First visit to Taco Grill. Came by during lunch and ordered the steak fajita tacos on corn tortilla with onions and cilantro and also a side of nachos. The meat was so chewy it hurt my jaw. The corn tortillas were tinier than I was used to. Nachos were okay, cheese tasted like the huge canned cheese. Two stars because the charro beans were really good. A tad different and really tasty. Not sure I would try again, if they can’t get their fajita meat right then not sure anything else would be as good.

We just came back form eating at this place, were surprised that the ownership changed, were also surprised that they remodeled, we got our usual, fish taco’s w/charro beans, beef enchilada’s verdes. my fish taco’s were good but my wife’s enchiladas were almost to spicy for her to eat and they used Chief Mike(the microwave) to re-heat the food. over all we felt uncomfortable here, the the welcoming atmosphere is gone and we felt totally out of place, the only bright spot was the girl who took our order, she was great. we wont be going back.

I am totally disappointed in how this place has gone down since my first review in 2014. We just ordered the steak tacos(#1) and cheese enchiladas(#30). The cheese enchiladas were missing the most important part… CHEESE! I was eating tortilla with nothing in the middle. The rice was old and hard. The steak tacos, which my husband never has a complaint about, was chewy. Last time going here which stinks.

Since cilantros took over the food is 1000 times better! That is the good part, the bad part and the reason I gave it only three stars is they are charging WAY to much for the food.

I’m disappointed with this restaurant. I just got out the restaurant and had to write the review now. The food was not good at all we ordered nachos, beef fajita tacos, torta, kids hot dog. Everything was awful. There is way better Taco restaurants out there. I don’t recommend this place at all.

Ordered a fajita torta because they didn’t have pastor and I was truly disappointed: dry meat, no avocado, bread was not toasted and falling apart. Figured I couldn’t go wrong with a simple torta… wrong! 1st and last time visiting this place.

We couldn’t think of anywhere to eat. We were about to go eat next door at Palma de Cera, which man I wish we did. We have always seen this place and figured it might be a cheap hole in the wall type place. Wrong. This place sucked so bad. I’m so angry right now for wasting $ 40 on some chopped up beef they call fajitas and a frozen margarita that tasted more like just frozen lemonade. Their motto said not Tex Mex, it’s Mexicano… well whatever it is, it wasn’t what we were expecting. The tortillas were like nasty store bought Mission tortillas. If you want special toppings on your fajita meat… it is an extra $ 3…they will suggest it to you thinking that it’s free… but it’s not. Seems like a mom and pop type of place, but sorry we weren’t satisfied with the food. We forced ourselves to eat but we paid for it.

Upon Taco Grill switching ownership, I was upset and thought food quality would be compromised. My mistake, food quality has remained the same, meaning the same great Taste and quality. My FAV here are fajita steak tacos with the Mexican potatoes and a hint of cilantro! — best Tacos in Katy! And i have lived here for eight years I would Know.

Will definitely NOT return to this place. Ordered over the phone for pick up, 3 burritos, was already on my way. I arrived 7 mins later, my order was ready. The brisket burritos are awful, they are cold and very dry… I asked to add chopped onion, no onion, I asked for black beans, no beans at all. Just cold meat, lettuce, a tiny bit of sour cream in a cold tortilla. No tomatoes, no cilantro, nothing. This place sucks. Ordered 3 of the worst crispy tacos ever, they look like the shells you would find in a taco lunchable. The one star? The inside of the place was clean and the service itself not bad. However I’m not driving all the way back there so someone can do something to my food. The place is very affordable, there are plenty of other places in the area that actually prepare and season their food to go to. I would even take Chipotle over this place…

A little weak. Chips are like clay tiles, brisket burrito was very dry, fox news barring in the corner… but it was clean, and fast. To fair we went on off hours 3:30 saturday. After a 5mile hike I could have eaten anything; I’m sure there are better things on the menu, but what I ordered I had to choke down. I can’t give it higher than 3 stars, if that’s an example of their quality control being served out, it shows poor judgement.

