Cute dainty little restaurant along the canal. Chill and vintage ambiance, wide selection of delectable fancy dishes. The owners here are ever so sweet and sincere. I brought my grandma here one evening to have some desserts. We got a chocolate soufflé which they make fresh and the dessert sampler that had tiramisu, chocolate pot and Iilikoi cream something. They were all amazing, what amazed me most the courteousness and friendliness of the staff and owners.

One of my faves, but know what u want before getting there helps if you have time constraints. Since food is pretty fresh takes a while sometimes

Ok. So this is Kauai. Everything is going to be much slower, but this places takes it a whole new level. Terrible customer service. Literally ignored. Table next to us was seated afterwards, but water and drink orders were given and received first. We waited over 20 minutes and still nobody. I apparently wasn’t feeling this place so we left. Hey, Hemingway Café, good customer service brings in good dining experiences. Just say’n.

Omg best best best best food in downtown Las Vegas. Try the waterfall beef and the dipping sauce if you like vinegar. You can’t go wrong at this place. Worth every penny!!! We go back every time.

I’m in love with this place! The Nutella crêpe, the omelette, the chai latte, the espresso, the list goes on and on. It’s an organic and healthy café with mom and pop working in the kitchen. She even makes her own yogurt. It is amazing!

Update: we came back here for breakfast the next day, and I wanted to add that the food was just as good as the night before! We got to eat outside this time and it was so adorable. We were also happy to discover that they use local, sustainable ingredients and that everything is made from scratch + love :) If you visit Kauai I highly recommend this place over any of the larger, «fancy» restaurants if you’re looking for a nicer meal– the food is is perfectly proportioned, flavored, and priced. Had dinner here last night and planning on coming here for breakfast today! Our bruschetta, Kauai Prawn curry and the Moroccan style lamb were excellent. The real star though was the Dessert Trio of Chocolate Pot de Crème, Lilikoi Panna Cotta, and Tiramisu. We were also happy to have been able to eat so many delicious plates and not feel overly full! You will leave here satisfied with the food, atmosphere, and service. I’d also like to point out that you can really tell that the owners and his staff really care about you having a good experience without being overbearing. I wish this restaurant was back home in Seattle :(

Unique find on Eastside. If you are tired of resorts, same macadamia nut mahi mahi you find on almost every menu, resort pricing, and pseudo Hawaiian/Polynesian décor… you are in for a TREAT. Renovated old home, interesting art on the walls and gallery above, French/Euro inspired menu and very eclectic combinations/flavors. Carrot soup with coconut foam was wonderful as a starter. Moroccan inspired lamb was a spicy tasty main course. Scallops and prawns only seafood on entire menu! Very laid back almost French bistro feel. Even wine selection featured more European labels than American. Half the price of J02, more interesting food, but not as fancy food presentation either. Both restaurants have their places and happy to see both thrive as relatively new additions to the Coconut Coast. And kudos to Art Café for using real candles rather than those cheap plastic votives made in China(ok my pet peeve). Took effort to navigate menu with a dairy allergy but found choices every course except dessert. Call to make a reservation. No view but who cares. Their food is the attraction. Best and most unique meal of 3 week stay. Recommend

LILIKOIPANNACOTTA!!! Ok. Now that I have your attention… try the Panna Cotta. It’s heavenly. Meanwhile…This is my «clean breakfast» spot. By which I mean, the food doesn’t weigh me down. I feel good after I eat here and not like I’m in a grease coma. The muesli is perfection every time. The breads and croissants and spreads are delicious. The crepes are legitimate crepes and always made just right. Everything is awesome. You cannot go wrong. But if you only have room for one thing. Trust me on the Lilikoi Panna Cotta.

Very wonderful!!! The espresso was grand. Real espresso. Complex and strong. I had a drink call the Bomb. Two shots of espresso over condensed milk. Creamy caffeine and sugar. What else is there?!? The croissants wonderful, I had two. One with honey and one with scrambled egg and lox. Everyone was friendly, even the chef thanked us. I can wait to return.

