I have a friend that swears by Dream Dinners. She gets the whole family together and goes down to the store to prepare her meals for the next few weeks or month and has food that is healthy and ready to go any night of the week. When she had a Dream Dinners party, I decided I would try it out. Making something that wasn’t just the same old thing appealed to me. And, since my daughter is the pickiest eater on the face of the earth, I thought this might appeal to her. Each month Dream Dinners has a menu of dinners you can prep at their location. You get a set number of portions, seasonings, etc. put them together, stuff them into freezer bags and everything is ready to cook when you need to make a meal. It’s super easy and doesn’t take a long time to get your meals in order so you can have some time worrying about something other than cooking. When I was there, I picked out a Fiesta Chicken breaded with crushed up tortilla chips. I prepped all of my items then put them into bags. For each recipe, there are stickers you put on the bags to remind you of the cooking instructions when you’re ready to get dinner on the table. Unfortunately, my daughter refused to eat my Dream Dinners trial so my husband and I split her portion. The chicken was tender and the meal was easy to make. If my daughter would expand her horizons, it is certainly something I would make again. As it turns out, I still have to be sneaking about slipping nutritious foods on her plate so Dream Dinners didn’t work for me. I really can see the benefit to it though and would recommend it for anyone on a tight schedule that still wants fresh tasting, delicious meals at home without all of the hassle.