The fork was sharper than the knife Tacos were good. Quesadilla wasn’t bad. They just put the avocados randomly and in chunks.

Being a self-proclaimed taco whore can be a tough job, consisting of many busted belts, stained articles of clothing, and moments of deep lethargy… but Taco Grill makes it worth it, and I accredit them to my ever-growing waistline. I have tried the majority of the menu and each taco, especially the #4 Grilled Chicken Alambres, has so much flavor that it just cannot help itself but to make your taste buds SING! The tacos are all very simple — don’t come here looking for cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and all of the other Taco Bell-like fixings that crappy tacos require to be good. Here you will get meat, maybe some onion on top, maybe some cilantro, and you will be happy. The quesadilla is no exception. It is filled with cheese, cooked to perfection, and tasty, as a quesadilla should be. Their charro beans are very tasty too!

When my brother and I were looking for tacos is in the area we decided to come here. In all honesty the food itself was good. I felt like it was over priced for mini tacos though. The service is very fast which I liked. I still need to try other things, but I probably won’t frequent this place because i felt it was over priced for what it is.

I ordered the floutas & my husband had Enchiladas Verdes. The floutas were very good. They were covered in shredded lettuce and sliced to tomoatoes, which I thought was strange. Their salsas were tasty and fresh. Their chips were hard and old tasting. My husband thought the Enchiladas were awesome but the beans & rice were yuck. We actually left hungry. The prices were ok but I’ve had better & more for less $. I’m not sure if I’ll go back agian. If I do I’ll be getting the Tacos because they had the best reviews. The cashier/waiter was very nice and courteous.

Okay so I admit, after developing a serious jonsing for some Fish Tacos I decided to hop on the holy bible of where to eat« Unilocal», this place landed third on my places to check out, as luck of fate would have it the first two places are now closed! What can I say about this place, a serious surprise but a happy one, clean, friendly and food is amazing, oh yes and it doesn’t break the bank, why on earth would anyone in their right mind go to a place like Taco Hell when they can get something of quality for the same money. The Brisket Tacos were actually my absolute favorite, bottom line stop in and check it out, you won’t be disappointed unless you’re looking for Italian food at which point what the hell are you doing in a Taco Shop!

I crave the chicken enchiladas mole! The horchata brings me straight back to Mexico:) My hubby always requests the hit ‘Diablo’ sauce(you have to ask for it because it’s so hit it’s kept off the counter. My baby loves the horchata… sippy cup style!

Clean atmosphere, prompt and nice service and decent flavor saves this place from me giving it 2 stars. Why? Because $ 2.80 for a single flour fajita taco is way overpriced, even for Katy. The most egregious of sins, however, is that the taco comes without tomato or lettuce. It just has onions and meat, and the meat quality isn’t the best either. Overall, I wouldn’t come back, because I don’t live in Katy and I can get better quality tacos for cheaper closer to where I live, but for Katy folk, it may be a decent family restaurant to visit.

Mind numbing hot sauce, home made tortillas, this is the way Mexican food should have been from the start. Pirata’s is a quesadilla made in to a taco, fueled by the nuclear Diablo juice. Only the coldest water can calm the steam chamber which is now your mouth. Verdes is a enchilata generously sprayed down with green sauce. Green, the color of mula, and this dish is right on that money. Chances of a revisit? 100%

Went for the first time yesterday. I ordered the tacos with corn tortillas, charro beans and a side of guacamole with chips. Atmosphere: very nice, clean, small café style. Service: I did take out but the ladies at the register were very nice. Food: steak tacos with corn tortillas were delicious. I wish I knew how to make my corn tortillas soft like they do here. The meat was tasty and the onions and cilantro were very fresh. The beans were awesome! They were flavored perfectly(in my opinion). The guacamole was ok. It could have used a little bit of salt. After I added a dash of salt, it was pretty good. The chips were a little too thick for my liking but they were fresh and warm. I will definitely return. I’m curious about their fajitas. ;-)
