Let’s get something straight. This could very well be a contender for the best example of a dive redneck/biker bar in Houston. What have I seen in my several visits to Pete’s Oasis? Dogs usually running around, bikers getting drunk and blasting Britney Spears on the jukebox, patrons driving up on their lawnmower, a drunken fight or two and to top it off, a bar game involving trying to hang rings on deer antlers. I love it! What are you going to drink? Bud, Bud Light, Miller Lite, Coors Light, Lone Star or Busch Light(in bottles!!) That’s it. What are you going to do? Really all anyone does at the bar is drink and smoke although they do have a buck hunting arcade game and a pool table. They seem to go largely unused. What else do I like about it? It is literally in the middle of nowhere. You’d have to drive at least 15 minutes in any direction just to find another place that would take a credit card. You want to disappear and have a beer? This is the place. In fact, that’s usually the reason I find myself swigging Lone Star down at Pete’s. Issues? Well, it’s certainly way out in the middle of nowhere. The crowd? I’m in my 20’s and when I decide to drop in I usually find myself about half the age of the next youngest person in there, not that I mind. Something about being surrounded by so many drunken bikers at times makes me wonder if I am on the verge of death or if I’m safer than I’ve ever been. Conclusion? Pete’s is a good spot for a quick brew if it’s your kind of crowd.
