Your typical dive bar, located in the heart of Waldo. Cheap drinks, and a dance floor with disco lights. Place has always been empty until about 1am hits, and when patrons from other bars are drunk enough to be loosened up. There is a $ 5 cover. Don’t forget to bring your safety whistle to ward away unelicited touch.

When trying to describe this bar I’m more confused and concerned than a blind person reading brail that says«do not touch». It’s like being a Chiefs fan screaming«FUCKYEAH!», while in the back of your mind you know it’s a big fat«What did I do to deserve this?». Sure, they’re open later than any other bar in Waldo, but I have plenty of beer at my house and I also don’t allow 30 year old tweevies in.(A tweevie is a guy who sniffs girl’s bicycle seats). Who am I to be the deciding factor in you coming to this bar? You probably put up with some bullshit to earn the $ 40-$ 80 you’re gonna spend here. I can’t handle this kind of responsibility. But I’m here to Unilocal you. The bartenders. You know that kid in high school no one could quite figure out? They were kind of cool but deep down, maybe not even deep down, you KNEW you despised them. Their dogs more than likely licked peanut butter off their nuts while they vaped and quoted family guy, but you never saw it so you didn’t know. That guy makes your drinks. He gets shithoused behind the bar and all of a sudden you go way back. The bartender/busser chach is more likely to get kicked out by the bouncer than you. And the lady bartenders? Sorry, pussy pass denied. I asked for a Budweiser 10 minutes ago. Sure you have a pair of knockers that would wear down Floyd Mayweather in 2 minutes, but that doesn’t give you an excuse to be a total byotch. That’s just the front of the bar. I’ve only covered the first 20 feet. The next 20? Who the hell knows. Dinky beer pong table surrounded by 30 something’s that never had a chance to be cool in college? Girls who«are so bad at this game»? Maybe 4 guys who have the same rules until one team loses then it’s «beef»? Who cares. I’d rather teabag a bear trap. What if there’s a DJ you ask? Go for the beer pong. Sure you can get slobber knockered there for cheap on certain days of the week. Sure it’s open later than the other Waldo bars. But would I recommend you go there? Watch Willy Wanka and the Chocolate Factory on acid then tell me if I should do the same. You won’t know either. Flip a coin to decide, then second guess your decision. It’s yours and not mine. Denise, I’m different now. Call me. I swear this time it’s different. Call. Me.

Overall, a terrible place to go. Bad food, rude service, and overpriced menu items. If you are in the area, there are literally dozens of places to choose from. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Just really bad. The food is a complete afterthought. You can’t even order anything warm. The sandwiches are extremely disappointing and still overpriced. The atmosphere is as bland as possible and the drink specials are average at best. Just go somewhere else. Waldo has much better options.

Update from last review. Services has been outstanding lately and food is top notch. They are always running great drink specials and the atmosphere is great.

It really should not take 45 minutes to make a sandwich and soup. My boyfriend and I came here one Friday evening, early, for dinner. Not only was our wait ridiculous for the food we ordered, but from our table we could see the kitchen staff repeatedly go out for smoke breaks. There were not very many other people there, and only a few were eating. This bar is ok for drinks, but if you’re looking for a meal, I’d go elsewhere.

First off… I’m going to something I promised myself I wouldn’t do… write a drunken review. No, not that I’m drunk while writing the review, but that I was intoxicated while visiting said establishment. Here goes… I stopped by Quintons after a extremely enjoyable and entertaining going-away party(Hopfest 2014). We had a fairly large group of people and were able to get a booth to accommodate us. I recall ordering the clubhouse special… Positives: –Good food. Not gourmet obviously, but if you need something a notch above the standard greasy spoon during a night out, this is a good place to grab a sandwich. Negatives: –Slooooooooow service. It was early Saturday evening and it wasn’t that busy, and it took a long time to get our food. Thank you KC for all the fun food memories… I shall never forget them and can’t wait to get back to visit… and stuff my face with BBQ and everything else that makes KC a great city for food.

