I love this Vet. Dr. Eunice Ohashiegbula-Iwunze seems to really love animals and really love helping their owners. I get the impression that she wants to help and not just find a way to charge you a lot for her help. I’ve taken a dog and cat to her for their shots. She doesn’t try to push a ton of vaccinations on her customers whose cats never go outside or who will never be exposed to situations where vaccinations would be useful. She lets the owners make the decision in either case, but she will give you her opinion if you want it. My most recent visit involved my cat having a problem with his mouth. It turned out he had a cavity and the tooth was trying to come out, but really needed to be pulled. She put some gels and other topical anesthetics on his gums around the tooth and did a quick pull. Yes, he cried, but he was over it very quickly and when we got home he was no longer hiding like he had been all week — so he was definitely feeling better. I think the thing that impressed me was that when I looked at the bill, there was no charge for the 10mL of anesthesia and the topical she used. Most vets charge you for every little thing they use, but Dr. Eunice only charged for the 2 pills she gave him and the pills she sent home with me. The tooth pulling was just charged as a doctor visit plus a small fee for disposal. You WILL have to make an appointment and it is best to make it over the phone if possible. She doesn’t always have a large staff and you may walk in and find nobody at the counter because they are all helping her with a patient. The cost is a bit lower her than at many places and I admit that was part of my choosing her. But I really love the way she talks to her patients and their owners and so I’ll be sticking with her as my vet of choice!
