Awesome varieties of orchids I’ve never seen before. I probably took a dozen photos before I noticed the wall sign that said «no pics please
Without Asking» oops. The orchid lady gave me advice on how to care for my orchids at home although I think it takes a special kinda person to care for and bloom an orchid. I just don’t think I have an orchids green thumb. Awed and envious and inspired, Hawaii has it all.

While in Hawaii I visited Orchid Alley on December 22, I wanted to send my mother an orchid for Christmas and thought that the 2^nd day air delivery would get the orchid there on the 24^th. They explained it would most likely arrive AFTER Christmas, since I wanted the orchid to arrive in good condition I told them it would be fine to mail it AFTER the holiday. It appears they did not understand that I would rather it be late in good condition than late in poor condition so they sent it out that day. My mother received it on December 28^th in extremely poor condition. When contacting Orchid Alley they said I had INSISTED that it be shipped that day, which is NOT TRUE! I have to admit the Orchids are Beautiful. However, it appears their monopoly on the orchid business leaves them exempt from provide quality customer service.

Very nice little shop with beautiful orchids. Paid to go into the butterfly garden. The big koi, Romeo, in the pond is such a trip. He has puppy dog eyes and will stare into your soul. The only thing I didn’t like is that the butterflies were so frantic. They really seemed to want desperately to escape the netted garden and fly free outside.

If you blink you’ll miss this little place. Seriously an alley! But filled with tons of beautiful orchids and strange plants. If you find yourself wanting to buy something to bring back to the mainland, save yourself A TON OF TROUBLE and pay to have the plants shipped. Trying to get through the airport with any type of plant, flower, or fruit is gonna set you back and cause you unneeded frustration. Like the Lihue airport isn’t frustrating enough already. Oh, and, by the way. When my husband and I went, there were only 2 butterflies in the butterfly exhibit… which is the size of a walk in closet and mostly taken up but a koi pond with 2 fish. Definitely not worth the $ 50.

My wife and I were driving by on the highway and we decided to stop in here because we thought it looked really cool. They have an orchid that smells like CHOCOLATE! So cool and they cane package it and deliver it if you need. They also have a really cool butterfly garden in the back! I loved this place and so did my wife it was a nice little stop on our explorations.

Fantastic place! I bought a phalaenopsis orchid from them about a month ago, when we were on Kauai. It was just the beginning of our holiday, so they kept it there for me and sent it to New York this past Monday, upon our return. I received the plant today and I’m ecstatic! It bloomed very nicely while still in their custody and now it looks spectacular. The leaves are intact and juicy and so are the roots, very healthy. I will do my best to care and cherish it for as long as possible.
Not to mention, the owners are ever so nice. Polite, helpful and very knowledgeable. The next time I find myself in Kapaa, I will definitely stop by.

Definitely come in. Best souvenir ever. This is a small storefront on the main street and absolutely worth the walkthrough. The owner just added some local wares to the back of the store and you can see that the owners have a passion for their business.

Lovely selection and very nice people who run it. The pictures on here actually don’t do it justice.
I was given a miniature phael in a cute pewter pot from here last year that someone told me would be difficult to get to re-bloom, but it’s been blooming again for months now.
I don’t think they’re the cheapest place on the island to get orchids, but they’re fun to visit too if you’re wandering around old town Kapaa.
