We were out and about today in the area and wanted a sweet treat so we stopped in. The store is very small and they didn’t have a wide variety of items to choose from despite having been open only about an hour. We bought the last 4 cake balls, 1 chocolate cupcake, and one red velvet cupcake. The cake balls were by far the best thing we purchased. They were pretty awesome. Super rich and moist, a fantastic 2/3-bite treat. The cupcakes were not as great. The chocolate cupcake was on the dry side and the buttercream frosting was a bit too sweet and there was a bit too much. Perhaps if there was less of it, then it wouldn’t have seemed so overpowering. It also tasted strongly of Hershey’s syrup, although I have no clue if that’s how they make it. The red velvet cupcake had the best consistency and was moist and fresh. However, once again the frosting left much to be desired. A little too heavy on the cream cheese and not exactly sweet enough. Also, it was a little runny. Overall it wasn’t a horrible experience, just average. But if I’m going to spend $ 2.50(not too pricey) on a cupcake I’ll go somewhere else. Since it’s not really near my house I don’t see us returning any time soon. The $ 1.49 cake balls were delicious, but not worth the drive for us.
