The Salon

Erin at The Salon is a hairstyling ninja. She was great — friendly, a real pro, and very sweet. My hair needed help after a layered bob didn’t quite work out. She not only fixed my hair, but put me in a good mood and left me feeling fabulous.

Used a Groupon for cut, shampoo, style and either all over color or highlights for $ 59. I had Erin, from Wisconsin, as my stylist. We hit it off right away! We talked over some ideas for my upcoming destination wedding, like having a trial run with pictures before I go to the Caribbean, as well as a plan to get my hair as long as possible. I’d recommend The Salon to anyone looking for a new salon at reasonable prices and with great advice!

I’ve had about 25 facials in my life, in KC and LA. This was, by far, the worst and weirdest facial I have ever had in my life. First, it wasn’t a real facial (no extractions), she was rough in her touch and brisk, constantly knocking into the table, the massage was pretty awful, the music she played terribly unrelaxing (the nutcracker), she cleaned loudly and kept hitting the table while I was supposed to be resting during the masque. The salon was loud as could be and heard clearly through the door. I didn’t even tip and I ALWAYS tip, that’s how stinkin’ bad this massage was. I couldn’t bring myself to tip at all.

I think The Salon is great. I have only been to Monica but I have been very pleased with her; she does a fabulous job with color. I have been all over the board the last couple years and she has done highlights, all over color etc. — doing a great job every time!

I have had my hair dyed here a few times and have left happy most of the time. However this last time was terrible. The young lady who dyed my hair did not listen to my requests and I left there with chunky blonde streaks and damaged hair! Would go back to this salon for a simple hair cut but never again for a hair dye!

They were able to accomodate me on short notice. Everyone was polite and professional, I left very happy and will most likely become a repeat customer.

Our mission at The Salon was wedding hair, all 5 of us bridesmaids at the same time. Some got eyelashes, some got make up. We kept the wonderful ladies at The Salon busy on St. Patrick’s Day 2012.
I am from St. Louis and had no idea how big of a deal St. Patrick’s day is in KC. The traffic was horrendous! But I’m sure I’m preaching to the choir.
Anyhow, we were able to enjoy the day, the front desk person was super nice and constantly attending to us, and anything we could need. Our stylists were awesome. Mine in particular was able to perform magic on my thin lifeless hair and I may even drive the 4 hours to get my hair cut by her! Loved her, she was so sweet!

I have been going to the same salon for 13 years. My co workers were dishing their hair secrets last week about a new girl at The Salon named Sara. I decided I would give her a shot. I tell ya I will never be returning to my old salon. The shampooing was heavenly and she talked me into a style just a little bit different from what I did in the past and it turned out amazing. I arrived a little early and she was just finishing a color client and she looked gorgeous. I will be recommending Sara to all my friends men and women.

After hearing rave reviews from friends and co-​workers alike, I finally decided to give The Salon a shot. On Tuesdays they run a special for ½ all salon services (except waxing) so I figured this was as good of a day as any to give them a try. I called in Tuesday morning and spoke with a very friendly woman who was able to get me an appointment that very afternoon, I was SO excited. When I arrived, I was greeted by a woman who I believe is the owner, and soon after I was greeted by my massage therapist, Katie. She was so friendly! I got the full body massage and it was amazing, by far the best massage that I have ever have. My experience at The Salon was a very good one, and I look forward to going back after the holidays! I would highly recommend The Salon to anyone!

Went in for an updo. My stylist, Marisol, did a wonderful job on both my hair and my sister-in-law’s. The owner came by to introduce himself, and was very friendly. I would definitely return. The prices are really great; its a very nice salon, but they don’t charge you an arm and a leg. Despite the low prices, the staff is professional and talented.

Bride had to pay a deposit for wedding party that company tried to keep because of a «policy» that was never disclosed by the company or mentioned on the website. Clearly, the company was being very dishonest.
A day or two before the wedding, two guests (who were not a part of the wedding party) made appts but then canceled their appointments because of a time conflict. Although these appointments were made a day before the wedding, were separate from the wedding party and were not used to calculate the deposit, after services were rendered, they claimed that they were entitled to keep the deposit there was a four week cancellation policy.
They represented that the four week cancellation policy was explained on the website. However, on the website all they have listed under the cancellation policy is a right to charge if someone misses more than one appointment. None of these individuals had gone to this salon before. There is absolutely nothing on the website about a three or four week cancellation policy or a deposit. Clearly they were being deceitful either by not clearly disclosing all their policies or making them up so that they can get more money.
The worst thing was their unprofessionalism and how rude they were to everyone in the wedding party including the bride.
In the end, we felt cheated and had to pay more for our hair styles than originally agreed upon
