Providence Medical Center

Would not take my dog here … i love my dog to much … they kill ya there… would have to be actually dead to be taken there… the wait is so long to be seen and then you get 2 seconds of talking..

that is a killer hospital and their ER doctors are not qualified nor are the ones who come to see you after you are hospitalized. They did not diagnose me right. KU did providence could have cost me my life. NEVER EVER again will I go to this hospital for an emergency. I will call an ambulance and request to be taken to KU even though providence is ten minutes from me and I will definitely not take my child there for any kind of treatment. I now know why providence has such a bad name here in Kansas. I got to find out first hand and it will never happen again. I don’t know how this hospital isn’t put out of business from law suits!!!

After being bitten by a spider I was ordered by my doctor to this hospital where I spent two days and two nights. All I can say is that from the time I entered the building until the time I left, I was treated with respect, professionalism and sensitivity. I can’t thank the hospital enough for that. I went to the hospital in the evening and the receptionist was polite and quickly moved me to the next area where a woman took my information. I didn’t have my insurance card with me and the woman was kind and polite. She had the information that the doctor had sent for emergency referral and she told me that I would have to be sure and have the information ready in the morning. But, they admitted me within the first ½ hour and in no time, I was in a private room and had a nurse taking my vitals. Various staff-​members came in at the appointed times doing various checks and performing other duties. I was visited by several doctors as they tried to determine the exact issue and in the morning I went and had an MRI. The staff there were very friendly and professional too. The food was above average. I was impressed with the quality of the meals I was served. I also received the appropriate amount of care and attention by friendly people who took their jobs seriously. I’m completely satisfied with the way I was treated at this hospital.

Place is nice. People were friendly. They need more help in their waiting rooms, I didn’t like that ours was unmanned for calls from the surgeons. The families waiting had to take the calls. All in all I was very pleased.

A friend of mine has had two extended stays at Providence. She likes her doctor and raves about the staff. When I went to visit an orderly immediately rolled an extra chair into the room when he saw she had visitors, the nurse took time to chat and explain things, and when I was leaving and took the wrong elevator, a staff member who was getting off work voluntarily went out of her way to take me to the lobby. Aside from the giant crucifixes everywhere I can’t say enough good things about this hospital.

Time to see my eye doctor again… or should I say the medical assistant, who really does all the work.
Watch out for all the limps and gimps about to run you over in the parking lot and don’t touch anything with your bare hands!
Follow the two rules above and you will not end up in god’s waiting room.