I came to Quintons on a Saturday night. And honestly? I had a LOT of fun and really hate to see all of the negative reviews. For starters the DJ was killin’ it the entire time. The bartenders were friendly and kept up with service. It didn’t get busier until about midnight but that didn’t bother me very much. I didn’t try any of their food but I’m definitely going to make another trip out here to judge it for myself. Overall I’d say 3.5 stars like the previous review says. Kind of a bummer there’s only one ladies bathroom!

Good for drinks that’s about it. Staff yesterday was so so. Always had to go to the bar to get our drinks. Good place to watch sports. Parking can be tricky.

The owner opened the bathroom door on 3 girls right in front of me who had JUST walked in to use it. They were exposed to the rest of the bar when he tried to kick them out. The management team said he was just«drunk.» A business OWNER should never be drunk in his own bar and invading privacy. If his excuse was that they were in there for too long, I can guarantee you they were in there for maybe 30 seconds and had promised me that only 1 was actually using the bathroom. Owner of Quinton’s is very disrespectful and should be reported. When we went to ask him about the situation he pushed me out of the way in a rough manner.

So I was stuck on a conference call, and left the house way too late to expect a table anywhere great in Kansas City. Sporting KC is playing for the MLS Cup at the same time MIZZOU fights for the SEC Championship. We entered six bars before finding tables at Quinton’s. I soon realized why. Yesterday’s bag of unsealed generic tortilla chips accompanied my friend’s «spinach dip» which was melted cream cheese with green specks. The bread bowl soup-sandwich combo I ordered seemed like a good deal. The bread was even less fresh than the chips, the meat on the Smoke stack sandwich was like rawhide. But less tender and flavorful. Why, when two championship games are playing, the owner opts to play a regular KU game on several of their very few TVs is odd to me. During the games, the owner picks a fight with a fan who is whistling. Everyone is cheering, screaming, clapping, telling… Why make things uncomfortable by starting a fight? As soon as Sporting wins(yippeee!), he turns all the TVs to the MU game. Isn’t the presentation of the Cup/Trophy equally as appealing to Kansas City? A customer asks him to turn a TV or two back, he refers to get as «babes» and dismisses her. The only bright spot of my experience is clearly this owner’s terrible, self-important attitude is not shared by his staff. GREAT service was given by three female servers on duty. They were above and beyond wonderful and cheery!

It’s not hard to improve on the old Waldo Bar, but Quinton’s somehow manages to miss that mark. I went at 11:30 on a Friday night and it was pretty empty. It’s a darkly lit bar, but there is a lot of seating. They had a DJ, and it was so loud I couldn’t hear the bartender. I ordered a whiskey and coke, and it was a generous pour. The service was good, and the prices were just fine. I just wasn’t a big fan of the atmosphere. I’ll definitely go there again, but probably before the DJ starts playing, and it wouldn’t be my first choice for an evening out in Waldo.

Sandwiches were not nearly as good as the Lawrence location. The meet was dried out and tough. Something has gone downhill with this place as I remember it from a couple years ago and it was great. It’s a shame, I probably won’t return.

It’s not that I’ll never come back, but I definitely have to review Quinton’s after the terrible service we received Sunday. Our group was 6 adults and 3 children. We were one of two tables in the entire restaurant. Granted, it was a fairly early lunch I suppose(11:45), I would imagine an establishment wouldn’t open unless they were… oh I don’t know… ready to serve food. The server took our drink orders in a timely enough manner and the drinks as well as chips and salsa were out in no time. That’s when everything went down hill. The children ordered off the kids menu – the adults mainly did soup/sandwich combos. So essentially, the kitchen was tasked with making 3PB and Js, 5 half-sandwiches, a full sandwich, and filling 5 bread bowls up with soup. 40 minutes later, the kids’ lunches arrive. 15 minutes after the kids lunches arrive, 4 adults got their meal. 5 minutes after that batch, the last two adults received their meal. Certainly I can understand new staffing, under staffing, any problem under the sun. However, our server didn’t so much as keep us posted let alone apologize for the lengthy wait. The place also smelled of bleach – which I guess suggests cleanliness… but it wasn’t very pleasant. With that being said, we all enjoyed the food – it’s just the experience was made worse by our terrible service. We’ll probably stick with Gert’s since we’re in OP or at least the Original Quinton’s but I’m sure we’ll be back to this location. Hopefully with better service.

