I have a lot of memories of visiting KC when I was younger and getting cinnamon popcorn balls. I came here to buy some for a family member who lives in HI and was disappointed that there were no cinnamon popcorn balls. Also the service here was not friendly or welcoming. There were 3 – 4 women behind the counter, no one offered a greeting or help. When I finally made my selection, I had to say, I’m ready to check out as they were not interested in helping me. Hope the popcorn still tastes the same!

Topsy’s has, hands down, the best popcorn I’ve ever had(and probably the best popcorn on earth). I was born in Kansas City, and though I only lived there for two years, my grandparents lived there until my grandfather’s death in 2002, so I considered it a second home(we would visit at least once a year, but often more). And when we’d visit, we’d often get popcorn from Topsy’s(along with limeade). Now I’m in Colorado Springs, but for the past several years my parents have ordered a tin of Topsy’s popcorn with three flavors(cinnamon, caramel, and cheese) for Christmas. It still doesn’t disappoint. I’ve had people tell me «popcorn is popcorn.» I gave these people a sample of Topsy’s, and they were no longer able to hold that position. Topsy’s is seriously amazing, and fully deserving of all five stars.

We went for ice cream. It was frothy and liquidy on top. I asked the ladies behind the counter if it was frozen and they said no but they put it in a cup. Yuck. Another negative– there is no seating.

I am so so disappointed with Topsy’s Popcorn. They have taken what has been a family tradition during Christmas for years and simply ruined it. Every year, I have ordered popcorn for my family. I order it in middle of November and have it shipped out two weeks before Christmas. Every year it is an expected and wonderful gift to all my family. This year Topsy’s was having issues with their web-site when I went to place the order. No other shipping date other than«now» could not be entered. I called them and they said they were having issues with the web-site but to put the date I wanted the order shipped on the order and all would be fine. I did just that but two days later I received an email saying the packages had all been shipped. Keep in mind that this was 4 weeks before they should have been shipped. I called to stop the order and was told that it was to late. So after going back and forth with them trying to explain that I had ordered Christmas popcorn and not a week before Thanksgiving popcorn, Melissa ensured me that she would ship new packages out on December 5th. Somewhat relieved, I contacted all my family to tell them of the mix up and that they would be getting a second order in December. I waited until December 5th and called Topsy’s to ensure orders were going out. I tried for over a week to get in touch with someone and every time I called the phone was busy. I truly called no less than 30 times. I sent two email’s to them and got no response. Today I finally got in touch with Melissa and she now says she never would have told me that she would reship the packages. A complete lie. Her promise was the only reason at the time that I did not contact my credit card company to stop the charges. I explained that even on my order, it shows to ship the product on December 5th. Her response, this seems to have happened to a number of customers. She then asked if my family received the product. I said they received your mess up order but not their Christmas order. Her response«So they got popcorn. What’s the issue?» My grandmother use to go to Patsy’s which was the start of Topsy’s back in the 50’s. My mother worked at Topsy’s when she was in high school. Topsy’s had been a family tradition in our family for over 60 years. We have probably spent over $ 25,000 on popcorn over that period of time. Because of this one situation and the lack of customer support from just a few bad employee’s this tradition will be no longer. I would really suggest looking somewhere else for holiday treats.

Topsy’s makes the best cinnamon popcorn! There are varying sizes, perfect for gift giving and somehow it stays fresh for a month. There is also a mixed popcorn(cheddar, caramel, cinnamon) that’s a hit with my family; I’ll be serving it at Thanksgiving.

Topsy’s is the top when it comes to popcorn in spades! If you have never been this is definitely a stop you should make, while shopping in country club plaza at the holiday’s. I highly recommend the Cinnamon Popcorn for any first timer’s to Topsy’s. It is the perfect balance of sweet and saltiness.(I have not found it anywhere but here, and that is just fine for me, it makes the trip more special when I come to get it once a year.) It goes great in a last minute addition to a chex mix for the holiday’s or makes an awesome popcorn ball for when you are craving some sweet. They offer pre-filled tins with a selection of cheese, caramel and cinnamon popcorn, but along with the popcorn they also offer other yummy goodies to partake in. Here is a tip to remember though, if you get one of the tins, remember to clean them out when you are done, and take them back on your next trip to KC, and they will refill them for you at a small cost, but it is worth every penny. So, if you are in KC and in the plaza shopping, stop by Topsy’s on Central, and get some of the best popcorn around!

Their popcorn is good. The store is just way too small.
