KCAM Contemporary Art Museum Fort Bend

My daughter and I were fortunate to see the final series of the Dante Over Extracted exhibit and it was incredible! The museum was small, but the art was fantastic and the curator, Ana, was great too. They also have a kids program that includes earning your art or photography badge for scouts. Check it out!

I frequently visit KCAM and absolutely adore the place! I just now went to see the Divine Comedy’s rendition by Ron Hartgrove and I must say, it’s spectacular! Every time I got to KCAM there’s always something for everyone in each exhibition. I’ve never been to another museum like this, ever. It’s so unique and there’s so much passion in everything that’s witnessed at KCAM. It’s a definite must to go to KCAM if anyone is looking for something to do in the Katy area!!!

I always enjoy the exhibits that KCAM provides to the community. A wonderful art museum that is all inclusive. My kids really enjoy going and learning about the artwork. It gives me an opportunity on a smaller scale to really teach my kids about contemporary art and how to act at a museum around artwork and sculptures.

Although it has only been open two short years now, KCAM is really making its mark in the greater Houston arts community. It reminds me a lot of the early days at the BEMIS CENTER FOR CONTEMPORARY ARTS in Omaha, Nebraska. KCAM has the same potential — if given the same local support BEMIS has enjoyed since 1981.
From a very diverse schedule of artist exhibitions to its own commitment back into the Katy and Fort Bend County’s communities — KCAM is worthy of everyone’s support and encouragement. My family and I like to drop by on a Saturday afternoon and take in everything from the outdoor sculpture to the exhibits inside. KCAM is an arts and culture find right here in the middle of Katy, Texas. Having lived here for almost 15 years, there was a time when I drove into the city for almost everything. Over time as the area grew, those trips became less frequent. Now with the addition of an active fine arts center like KCAM, hosting artists’ talks by renowned artists, frequent art receptions, and changing exhibits those trips are very rare. It’s nice to be able to drive into downtown Katy and see a collection of artwork featuring artists from around the world as well as our own region.
I’ve become a frequent visitor because upon each visit, the offerings have impressed. I also love the gift shop! This is a great way to spend an afternoon or an evening. I’m happy that it’s here and it’s well worth visiting.
