This is a nice place for BBQ and not too expensive, the BBQ sauce it’s actually tasty. It’s a bit hidden tho.

Basically very low standard service fast food place who hires people who don’t care. Staffs are so unprofessional and very rude kids. They just hangs out there and don’t know how to serve customers in a good manner. They even take naps at tables next to customers. Foods were much better when they were on Mason Rd. Workers at some fast food burger shop is much more professional.

We love Dickey’s BBQ. We used to frequently eat at the Montrose area location and food was always delicious! I was slightly disappointed in this restaurant. We went for lunch on a Sunday, which should’ve been the perfect time to get a hot meal. Our rolls were rock hard and cold! I remember their rolls being very soft and warm. My husband’s sliced brisket looked like leftovers and it was a little dry and tough. My pulled pork was very good though! The portion sizes were nice. Not too big, not too small. Also, just a small gripe, the counter where you pay was caked in something sticky. I had to use some of my son’s baby wipes to clean my arms. Tables and chairs were also grimy and sticky feeling. The staff was very good at listening and didn’t seem bothered that my husband changed his order at the last minute.

Visited Dickey’s this afternoon for lunch. The service was great and so was the food!

Food was ok but service was awful. I went with my husband and kids on Sunday at noon. The place was empty, which should have been a warning. The people taking our order looked like they hated being there and spoke so little English we had to repeat ourselves frequently and they still got it wrong. The meat was ok, the potato undercooked, the garnishments(pickles, onions, bread, etc) has to be requested. We won’t be returning.

It’s mediocre BBQ, I wouldn’t want to order from here again. Nothing really stands out about this place that would make me consider it worth going to(in comparison to another BBQ place). The only thing I really liked was the pecan pie!

The ribs were moist, juicy, and the meat falls off the bone. The pulled pork was also very good. The jalapeño beans were delicious — with just the right amount of «heat». Mac and Cheese was creamy and tasty. Also– free soft serve vanilla ice cream cones! Kids eat free every Sunday. We will definitely come back again.

I didn’t want to stop at this restaurant. I thought it was gonna be another one of those fast food hole in the wall. I was WRONG! The food is really good! The place was clean & the people were really friendly! The best part aside from delicious smoked turkey & vegetables there is FREE soft serve ice cream! My kind of place!!!

My name is Linda Rutledge, I live in south Florida. I come to Houston, Texas 3 or 4 times a year. Close by is a small town called Katy. One day by accident I ran across one of my now favorite stops for a satisfying BBQ dinner. Dickeys Barbecue Pit. When you travel as much as I do it’s such a pain trying to find food that is more like home cooking! Thanks to the guy who decided to run this restaurant. I appreciate you. The food is wonderful!!! I give you the highest rating! Props

leachreb, 01/07/2015Edit I love their bbq and I’m a regular now! I’ve tried several different things and it’s always good. I frequently buy the Picnic Meal and can easily serve 4 people at home. Meats are slow cooked and always moist. We all like their sides also. There is usually only two people at night and sometimes they can run out of some menu items but I’ve never had the problem mentioned by another reviewer. Everyone I’ve dealt with there is friendly, especially a young man named Ricky! Always with a smile, he works hard to make sure you’re happy with your order. Thanks Ricky for a great job!!! Thanks Dickey’s for great BBQ! PS. I bought a whole smoked turkey at Christmas and it too was very good!

Someone please help this place before it goes under! This location has been open for about two months so I would think it would be a little more put together by now. The way things went down it was as if we were there the first day they opened. Went in for dinner and there were only two people working there(not their fault) so we expected a wait, but from ordering to paying it was about a 20 minute process. We first ordered our meat that was pulled out of a warmer and it looked like the bottom of the barrel or scrap meat. The sausage didn’t look the right color. We moved down to get our sides and they other person working was standing there completely clueless. He didn’t know anything and he stood there and stared at the other worker. He didn’t even communicate with us. At that point our meat had been chopped, put on a plate and was getting cold. We asked him for our sides and it went like this«beans and potato salad please» the guy looks around«umm what did you want?» Dude was in a daze. He couldn’t work the register, didn’t get sauce or cups. If it was his first day I get that, but he couldn’t even communicate and say«sorry first day let me ask, sorry for the wait» nothing. We finally sat down to eat it was cold and didn’t taste right. We got up and left and went to Rudy’s.
