Agatha, very sorry we couldn’t meet your expectations. We were working on a scaled project at the time. However, what was not mentioned in your review, was that I left a client, who had stayed home from work, to go over details about the project, and was at your front door within 15 minutes of your call to shut off the water, as a valve had failed open and had run all night. I did not charge for the call, and offered to repair the valve first call the following morning. There was no emergency because I had shut off the water to the system. Probably best we left it off for a while anyway. We were booked out several weeks, at the time, and I moved you to the front of the list. No good deed goes unpunished. You insisted on being present to watch our work, which wasn’t necessary. All that was needed was access to the back yard. The expectation was that we make the repair before you go to work(around 6 A. M) or after 4:30. The reason our operating hours are set between 8 to 5, M-F, are due to familial obligations. We have three children, of which two have special needs. Our workers also have children and need to be home by a certain time. As a business owner, I reserve the right to set business hours that are conducive to our current situation. The offer stands. We are happy to service your sprinkler system, M-F, starting at 8 and last call begins no later than 4. I do not recommend Five Star Sprinklers/Dave Evans Sprinkler company. My experience with this company was frustrating and is still not resolved because of a lack of follow-through on emergency repairs after initial work to update my sprinkler system was contracted to. While trying to schedule completion of repairs, I was repeatedly told how busy they were AND apparently this company has the luxury of essentially emulating Bankers’ Hours with appointments only M-F after 8:00AM and no later than 4:00, because(as I was also repeatedly told), the workman’s day finishes at 5:00PM – even for emergency leak/valve failure that left my backyard looking like a pond. As I am a teacher, it will necessitate a day off to fit into this company’s schedule to resolve the repairs that have been pending since just before Labor Day. I was given to feel that once the initial, ‘bigger job’ was done, the company couldn’t be bothered with a repair job. I’ve never written a review before for services of any kind(I, too, am ‘busy’)– but since customer service seems to be lacking in this ‘Service Industry’, I felt compelled to express my disappoint with what I thought would be a customer care company.

I had a really great experience with the install of my sprinklers. David Evans is great and I will agree that he knows his stuff. Everything got done quickly with quality product and at a reasonable price. I, however, have been trying to contact him for the last 8 months for a follow up and to request a copy of the paperwork to no avail. I have left multiple messages to both the business number and his cell. Too bad, really, that a great experience should turn sour due to lack of follow up.
