were in — whom i suspect may be very regular customers — they were very polite and helped with the door as we went in and out(wife is in wheelchair). Bar lady was excellent– polite, efficient and helpful. They have No Label Ridgeback on draft. There is a limited, pretty standard bar menu but from what we saw and what we ate ourselves it is above average in quality. Whilst it is a not going to be a regular Must Go To venue for us we will return — perhaps one of their live music nights Altogether a nice lunchtime experience

We came for the food that we saw on Bar Rescue. Don’t come here. The lady that runs the food truck is completely negative and rude to people, we weren’t even able to get our full order because she wanted to close. at 10:45, on a Friday. No wonder this establishment is on the chopping block. The bartenders didn’t act very interested either.

Wildcatter Saloon is a pretty cool and unpretentious drinking establishment. Also, the food is really good. I had the burger and the Knuckle Head Nachos. I would return.

This bar is very close to me so I’ve been a few times. That being said, the biggest complaint is that it is still difficult to find in the dark. I went a few years back during a BBQ cookoff and had a blast. The outdoor bar is a great venue for live music. I’ve been a few times since the bar was featured on Bar Rescue and appreciate the new look and menu. Aside from finding it, I’d say the only other thing that brings it down to 4 stars is that the crowd is usually a bit older(I’m in my early 30s). But happy hour is great! The bar can get smokey, but so can any other bar in Katy. There is generous outdoor seating, if it really bothers you. Pros: Good food, good drinks, nice outdoor venue, recently remodeled, great outdoor seating Cons: Finding the place, older crowd

My husband and I joined some friends at Wildcatter Saloon last Thursday night to watch an NBA finals game. We had trouble finding the bar, and the drive in was a little creepy. Now that I know where I’m going, it won’t be an issue. The dark drive in is kind of nice, since it allows the bar to be secluded from the city lights. The bar had a good amount of people at it for a Thursday night. I’d say most were 30+, except for our group. The server was very attentive, and refreshed our drinks regularly. Their signature whiskey drinks are to die for. We tried 4 different ones, and they were all unique and incredibly tasty. My husband and I ordered food from the food truck. We got mozzarella sticks, and two of the burgers. The mozzarella sticks were just your standard bar mozzarella sticks appetizer, but they were served with very little marinara. OMG! The burgers! The burger is served on a jalapeño bun that was so fresh and moist. It’s topped with fries jalapenos, cheese, bacon, and sweet pickles. The meat patty was a pre-formed patty, but they seasoned it and cooked it well. They had karaōke while we were there, and the winner of the karaōke contest got a $ 50 bar tab comped. Several people went up. There were your typical drunk people that are fun to watch, and then some people that were actually really good. In between karaōke singers, the DJ was playing a good mix of music from classic rock to current stuff. There’s outdoor seating by the food truck, outdoor seating by a stage, and indoor seating. I’d love to come to an outdoor concert on a nice evening out in Katy. We will definitely be coming back here soon. It’s the type of place I’d love to be a regular. I’d give it 5 stars if there was no smoking. The bar is in Fort Bend, so it’s not smoke free. That was really the only complaint I had the entire evening.

I was really excited to visit this spot since it is so close to my neighborhood. I saw the episode about it on bar rescue and had to visit. It is a nice place buttttt… 1. The bar tender introduced himself to everyone but me and my husband. 2. We ordered food and drinks and he tended to the 5 other people in the bar before even putting in our order… they were ordering a second round. 3. The drinks were gross. I definitely will not waste my time on this spot again… i live closer to Einstein ’ s Pub and would rather their friendly yet smokey environment then be ignored again at this place.

I have to be honest, the reason the hubby and I decided to checkout Wildcatter Saloon is because we saw it on an episode on ‘Bar Rescue’. Prior to that, we had no idea there was a bar hidden off the I-10W feeder, just west of downtown Katy. In addition to the main bar which which had a variety of indoor and outdoor seating, we noticed a larger stage and outdoor seating adjacent to the property across a small bridge. Definitely curious about that stage! We were very pleased, and plan on going back again. The service was attentive & friendly, including the owner Jeff who stopped by our table twice. We made new friends with another first-timer, and a couple who were regulars, before the makeover. The crowd was an interesting mix of bikers dudes and chicks(probably holdovers from the ‘old bar’); and suburban couples & small groups of folks mostly age 30+. Live music started around 9:00p, and it happened to be the first night that musician’s Stacey Steele’s new band ‘Devil Anse’, made-up of some members of local band ‘Toy Subs’, played. Awesome mix of rock, country, cross-over, 70’s, 80’s, etc. The food from the semi-attached food truck was terrific! Hubby had the Turkey Meatloaf Sandwich, and he kept stealing bites from my Knuckle Head Nachos(made out of a foundation of waffle fries in lieu of tortilla chips.) I think we’ll try the Wings and the Beer-Battered Fish Steak Sandwich next time. We also ordered one of their signature shots Wildcatter House Whiskey — A chilled shot of Bullet Bourbon infused with cinnamon extract and Simple Syrup.(Tasted sort of like Fireball.) I’m giving it 4-stars for three reasons: The band wanted people to dance, but there wasn’t room to dance. They just need to remove 1 table to make it work. Katy, TX is one of the holdovers that allows smoking in bars. We spent half our visit on the outdoor patio to avoid too much smoke. They’ve got to put a better, more visual sign, on the feeder road. If you’re not looking for this place, you’ll never find it. If you’re looking for a fun place to kick-back, whether you’re in denim or leather, heels or boots — Wildcatter Saloon is a great place to drink, eat, and be yourself. Rock on!

After giving this some thought I have decided to update my review. I hate to change my review to one star but after words with the owner, I will never be returning. It’s a shame as my wife and I really enjoyed coming here. The food is great and the setting is comfortable. But due to his actions, I’m done with Wildcatters. I mentioned to Jeff that some of the pictures on his website and facebook page were ones that I took and posted on Unilocal and was told«they were his and that he took them» needless to say it went downhill from there. It really wouldn’t have been a big deal, but the way it was handled was unprofessional and unpleasant. Original review below: Nice local bar, we have been a few times since the makeover. I have to say I like coming here. A very relaxed setting and they have covered outdoor seating. All the waitresses have been friendly and the prices are reasonable. We had the wings and shoestring fries during out last visit. The wings were hot, fresh and perfectly cooked. The only thing I would change would be to offer a hotter sauce. The nittro flaming lips was very mild. The shoestring fries were hot and fresh as well, think they may have had a light batter on them, tasty! Looking forward to trying the beef steak sandwich next time. On our last visit the owner was going table to table checking on the guest. A nice guy, you can tell he really cares about his customers and his business. Good Job!
