I prefer to reserve my 5-star restaurant ratings for those venues that go above and beyond. Great food, ambiance, service, and experience. Seasons 52 has met and exceeded those expectations every time I have dined with them over the past three years. My most recent trip was no different. Beautiful night on the Plaza celebrating an early Valentine’s Day dinner in style. Seated promptly by the hostess and greeting promptly by our server. She took a little extra time returning, perhaps 3 – 5 minutes. It wasn’t usually long or painful but she offered to buy us a flatbread($ 15 normally) because of our wait. A nice gesture, though certainly not necessary. As described, it was delicious — a lobster and crème thin and crispy flatbread. Seasons prides itself on making great meals without overdoing the calorie count. My short rib on cheddar grits with purple carrots was only about 700 calories. Most of their meals are in the 500 — 700 range. We tried to explain this to a group inquiring where to go for dinner — their response was«we can’t live without butter in our meal.» At Seasons 52 you can because everything tastes great. My wife had lamb chops, perfect prepared and garnished. Throw in some roasted brussels sprouts and we were ready for dessert. No waiting on their desserts here. When the tray of «tall shot glass» desserts comes around, pick the one you want and grab it immediately. They are small enough to have everyone eat one(or share) without feeling the guilt of a two pound cheesecake or lava cake. Meals will always be a little pricier on the Plaza but at Seasons it is well worth it. Great food, great service, great atmosphere equals a great time. Five stars is a given anywhere that can deliver these kinds of results.

Really nice place to eat. The food was great. The service was better. Great for people with food allergies.

We went here for the first time last night. Very nice atmosphere and a good wine list. I got the half chicken and my husband got a steak. His came out great and he enjoyed it. My food was good but I asked for extra veggies instead of potatoes… i got 6 carrots, that was it! I asked the person who brought our food(not our waitress, who, by the way, was never around), they did bring extra with no question and agreed that there should have been more on my plate. We weren’t impressed with our waitress. We wanted some bread before our meal to tide us over since we were pretty hungry, we didn’t get the bread until after our meal arrived and had to ask twice. The desserts were really small and honestly not great, not something I would recommend.

We went there for Mother’s Day. The ambiance is great. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the view of the fountain. The service was great. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. However, the food was just very mediocre. My mom got the scallops. It was cooked okay but it didn’t have much flavor. There is no sauce or anything which was fine because some people prefer it that way. I got the pork tenderloin and it seriously reminded me of high school cafeteria food. Will maybe go back there for a drink or something. But the food is not worth it.

What a great experience. This was a good date night choice with low lighting and a romantic feel. I tried their seasonal bourbon berry cocktail and it had fresh berry purée instead of the usual juice concentrates! That was a refreshing surprise. We got the scallops and the short rib, both great options. Put this one on your list.

This place is totally overrated. The service was excellent, but the food was disappointing. It was good, but not $ 30/plate good. I think they are relying on their location to keep busy because I’m really not sure why people come for the food. None of the food was bad, but just… Boring. We had the flatbread(nothing special), then the baked pear salad(the pears were huge, tough and dry), and then I had the shrimp and grits which just… Wasn’t inspired. The dessert platter with 9 different parfaits was very fun and well done. The cocktails, also, are very good. The meyer lemonade and especially the old fashioned(with a rock candy stir stick) did not disappoint. I would go back, and just sit at the bar.

I really like Seasons 52, despite my usual disdain for chains — they just do it RIGHT — service is always pretty much flawless, and dinner is consistently delicious. You tend to see the same manager on duty every time you’re there which I think also is a plus. Since their menu changes seasonally, it’s hard to recommend specific dishes, but I have recently enjoyed the scallops with butternut squash risotto more than once — so if they have that, GETIT.

Hands down this meal was above and beyond our expectations from the minute we arrived. We were shocked that there was still a very lively crowd on a weeknight at 9:00pm. Our server was very attentive and great at suggestions for food and wine. We enjoyed a salad to spit to start. We each ordered a steak dinner, which were cooked to perfection. The wine pairings were amazing. The service, food, presentation and value were all a 5! There is no way to say no to the desserts here, they are all bite sized servings and guilt free, not to mention delicious. We will be back sooner than later!

For me — hitting a place like this vs a small local farm to table café might not typically go so well. But Seasons 52 provides a nice, solid, consistent(yet still seasonal & every changing) menu. AND they have gone above and beyond to work with my dietary restrictions. I love their happy hour options, the entire menu(as well as the gluten-sensitive, & dairy-free menus). I feel it is a good spot to take a group, as there should be something to satisfy every taste and price point in your group. Myself and every person I have dined with have all been very happy with our meal choices, and portion sizes. Well, except for my Dad. He wanted his shrimp and grits to have more grits. But truly, that is a one off. I personally have taken a box home with more to eat the next meal at home. I have been very impressed with every interaction I have had, starting with reservations, host, servers, bartenders, and management. I simply don’t have anything critical I can say. For me, dining out is a risk, and a challenge. So any place that can put me at ease, serve me a safe dish, and treat me with kindness is going to earn my return visit.

