Picked up an order to-go. It was my first time ordering food from here. I ordered the General Tso’s Chicken and shrimp fried rice. Both were delicious. The general Tso’s is super spicy… Which is how I love it. I will definitely be ordering from here again!

Great delivery option! I’ve never dined in house but have ordered delivery over the past 2 years 2013 – 2015. Great phone etiquette, delivery times are great, friendly delivery. I don’t 5-star a restaurant I’ve never expire need all facets.(Dine-in, waitstaff etc.) but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were just as great in person.

This totally satisfy my craving tonight. Food are not oily like other places and trust me, I’m Chinese and I worked at restaurants before.

Great service super super fast. The lemon chicken is one of my favorites. The decorations are rather minimal and it is in a weird place in the shopping center. No worries though because they deliver.

I work right next door on the weekend, and I tend of order from here when I forget my lunch. The prices is pretty decent, I usually order off the lunch menu, so I can’t judge that. The food is pretty greasy… I always order the special lo mien, fried rice, with an egg roll. Every time I do eat there, my mouth is all shiny after a couple bite! The service is pretty quick! I always ask them to delivery it next door for me, and it’s never longer than 15 minutes. I can’t give them 5 stars because of the overly greasy food, but overall, I order all the time

I am sorry but this place is not the best Chinese restaurant, actually there aren’t good Chinese restaurants in Katy. This place was the best before they sold their business and moved locations. They started making their food for white people. Tasteless and plain gross. I remember when this restaurant was a hole in the wall off i10 and the owner would serve the food. I stopped coming here years ago.

I’ve eaten at this restaurant many times for lunch and never had a bad experience. Most of their business is carry-out or delivery so the dining room is generally quiet. The service is usually prompt, the food properly cooked, the ingredients fresh. They make a decent egg foo young, though the sauce is a bit sweet for my taste. They don’t break any new gastronomic ground, but the food & service is dependable. Zara’s recent review is a complete mystery, as I have been frequenting this place for at least the last 4 years and never had or witnessed such an experience.

If you’re looking for a Chinese Lunch Option here in Katy — DONOTPICKTHISPLACE… first of all it took over an hour for my food to be delivered and when I called them to check on the status, they told me it was because the cooks came in late today.(How is that my problem) They were not apologetic, they could care less. Then AFTERWAITINGOVERANHOUR… the food literally looked like Plastic Food. The Soup was a neon yellow. I don’t remember any chickens laying RAVELIKEEGGS, and the Shrimp in my order looked and tasted rubbery. The free egg roll had old cabbage in it. Everything had a greyish, hue to it. I will never eat here, nor will any one of my co-workers. If I could give this place negative stars then I would.

Today was the second time I’ve dined at China Inn. Both times the service was good as well as the food. The first time I went I got the House Lo Mein, sesame chicken, and an appetizer of a sort of fried wonton filled with cream cheese. I would give the food/service a 5⁄5 stars, but I did not like the sesame chicken. It had an odd taste, but my dinner guest seemed to enjoy it. As for Chinese food in Katy, TX, this restaurant is a good choice.

I’ve been eating here for over 10 years. I’ve lived in San Antonio and Dallas, and have yet to find a Chinese restaurant with their quality of food. Large portions, good cuts of meat and great service, every time I visit it’s a must.

China Inn’s Food and Service keeps degrading! If you ask for spicy either they will make it crazy spicy that nobody can eat or they will just give you bland food! Managers are not willing to do anything if you complain! No wonder it’s ghost town whenever you go!

I have eaten here several times and it seems like it gets worse each time. I’m not sure if it has changed owners recently but the food was very very bad. The chicken was raw and it’s not the first time. I actually called them today because they forgot several items in my order(my soup, my egg roll, sweet n sour sauce, and soy sauce) and spoke to a woman who calmed to be the manager and owner. I could not believe how rude she was on the phone !!! She was so rude and disrespectful that I had to finally tell her I was shocked that she talked to her customers like this and then hung up. I won’t be ordering food from here again. Fortune Village is much better and there meat is much better quality IMO, and I have never had it served to me raw like at China Inn.

I was skeptical at first, but I was pleasantly surprised! Food was excellent and service was excellent as well! Bathroom needed a little attention, but the overall experience was great!

They have the best hot and sour soup I have ever eaten. They are a family run business and work very hard. However, their service is extremely unfriendly. It is almost like you are imposing on them in some way. Further, the restaurant can be unclean at times and the kitchen staff regularly chops veggies on a restaurant table while they are eating. Gross! We used to love going here when they were on Katy Freeway. They included your drink in the lunch specials. No longer. Since moving to the Grand Parkway is when we began to see unsanitary behavior. The last time we were there, we all sat in a booth. Our children pointed out the nasty build up of dirt, grime and crumbs on the window sill next to our booth. Yikes!

