This show is basically Disney’s version of a luau, but without the food. This is a show only that happens only 2 nights a week at the Aulani. They happen on Mondays and if I remember correctly, the other day is Thursday. The show is free for resort guests with a wristband. We waiting in line about an hour before the show, some people waited even earlier since there was quite a line by the time we got in line. They start letting people in about 30 minutes or so before the show. Every party will get a straw mat, which I think is nice because it «saves» your personal space. The size of your party will determine how big of a mat you get. You do not get to choose where you sit. They ask you how many people, you are given your mat and told where to go, and another person lays down your mat for your spot. They seat people row by row, so you could be one of the people waiting earlier in line and still get a seat towards the outer edge. We ended up being seated more towards the outer edge. During this time, there are a few activity stations set up to keep you entertained, where you can make little crafts. Mostly kids go to do them. I actually wanted to go do some, but the mats are lined up touching one another, so in order to get out, you would be walking over other people’s mats. There is literally no walking space. They pack in as many people as they can. If you are handicapped or have issues with sitting and standing, there are chairs in the last few rows in the back for those people. They are very efficient and seat people incredibly fast! The show itself is pretty entertaining. It was my first«luau» experience. They had a host, a signer, 2 guys playing the ukulele, dancers and hula girls. The show moved pretty fast. I loved all the performances. I think the show lasted about an hour. At the end of the show, during the last 15 minutes or so, the Disney characters come out! The classic characters come out: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald. One of my favorite characters Stitch came out! You can’t put Hawaii and Disney together without having Stitch!!! I was so excited because I was looking for Stitch everywhere since coming to Aulani! They all come out dressed in Hawaiian garb. At this point they get everyone to stand up and dance! It was really fun! If you happen to be staying at the Aulani during the show days for this show, don’t miss it! It was very entertaining and fun! A not to be missed experience at the Aulani. Besides, it’s already included and there is no need to pay extra for this show! I would for sure watch it again if I’m at the Aulani on a show day!