Went here for dinner with a friend, and was pleasantly surprised at the menu variety & quality for a «chain» — even a high end chain Wait staff was friendly and wine list was large. Generous pours for the price!

First time here and I must say good job to myself on picking a random place and it actually being good. Thanks Unilocal for the help. Anyway fountain is front is lovely. Host are extremely lovely and conversational. We had a small talk before sitting down which is very nice of her. One sitting our waiter came and asked us for drinks, it took him a while to bring our waters, but not long enough to really worry. I wasn’t really thirsty though. But I hear the service is slow. I came in 30 mins after it open. Recently changing the menu on 11÷17÷15 the waiter explained some things and let us look. I got the flat iron steak with Yukon potatoes and Broccoli. They do medium steak very very well. My date got the glazed chicken which was gone, so I’m assuming it was good. Random love here is the salt and pepper shaker. It’s in one innovative tool that turns one way for salt and if you turn it the other way it’s for pepper! I’m sorry I love smart gadgets. They have a wide variety of drinks I’ll be surprised if you can’t find what you love here. Dessert is thee cutest. They come around with a flight of small desserts you will not feel bad about. I got the raspberry cannoli which was good. I would love to come back here. Very much inviting and the menu is changing by the SEASONSLOL. Love this.

Service was great! Dined in at the bar since it was a full house in main seating area. Ordered the butternut squash crème it was delicious! Also had the chefs suggested salad heirlooms tomatoes with crusted mozzarella and 15yr old balsamic vinaigrette tomatoes where good but the crusted mozzarella was bland didn’t taste good. The vinaigrette was also bland for the type described. Things got better when I got my entrée pork tenderloin with green beans and Brussel sprouts and sweet potato purée :) very delicious! Other menu selections sounds amazing kind of hard to make a choice. Will for sure visit again!

I’ve avoided Seasons 52 until now. Generally I’ve seen these restaurants in hotels which is never a good sign. I found myself in Kansas City looking for decent food with outdoor seating and Seasons 52 more than fit the bill. All-around a decent option if you’re in the neighborhood.

That feeling when you realize you live a couple blocks from a place that turns out to be really, really good… That’s what I’m feeling, you guys. I’ll admit I get into my habits of trying a new place, but then settling back into my old favorites. Rinse and repeat. I finally pulled the trigger on trying Seasons 52 for lunch as I felt like that would be a good way to see if the patio and interior were my kind of place, along with the menu itself. I’m a fan of eating healthy in general, but man oh man does that become damn near impossible in the deep dark winters of Kansas City. More of that in a bit. I tried a summertime classic on a blistering day(which, no coincidence had me dining inside rather than the patio.) The chicken Caprese sandwich, outfitted with a fresh grilled chicken breast, smothered in a light pesto sauce with more on the side, grilled tomatoes and a sprouted bread. All those ingredients are like keywords I’d input to put together an amazing lunch. While my friendly waitress tried to talk me into the potatoes, I had a busy afternoon and wanted to feel good for it and went with grilled ceasar broccoli. Loved it, and love having the option to have a huge plate of veggies as the side as we live in the land of freedom fries. The sandwich was equally incredible and priced well. Dinner is a bit higher but not over-the-top for a quality meal on the Plaza. I was glad I finally pulled the trigger and tried it out, and have been back twice so I feel like I’ve got a good grasp of what they’re all about. I love that the menu changes seasonally, thus the name. I’m excited to see what they can do to pry me away from a frozen pizza or easy take out that occupies many of my bad winter meal choices in a handful of months!

Nailed the fall flavors. Butternut squash soup and lamb chops with fresh mint are beautifully comforting and hearty. Juicy savory chops and perfect combo of salty sweet on squash. From desert flight: Petite pecan pie was rich and delicious, key lime tart and sweet but the blueberry and lemon curd won this gal over. Fresh plump blueberries swimming in a lemon curd like pudding. It wasn’t as sweet as the others. Equally as comforting was the service by the lovely Abigail. Sincere, quick and knowledgeable an absolute trifecta in service. Dark wood, clean lines, out door patio with fountain. It’s a good fit for the plaza. With all the easily accessible FREE parking garages, movie theater and coffee shops make it a good option for multiple occasions.