This place is the best of the best! Chinese food is great and the service is superb. My wife and I have been going to China Inn all the way back to when they used to be in their old location on the Katy Freeway. Their Hot and Sour soup has so much flavor. The shopping strip they are in somewhat lacks appeal, but this place is worth every penny you pay for the food. Most of the folks working at this place have been there for a long time. Food is always perfect! They also have Take Out and Delivery Service. 5 star place all the way around from service and food quality!

I would like to clear up one misconception about this place. It was stated that this was the best Chinese food in Katy. That is just not the case. To further this point, this establishment never made such a claim. They actually stated that they are the best Chinese Delivery Service in Katy. Because I was in the area and decided to stop at this place, I can neither confirm nor deny such a claim. This place is spacious and has a nice ambience. This place is not over the top extravagant by any means, but it is definitely nowhere near a hole in the wall. In regards to service, there was not anything outstanding about the service provided, but they also were not rude by any means. I noticed that they did sale a Chinese soft drink, which I thought was interesting, but stayed away from just in case it was something too extreme tasting. There is plenty of variety on the menu, but I was not a big fan of their pricing. Not that they are overly pricey, but I think that some of the offerings could be a little cheaper. I decided on my selections, fried chicken wings and house combination fried rice, and was told I was going to have a 10 minute wait. No problem what so ever… and 4 minutes later I had my food. The wings had a nice color and texture to them. I bit into them, and that is where the pleasure to meet them ended. There was not a wow factor with the wings. No taste that would make me desire them a second time. This was just well fried chicken for appearance sake. I am not sure if any spices were invited to the party! In regards to the combination rice, which has chicken, shrimp and pork throughout, this was nothing to write home about either. I wish I would have remembered to ask for duck sauce, because the bold flavor of great Chinese food was missing. I would have to admit that I liked that they did not skimp on the rice or various meats. I am not certain it is even possible to take a fork full of rice and not have some meat on your utensils. I was at least pleased that my carnivorous side was happy. I think my carton was a little too small for a $ 9 fried rice, but they did pack it to the max. All in all, this is a decent place. Nothing to write home to momma about, but when all other options fail, or just too darn far, this place will do in a pinch.

I’ve been eating here with my family for awhile now and have had a decent experience until today. I placed an order for lunch and to my surprise the rice tasted really off that I don’t even know how to describe it. The chicken tasted horrible. It was hard and the sauce tasted horrible. It was almost like I got yesterday’s bad food microwaved. I will never go back there again.

If this is the best Chinese in Katy, I don’t know what that says about everyone else. The menu is full of the standard Americanized Chinese food. I had the lunch special of orange chicken with egg drop soup and fried rice. The egg drop soup was an orange color and looked super oily, and whatever they added had no flavor. There were no vegetables like I had hoped(and come to expect). First disappointment. Then the rest came out. The orange chicken was good compared to Panda Express, but again not saying too much. The fried rice however was disappointing. It was kind of dry, and the vegetables and egg bits were sparse. The spring roll was very greasy and didn’t have much flavor. Another member in my party ordered the sweet and sour chicken lunch special, but it resembled chicken nuggets with a bland sweet sauce on the side. Needless to say, I will continue my search for good Chinese food.

Tried China Inn Café based on Unilocal rating. Overall, it was a good experience. We ordered three dishes. Pepper Steak, General Tso’s, and Delight of Kung Pao. The first two dishes were well cooked and delicious. However, even tho I ordered Delight of Kung Pao(beef, chicken, shrimp, scallops with broccoli –Spicy), I later realized after scanning the take out menu, that I got the Triple Delight(chicken, shrimp, scallops with pea pods –mild.) The Triple Delights was good with the exception that the shrimp were over-cooked. Service was great.

We were taken here by a friend for a very late lunch/early dinner. I’m not a huge connoisseur of chinese food, but what i had was great. I had the«Delight of Kung Po,» a mixture of chicken, beef, shrimp and scallops in a spicy brown kung po sauce. It was the perfect mixture of spicy and… brown. Add in some Sriracha hot sauce found on the table, and I was sweating in no time. Came with a generous helping of fried rice on the side. Little disappointed by that. Not a whole lot of flavor or other vegetables. I think I found one pea in the entire helping. Otherwise it was good. If I lived in Katy, or TX for that matter, I’d definitely be back!