Art Café Hemingway is a sweet hidden spot on Kauai. The atmosphere is a twist of modern and vintage art décor. Inside of the café the lovely artistic designs decorate the café itself. The aesthetic of the interior is delightful and visually stimulating. That being said, it’s a great place to relax and have a quiet and enjoyable breakfast. We tried a few different dishes, and I must say the«True at First Light» breakfast was really great. The omelette was delicious! My breakfast croissant sandwich on the other hand had been a little over cooked & the bottom of the croissant bread was burnt. Other than that it was a great experience and we will definitely be back to enjoy the dinner menu another time.

Highly recommended for brunch. The outdoor seating area is cute. We tried their croissants, one with Hawaiian honey and butter, another with aged Gouda, scrambled eggs, tomato and lettuce. Both very delicious. One star less cuz the restroom was a lil stinky. Update: Went back to this café, after dining at 20+ places in our week long vacation and was reminded that it earned five stars on the first visit for damn good reasons. We had tiramisu and a coffee concoction called Bombon, excelente!

Darn good croissant, and loved that they had free wifi. The best part though was the thoughtful service. Even after we paid the bill, we sat on the front lanai for a bit while we took care of some calls. Out lovely server came out with a carafe of lemon infused water and two glasses of ice. So thoughtful!

One of the best places I ate at while in Kauai hands down! The restaurant itself is very cute. I loved the décor with the different tables, chairs, and artwork. It really looked like something you would find in Europe. The waitresses were all very friendly and sat me right away and my food was brought out pretty quick. I ordered the breakfast special that came with musili and eggs. It was absolutely perfect. The eggs were cooked just right, the musili was very flavorful, and the bread all tasted fresh. The price was also very affordable. One of the best bang for your buck placed on the island.

Delicious. Got here first thing, and breakfast was fantastic. We shared a croissant and nutella crêpe and then each had breakfast entrees. The coffee was fantastic and they even made me a decaf latte. Serious was great and love the feel of the place — very New Englandy. Hemingway would be proud.

Loved this little place! The crepes were something special and I so enjoyed the croissants. Another fun surprise was the house made syrups for the coffee products! They have a nice atmosphere, not quite tropical but certainly beachy and eclectic. The only ding I’d give is the service. Our gal seemed a bit put off by us and the time it took us to decide what we wanted(it was our first time at the restaurant so we took some time to decide) but it may have been that she was busy. Our food all came out at different times, too. A little more smiling would go a long way :) That being said, I’d definitely go back. I absolutely enjoyed the breakfast we had and our time at this restaurant!

This is one of the finest meals I have ever had, and from a little restaurant in the city of Kapaa on the island of Kauai. A very comfortable place with a nice porch area if you want to eat outside. Art Café Hemingway has a great meal and cocktail menu — with many Glutton Free options. Also, their fondue is made with cheese imported from Switzerland. I had the Scallops with Cilantro Pesto on Angel Hair pasta. It included five perfectly cooked scallops individually topped with the Cilantro Pesto, which looked like small heapings of wasabi. It was sublime — the pesto was not over-powering and accented the scallops perfectly. The Angel Hair pasta was tossed with olive oil and with a little pepper to give it a surprising, but very pleasant heat. The rest of our table had the Moroccan Lamb with Basmati Rice(baked with dried mango, ginger, Maui onions and served with sour cream and fresh Cilantro), Gnocchi on Sage Butter with Gorgonzola Dip, and the Lamb Sausage with mashed potatoes and Tomato Compote. The prices are extremely good — especially for the quality of the meal. If you are staying in Kauai and want to take a little break from the local cuisine and looking for a fine dining experience, please check out Art Café Hemingway. You will not be disappointed.

Best place my whole trip. I would go for breakfast lunch and dinner every day honestly. Lots of choices, went with some fresh organic ham and eggs, gluten free whole grain breads with strawberry marmalade(that was absolutely breathtaking; the bread is very soft and flavorful and the preserves freshly made.) Each bite got a bit of goat cheese and who doesn’t love that?! Meal Came with freshly squeezed OJ, but I couldn’t resist a cappuccino since they are just so dang pretty! Raved about it all day to people Looking for a good place to leave them WOW’d

I came here for brunch and dinner and both meals were excellent. They served simple european style breakfast containing bread and butter, muesli, scrambled eggs, omelettes, etc. For dinner, I remember the lobster ravioli was particularly delicious. This is easily the best restaurant I visited on Kauai and I’ll definitely come back when I’m in the area.