Went in with friends to sample Happy Hour. Their wine tasting was unusual and a pleasant change. They don’t make their own wine but sell only the wines that they think are the best. You get a choice of three, samplings of three wines and then have a glass of the one you like best. Including a flat bread of your choice make this a pretty reasonably price combination. Considering that the three glasses in the flight were closer to half glasses plus a glass of your favorite one make this a considerable amount of wine for the price. The food is all local and was excellant. I had a Prairie Mule in the traditional Copper Mug. Most places would say Moscow Mule but This is pretty much the same. If you have never had a drink in a copper mug you are in for a surprise. The temperature of the mug is transmitted evenly and you won’t believe how cold the mug stays.

«Are you sure this place is a chain??» The food is fresh and well thought-out.; the drinks and fun and strong. As others have noted, the wait staff is superb. The menu lists each items’ calories, which I personally appreciate. It gets crowded, so make a reservation! The flatbreads are the perfect appetizer. They are crispy and thin, as to not fill you up with too much bread. We tried the fig & bacon flatbread, which also featured arugula, caramelized onions, and a balsamic glaze. You will not be disappointed. If you like bourbon, I would recommend trying the New Old Manhattan. Again, you will not be disappointed. For the herbivores out there, I would recommend the vegetarian tasting entrée. They do mix up the veggies depending on what is in season. The cedar plank tofu is interesting and worth a try. It’s also a lot of food, so you will not leave hungry.

I can’t say much about the food because we were here for drinks on the last Saturday night of our trip. If you have an opportunity to sit in Trichelle’s section, do it. She’s pleasant, speedy, and knows all about the menu. We opted for an appetizer each with me selecting the hummus(yummy!) and my husband getting the caesar and kale salad(he also said yummy!). And then it was all about the drinks. Between us we had several of the cucumber basil smash, meyer lemonade, and strawberry basil infusion. The cucumber basil smash sounds gross, right? On a hot day, cucumber is pretty refreshing. You should probably like cucumber to enjoy this, though. Despite the meyer lemonade sounding like it would be lemony, I found it to taste more like the orange liquor. This was my husband’s favorite out of the three. The strawberry basil infusion is pretty good, too, as strawberry and basil just naturally go together. One thing to note is that each bartender makes the drinks a little bit different. Our first cucumber basil smash was hardly cucumbery and the second one was intensely cucumbery. As others have mentioned, Seasons 52 has a different menu each week of the year that focuses on the ingredients that are best at that time. At the time we went(first week of June) the best ingredients and what was prevalent throughout the menu was asparagus and snap peas. There is also a calorie cap and calories on every item are listed on the menu. There is a good mix of types of food here so I think everyone in your party could find something to eat.

My sister informed us that we’d be taking our mother to Seasons 52 for Mother’s Day Brunch. As a self-professed brunch whore, this was a pleasing thought. We arrived at Seasons 52 for our 10:30AM reservation and that’s when I learned that Seasons doesn’t have a brunch menu. At this point, I was hangry and needed a Snickers bar… add that to the fact that I’d been daydreaming of breakfast, and boy, I was in a foul mood. I thought, «What kind of sociopaths eat salads, seafood, and flatbreads at 10:30 in the freakin’ morning? Not me!» I felt the tantrum welling up inside. After counting to 10, meditating at the table, and downing a mimosa, I decided to go with the flow. After consulting with the waitress, I ordered the Southern Style Shrimp and Grits: sauté of shrimp, chorizo, bacon and sweet peppers over creamy cheddar grits(720 calories). My frown quickly faded when the dish arrived; it was delicious! The grits were a perfect consistency with a great cheddar flavor, large serving of shrimp, and a good portion of chorizo. I cleaned my plate in about 10 minutes, tops. This was my first exposure to Seasons 52 and I’ll be back again during my next trip to KC. Service: Our waitress Trishelle was top notch! Hopefully you’ll get lucky and get seated at her table for your next visit. Parking: Garage and street parking nearby. Valet at the entrance is $ 10.

We went here on a double date last night and had an absolutely lovely evening! I actually ordered a starter as my entrée because I was in the mood for something light — the salumi flatbread was absolutely delicious! The flatbread itself was very thin and crispy, almost like a cracker, which I quite enjoyed. The mozzarella and pesto had great flavor. The tomatoes were perfectly roasted and juicy. And the thin slices of salumi added that punch of salt. For dessert they offer minis — little desserts served tall shot glasses. My husband and I shared two. The first had a layer of chocolate cake which was covered my an even thicker layer of chocolate ganache and roped off with a toasted marshmallow. The second had two layers of chocolate cake, each topped with a layer of peanut butter mousse and peanuts. Both were the perfect fix for my sweet tooth!
