Save yourself some time and skip this place. How Avalon stays in business will be a mystery to me. I setup weekly pickup, and not once in 5 weeks did they come on the scheduled day. I was forced to call them every week to get them to come by. One would think that after a week or two they would fix the problem, but they still don’t come as scheduled. When I call the morning after my scheduled date, no one one is available to speak until after 10am. Save yourself a headache and use someone else.

I opted to give the cleaner a try as there are so few cleaners that will launder and fold men’s shirts(a must for a business traveler in my opinion). Initially, I was very happy with their service and admittedly, their work. Where I ran into trouble was with escalating costs seemingly at the whim of whomever was at the counter. Most recently, I was told that I would need to pay an additional $.25 per shirt if I wanted same day service(which had been their standard) as I wanted them folded(already at an additional $ 1.00 per shirt). I challenged the charge as I had not run into that before and the ticket indicated that the shirts would be ready the same day. Ultimately, they acquiesced«just this time». When I returned, I was told by the same attendant that«if I hadn’t have come back that day, she was going to charge me» for the same day service. I mentioned that I felt they were already a bit expensive and she became indignant, proceeding to lecture me on how she had«17 years of experience» in the industry and how less expensive are cleaners are more likely to use chemicals that«give people cancer». While I’m happy for the unsolicited PSA, what I felt unnecessary was her level of condescension. Thus, I’ll offer my PSA — there is no shortage of cleaners in and around the Cinco Ranch and Grand Lakes area and alienating clients(even those who quibble over a quarter) is no way to retain said clients. And this client is off to the next cleaner — perhaps one where they understand that you don’t strike smug tones with the paying public.

I only gave them one star because it wouldn’t let me go lower! NEVER use this dry cleaner. I dropped off several suits and dress shirts on Thursday and confirmed with the lady that I wanted«same day service». I came back right before closing and she said she«forgot» to put them in the correct bin. She stated that she would have the ordered«rushed» so that they would be available by 11AM the next day(I had a work event on Friday evening and a funeral Saturday morning). My wife tried to pick up my clothes at 11AM on Friday, as promised, and it still was not done! Finally, around 3PM they call my wife and ask what she«urgently» needs as the order still isn’t done! They delivered, and tried to charge us for delivery, a jacket that I need for that evening. I personally went up there Saturday morning, prior to the funeral, and they couldn’t find the rest of my order. I sat there and sat there while they looked through their racks. They were able to find a shirt(still missing a suit and three other shirts). It is now Monday, and they still don’t know what happened to my clothes!

NEVER use this cleaner. In addition to being incompetent they are dishonest. They lost a dress shirt that belongs to my 13 year old son. They started by telling me it was being cleaned and to «come back tmrw». I came back the next day and they still couldn’t find It. Manager said«hi buy another shirt and I will pay for it, just bring in receipt». As he had a school event where he needed a shirt and tie and he never wears it but for school I was hesitant but bought another one. Took him the receipt and he said«come back in a day or two and the check will be waiting». So came back and no check and no excuse. if you have anything you don’t want to lose or replace I suggest you find another cleaner.
