Very good food for museum restaurant. Excellent Reuben sandwich. A little pricey but not unusual for museum food.

Most museums you go to have average cafes. BUT the WW1 museum’s café is better then average: it’s awesome. I got a chicken salad and to tell you the truth, I wasn’t expecting much. I mean salads are like the easiest thing to make other then a frozen meal. I was kind-of shocked though. The lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes was average, but what they did to the chicken was tasty. The chicken was in a sauce that almost reminded me of potato salad. Add some honey-mustard dressing and it was perfect. It also was a perfect portion size. The lady working there was also very friendly. I would give 4 out of five stars manly because it was better then your average café.

A great dining choice for folks(like me) who head in thinking this is a quick in and out museum trip. We were having so much fun at the museum, we didn’t want to leave and get lunch but we were too hungry to wait. The menu was your basic sandwiches, salads and pizza. Prices were reasonable — we had two meals with soda for under $ 20. I ordered the«grilled cheese» thinking that’s exactly what it would be — bread and cheese. But I didn’t see the details which stated grilled cheese filled with chef’s choice. Fortunately I’m not a vegetarian and equally fortunately it was pulled pork which I love — so it was a tasty pulled pork, grilled cheese sandwich. My cousin had a greek chicken wrap which he also gave thumbs up.

This café is conveniently tucked away in the corner of the museum. The prices of the meals are reasonable and not as pricey as museum food can oftentimes get(less than $ 10 per plate). I ordered the Western Front Gourmet Grilled Cheese sandwich. Since I love Gouda, I loved the sandwich. My meal came with tomato bisque– super! My dad got the southwest pizza and he seemed to be content with the meal. Definitely not gourmet, but not too shabby either. The museum itself is a 5 star, must see attraction!
