Floor it Today & Remodeling Too

My husband and I recently had laminate wood floors and tile installed in our master bedroom and two bathrooms. Shawn Mirza was very helpful in the process of picking out our floors. He was very knowledgable and patient while I changed my mind over and over. And eventually we found the right fit for our house! The price point was very reasonable as well! The work crew who installed the floors were very courteous and professional. The time estimated to install was three days and they finished in two. Before the crew left our house, Ahmed from Floor It Today came to our home to make sure everything was correct and what we wanted. There were only a few cosmetic imperfections, which were fixed the very next day.

I recently used Floor it Today to replace the flooring in our entire downstairs area. Approx. 1300 sq ft. We selected a nice tile that looked like wood and pricing was great. The installation was very professional and we have had our floors for two months now and love them. They would have received 5 stars, but for 2 issues. 1) One of the toilets was broken during removal, but I was able to go select a replacement and they installed in and reembursed me for the unit. Also, the salesperson estimated a 5 day window for install. In reality it was 8 days, and caused us to adjust our work schedule a little bit. Overall though we are extremely satisfied and will be coming back for our second story in a couple years.

Floor It Today provided outstanding service on our new laminate flooring throughout our new home! Ahmed and the crew at Floor It Today were fast, professional, and very easy to work with. They came out to the house, took measurements, provided a variety of samples to choose from, and gave a detailed estimate & timeframe. The samples the provided were the best we’ve looked at and their prices were reasonable.
They were able to install our floors exactly to the description offered and we were blown away by the look, feel, and quality of our new floors. No hidden prices or fees either. The crew came on schedule, finished on time, and did not leave a mess. The look of our new floors was beautiful and the work was flawless. They hand cut the floors to match our stone chimney, island kitchen, etc. and the look was seamless. We were extremely satisfied in the quality of their workmanship and attention to detail. Ahmed and his crew were very responsive to our needs as well. We were provided details on how to maintain the floors and they warrant their work for any defects in installation or materials.

I contacted this company during the summer to have my kitchen upgraded. Bassam was the person who assisted us. He was very attentive, showed us many options, and helped us choose the material that would work best with our ideas. Bassam was there for us every step of the way. Very professional and genuine. He gave us a very fair quote, considerate of our budget. It took a few weeks to get them started on our kitchen, but once they did, in only 5 days it was ready and beautiful. Bassam was always on top of things, making sure everything turned out as promised. My husband and I are very pleased with the results and experience upgrading our kitchen. We couldn’t have chosen a better place. Bassam made this experience easy and enjoyable I would definitely recommend Floor it Today to my friends. We added granite, backsplash, replaced a few appliances, and added a mural to the kitchen wall.

The home we purchased had a basic shower /​tub set-​up installed directly on drywall. They didn’t last long. We needed two new tubs and a shower.
We wound up going with Floor It Today in Katy and I couldn’t be happier with the decision. We got 4 bids and they came in #3, or about 30% less than the most expensive. We visited the showroom and saw that the materials they offered were the exact same as the highest bid, and their reviews were also very good. Plus, Shawn MIrza just seemed to be a very genuine person, even meeting my wife at a local Home Depot to discuss tub options which was above and beyond the call.
We were so pleased, we had them do the floors while they were at it.
We also decided to make the shower /​tub combo a double shower. The additional price for this large modification was minimal.
They quoted 3 – 4 weeks and finished at 4, even though several days were lost with the rain /​floods that were going on.
All in all, a fantastic experience and a company I highly recommend. Check out the pictures!

Ahmed and his crew installed over 2000 sq. ft. of mesquite engineered hardwood floor in our brand new house and did a great job.

I’ve waited a while to do this review as I wanted to gather my thoughts and not spout off unnecessarily. So… where do I start.
The good news is that the counters look great. The tile guy that did the back splash is an artisan as was the granite installer.
I placed a review on Angies list that was very poor and very long, but I can’t do that here. Bottom line, the pricing is not transparent. We could never get prices out of Bassam for parts, materials, etc. Anytime there was an issue, he danced around it, or found some way to not give a straight answer (another reviewer had the same issue).
He SIGNIFICANTLY over estimated the fire place job at 3 – 4 days and $ 900. It was completed in 3 – 4 hours, and couldn’t have cost more than $ 300. The tile installers for the backsplash couldn’t seem to cut any of the tiles without cracking them. At this point I was so tire of this company I just tried to move on. Bassam said the tile was «defective» and ordered something similar (2 weeks to get the original tile, 2 days to get the new one). Also, I told Bassam I didn’t want that guy back since he couldn’t cut tile. I’ve done tiling myself, I never had issues with any type of tile. The new guy was awesome tho…
DO NOT USE HIS PLUMBERS. They cannot possibly be licensed. They took my dishwasher drain line and instead of looping it and anchoring it to the inside of the cabinet, he shoved it between the sinks. He used a piece of PVC pipe shoved inside the smaller hose, and the shoved the smaller hose into the bigger hose, then clamped the whole thing. I found an adapter at Home Depot for $ 3 made just for that purpose. My disposal was shooting waste up the other sink! I demonstrated with water, and they wanted to get food from the fridge to test… what? What a waste…
Over all the plumbing is a nightmare…
Communication was horrible. His carpenter, great guy, but hardly speaks English which resulted in a $ 400 plumbing snafu and me shouting at Bassam over the phone.
Documentation is a joke. His contracts are for flooring work, since the «other» stuff he does, like fireplace tile, granite countertops, etc., don’t have dedicated places on their contracts, it’s handwritten in. Difficult to understand and open for THEIR interpretation.
Hugely dissapointed. I will never… never… EVER use them again.

BEWARE! Bought Groupon 100 bucks for 500 dollars of carpet, tile and installation. Bought went there then was told cost would be 800 dollars with coupon! It speciffically states most rooms are 500 dollars. For 250 sq ft that price is ridiculous (I work at a flooring company) when I asked how much a sq ft was the tile, salesman wouldn’t answer just said its «the cheapest» Save your money buy from home depot and call installer. Terrible bait and switch artists!!!

I was very disappointed with this company after buying a groupon for them. They missed all three of the appointments I set up with them. After so lack of returned calls I finally just requested my money back.

Floor It Today at this location, is a first rate company in terms of service and quality of work.
I have a 21 yr old home that I wanted to add hardwood in the living room. This room sides up next to the foyer and dining room that already had hardwood. Akram was able to find an unfinished engineered floor in the same size and type of wood as my old hardwood. Not an easy task! The crews he uses did such an amazing job! The installation was efficient as possible, and they worked hard from the moment they arrived until the day was done. They are true craftsmen. The final product is stunning! You cannot easily tell which is the old wood and which is the new, they have blended so well. I am a very nervous client, as we’ve had lots of contractors over the years; and the Floor It Today guys gave me NO issues to worry over. The job was done exactly as discussed, for the price discussed with no surprises. Again, no easy feat! I will be using them again for our next flooring project.
