I went here yesterday and I think it is no longer in business — at least at this location. It was torn apart.

I drove down to Kansas City(from MPLS) this weekend just to eat some world class BBQ. We some how landed here after driving around Kansas City aimlessy. We had the spring rolls for an appetizer. Nothing special about these. Actually, kind of disappointing because they were small. The sauce was also a bit runny with no peanuts?!? I ordered the phở dac biet and my girl ordered the seafood phở. Nothing special about these two bowls either. Broth was sweet, but too much MSG! Wow all that MSG made this broth intense. Meats was plentiful and fresh. Sides such as bean sprouts, lime wedges, etc. were also fresh and plentiful. The noodles were kind of soft and falling apart. Service was prompt and acceptable. My girl had a pounding headache after taking in all that MSG. If this is the best phở in KC I feel sorry for you guys. :-( Oh by the way, the best BBQ I had this weekend was at LC’s.

OMG. best.food.ever. This is my favorite Vietnamese place in kc. Plus the owner is very nice and always remembers me. I love the fried shrimp rolls. They are amazing. I usually get the phở, but I have branched out to try pretty much everything on the menu. I usually end up with some Vietnamese coffee to finish the meal. I’ll keep going back! Just make sure to look at the hours, I’ve been up here like 3 – 4 times and forgot that it was closed lololol.

I’ve been going to this place since I was a sophomore in high school(I’ll turn 26 this August) and it’s been great to me ever since. The area isn’t the best(at the intersection of Independence Ave and Prospect the cross streets alone are enough to scare away many of my northland friends who refuse to go to «the hood») but don’t let that detract you. In all the time I’ve been coming here I’ve never ran into any issue(and over these years I’ve driven some desirable and easy to break into cars). But what’s important here? The food. And the food is really, really good. Granted…in my 10 years or so of coming here I’ve gotten the same thing almost every time but it’s really good. Anyways…very good food for what I feel is a reasonable price.

A few friends recommended this place as an alternative to Vietnam Café in Columbus Park. I was told it had the best Phở in town. So I tried it and it was good… but not any better than Vietnam Café. I also had the summer rolls and the fish sauce that came with it was very plain and bland. It’s a typical Asian mom and pop thing, no fancy décor or ambiance, just good eats. I would definitely go back but it would not be my first choice. *FYI — Maybe splitting a check there isn’t the greatest idea… they don’t speak much English there.

I had only tried phở once before this place. After the first place I tried it, I had pretty much swore the stuff off as bland and unimpressive. I don’t like to admit it often, but I was wrong about phở, just hadn’t tried the right place. Bowl the size of your head + meat of your choice + veggies + herbs of your choice + broth thats rich like Bill Gates = A damn good Phở! One recommendation; don’t go on a hot day. I went and had a big hot bowl of soup on a day with a 105 heat index, dumb. I bet the phở is worth 6 stars on a cold day.

This place was so so. The broth was really good but the meat was overcooked. the sweet potato fritters were good though. Overall, I like Vietnam Café better, especially since they charge about the same!

If you’ve been to San Jose and Garden Grove, you probably have tasted some great phở. I’ve been in search of great phở joints for sometime and know that if I have to clean my chopsticks, spoons, and wipe down the table with a napkin, I’m at the right place. This place was a little too clean and I was doubtful about their food. We ordered spring rolls, fried egg rolls, and phở– one with rare beef and two with all the meat. Spring rolls were soft and delicious, egg rolls were even better and the broth was also good. Basically, they’ve surpassed my expectations and won me over. The owner was kind, provided great service and even guessed correctly that we were Korean. As we paid and left he said«Koreans are our brothers!» I think he said something like since Vietnam and Korea are close together that we are all the same or something… Anyways that made me laugh. If you are in KC and craving phở, I highly recommend this place. It will definitely suprise you(in a good way).

This is the best phở restaurant in kansas city. When i walked into this place i knew the phở was going to be incredible. The broth was amazing. The service was okay. The most important thing for me is the food ;-)