Quinton’s isn’t a bad place to catch a drink or watch a game. I would give it 3.5 stars. It definitely lacks the atmosphere of the Lawrence Quinton’s but service here is a bit better. The place isn’t that big and is a bit dive-esque. I like the large booths… they do add a bit of privacy. Foodwise, at this location, I have only tried the nachos. They are a giant mess, and I’m not really sure what’s on them, but they are oh so good when you’ve been drinking. The bartenders do not go skimpy on the drinks. Every«mixed» drink that I’ve had here has been strong. There are also some really good specials. The beer selection is decent as well. Service is good, but I’ve found that it gets slower as the night goes on.

One of my besties and I dropped in here for lunch last Saturday. I had an expired Groupon and I was in the mood to try this place out even though I had a date for a pedie up north. So, here’s this place at almost 75th and Wornall. Never noticed it before and my ex and I used to frequent the area quite a bit. Parked on a side street. I would imagine parking would be difficult on a busy night but this was about 1:30 pm on Saturday afternoon. So, there was some, I repeat some street parking. The bartender was an attractive, friendly woman. I ordered a BLT and my bestie had a Ruben. It seemed rather long of a wait but, it’s a bar and they want you to drink, even though both of us were drinking non-alcoholic drinks. The ambience is typical of a bar. Dark, TVs, light music. This period of time seemed to cater to an older crowd which was ok with us. We were just meeting for lunch and wanted to do something different. Finally, the sandwiches came. Nothing to write home about and a little pricey. Probably won’t be back again any time soon. Nothing really wrong with the place, just not my bag.

The food was ok. About what you expect from a dive bar although it doesn’t look like a dive bar. At first glance, it looks like a pretty nice place: marble table tops, big booths, fresh paint, etc. Then you sit down in the booths and you realize there’s like 3 inches between the chair back and the front of your seat, which makes it pretty hard to sit down. It’s uncomfortable and interesting odd experience. All-in all it ain’t that bad.

I got a deal here from Sweet Jack and was SO excited since this was one of my favorite places to go in Lawrence. We went in for lunch and were the only people in the entire place. We ordered bloody marys which were fabulous! Then we got the half sandwich and half soup combo. I had the TAC and potato soup in a bread bowl. The soup was just how I remembered it… amazing. The sandwich would’ve been better if the bread wasn’t burnt, but was still pretty good. Granted, I wish it would’ve had the cream cheese and avacado spread out instead of big clumps, but good still nontheless.

I was so excited when I heard Quinton’s was coming to Waldo. I really wanted to love it as much as I did as a young college student in Lawrence. But I really just can’t. We’ve stopped by a couple of times to give it a chance, but every time I just leave disappointed. The spin dip used to be my favorite in college, the Waldo version taste like it was either premade or previously frozen and has the flavor of plain cream cheese. Can’t say much more for the queso either – last time I had a bite of some friends, it tasted like someone had dropped an entire shaker of salt on it. While the sandwiches are not terribly bad, I have a really hard time paying almost $ 10 when you get a small amount of meat and chips served as a side. If I want to spend $ 20+ on lunch or dinner, I’ll head to another place where I’m not eating off a plastic tray. Happy hour drink prices are not too bad – in the future, that would probably be the only reason why I would come back.

I LOVE this bar on a Saturday night! It’s a dive bar so yes, it’s going to be grungy. Get over it. If you want yuppity, take your ass to P&L! The music is ONPOINT. There’s a DJ here on Saturday nights and his music can get anyone off their asses to go shake it. Quinton’s is an excellent place to people watch, the bartenders are super nice, the door guy with a cowboy is ADORABLE and, again, the music is ONPOINT. However, one caveat is that there is only one ladies bathroom… which is a pain in the ass. The line is always 4 – 5 girls deep, so if you can sneak in to the guy’s bathroom and squat, do that. Yes, I said that. Drinks are cheap, the vibe is great and the people are nice. What more do you need?!
