We were going to an outdoor event and really hadn’t planned on stopping and getting any beer, but at the last minute decided to get some and this place was on the way. What a find! It had every kind of alcohol one would want or need. I would have given it more stars but it wasn’t as clean as one would like, but I am sure it is busy and hard to keep up with! Parking was easy. Prices were good. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here but in the area again would choose it over the other few in the area.

Way shady… but you can usually get what you need. I have a HUGE issue with the fact that their phone is ALWAYS disconnected. If I’m looking for something specific, I’d like to call before coming here.

Beer or booze run @1am? This is your place. You pay for the convenience of having alcohol at your disposal @ 1am — higher prices… higher than a KS liquor store. But, if you had planned accordingly, you wouldn’t be here, people watching and paying extra money. Other than that, the guys who were working the night I stopped in were super nice.

Convenient. Prices okay. I’ve even used the gas pumps. Close to work. Right on the Boulevard. May not be super perty like Johnson County but it works.

I’m not sure if it’s how the entire front of the building is covered in bars, or if it’s the random bullet holes in the bullet-proof glass windows. But something about this place just draws me in. That’s right. I AM a fan of this delightfully sketchy liquor store. I typically only come here if I’m at some restaurant on the Boulevard and need a pack of smokes, but man is it a blast to browse and people watch. If I needed beer or liquor, they’d have that too. If I needed malt liquor… oh man, they’d DEFINITELY have that. They also have friendly employees, who either don’t notice or don’t care that they’re working at what pretty much amounts to a parody of a shady convenience store. Point is, in my experience at least, this place isn’t nearly as rough as it looks, and I’d say it’s worth a visit. I mean, don’t drive across town to check it out, but if you’re in the hood and need some hooch, check out Royal Liquors.

Do you have need of automotive supplies AND liquor? THENISTHISEVERTHEPLACEFORYOU! Pricey and run-down, but we were a captive audience because Rico’s across the street is BYOB and we required libation during our meal. I’d recommend fueling up before you make the trip over for Taco Tuesday, because $ 9-something for a six-pack of Coronas should be criminal.

This is probably the best option for a liquor store on the west side. Technically this place is affiliated with the Royal Liquors down south, but it caters to a totally different crowd. Hence, the cooler displays full of Four Loko, off-brand energy drinks and cans of malt liquor. If you delve a little deeper, you will find a respectable wine and beer selection, on par with most grocery stores. It also serves as a small convenience store with some grocery items like milk, cereal, canned goods and chips. All hard liquor is stored up behind the counter, which is not only annoying but occasionally creates backups while some guy weighs the price of vodka pints, then pays for it with change. But this place has character. The people who work here are very nice, despite their affinity for loudly cranked classic rock. The counter holds large jars of pickles, pigs feet, and hard boiled eggs in brine. You can get any kind of cigarette, cigarillo or blunt on the market. They get a few rough folks in here but seem to have a good relationship with their clientele and I’ve never seen anything sketchy(and I go here a lot). Best of all, if you want something that they don’t carry, they will get it for you. Anything available at the 103rd street store can be sold at this one. So if there is a special beer or wine you want to purchase regularly, let them know.
