Took my Dad here for his Birthday/Fathers’s Day. The food was just as good as I remembered. The bloomin’ onion was still good. The bread — oh the bread — oh so yummy and fresh. I ordered the steak salad. It was plentiful — didn’t even eat all of it. Dad and hubby both had steaks. While they were not very thick steaks, the flavors were great.

I have had some of the best prime rib and steaks you could possibly ask for. I also paid dearly for them. If you expect 5 star service and food then please go somewhere else. Especially if you are some teen age want to be foodie. If you are just tired at the end of the day and want a decent to above meal then this place is fine! Due to a disability I don’t eat out very much at all. Maybe twice a year but we do order out from here occassionally as well. I do have a problem with the prime rib lately though. It use to be more marbled. It is tougher and too chewy now and I I order mine rare. A ribeye or prime rib should have marbling. If not then you may as well order a much cheaper NY strip. But as stated above we are not in a 5 star restaurant. There are places in town that are supposed to be nice but are not and you pay twice as much for. Hereford House anyone? Ugh. As far As a casual meal this place is great. Work on that prime rib quality a bit though. And never forget cheesecake! Love it!

This was my first visit to Outback, and since I don’t eat steak, I don’t generally frequent steakhouses, only when I’m with others who enjoy steak. So, I didn’t get steak, but instead got the Baby Back Ribs. While they weren’t the best I’ve ever had, they were still pretty good for what they were. The BBQ sauce they brush on the ribs vaguely reminds me of another BBQ place in town. Moving on, we ordered a Bloomin’ Onion(I had to because I’ve never been here!) for our party of 4 to share. Even between the four of us, we could barely finish it. You’ve been warned! I had expected the onion to be on the sweeter side(yellow onion), but it disappointed in that aspect. It would have made it infinitely better had they gone the yellow onion route, instead of the white onion. We also got the Seared Peppered Ahi. It was actually really good. Like surprisingly good. One of the guys in our party was trying raw fish for the first time, and this was a good first dish for him to try. I could have eaten it as my meal. Because Outback is a chain restaurant, I never expect the steak to be as good as they claim. My boyfriend got steak and only confirms this. He found the steak to be a bit tough, but he’s also been to Japan, where he’s had Kobe steak — so it may be an unfair analysis in terms of what you get at Outback. The service was very good and timely, despite it being fairly busy. The manager did come by and check on us. The waitress was always making sure we were taken care of, in terms of taking away plates and refilling glasses. I never sat with an empty glass, which is a huge plus in my book, since I drink a lot of water. I seem to have this problem fairly often at other full-service restaurants. I was pretty full at the end of the meal, which means their portion sizes are pretty good, since I eat quite a bit. It’s unlikely I will come back, since I don’t particularly have any reason to. Overall: 3⁄5 Food: 3⁄5 Service: 5⁄5 Atmosphere: 3⁄5

Among the chain steakhouses, I find Outback to be near the bottom in terms of quality. I do appreciate the many options in cuts to choose from, and the prices are competitive, but my sirloin was rather tough. I hadn’t been to an Outback in probably around ten years, and back then I wasn’t a steak guyer. But I don’t remember being particularly impressed then, and it was the same now. Even the signature Bloomin’ Onion wasn’t as exciting as I recalled. And I’m not the type that expects the staff to magically prepare the steak precisely as I am thinking it should be, but my medium request resulted in something closer to medium-well. Apparently, Outback uses conduction to prepare its steaks, which involves the outer part of the steak being cooked much quicker than the center. I’m not enough of a steak enthusiast to comment intelligently on this, but I still feel how I do about the toughness. The reason I went to a 3-star rating here is because, unlike what other reviews seem to indicate, our service was fantastic. There were four of us on this last visit; two of us ordered more than one drink at different parts of the meal, we kept annoyingly asking for bread(actually, they kept offering it to us), three of us had salads, we ordered two appetizers at different times, and then we had our entrees. The staff never missed a beat, from the food runner bringing an extra plate to the manager stopping by and having an actual conversation with us asking how our meals were and introducing herself by name. Maybe they’ve heard the previous outcries of bad service and have made it a point to rectify it. I think Outback makes an attempt to be different by offering different toppings on the steaks – such as certain peppers and such – for an upcharge. I didn’t partake because it didn’t seem that interesting. The side dishes are humdrum, too. My girlfriend thought the ribs were good, considering ribs aren’t Outback’s specialty. Because of the service, I really wish I could go higher. But again, as far as chains go, it’s below average. If, however, you know you’re a fan Outback, give this location a shot and see what you think. Service: 4.5÷5 Steak: 2⁄5 Apparent Australian inspiration: 0⁄5

Typical Outback, but slightly better service at this location. Good but not quite great steaks for a large chain. The drinks are even and consistent. The sides are somewhat bland — probably prepackaged.

Terrible place to go and eat. Some waiters try to take care of 4 or more people at same time, so many dirty dishes on the table and waiter not even trying to take them away, and also waiter not even replacing your drink, you have to ask different waiters to get some drink. It’s terrible place to go with family

Attention to detail is a lost art at this location. Server, Sydney, messed our simple order of a wedge salad and a side salad with dressing on the side. We were brought a side salad with ranch instead of the wedge the other side salad was drowning in dressing and also had dressing on side. When we questioned, we were told, ‘no that is what I heard’, we asked for the manager and no one ever came to talk to us.

Went to Outback tonight for an impromptu date night with the hubby. The food was good but the service was terrible(slow & incorrect several times) Soup & salad came out before the appetizer. My soup was wrong — so by the time it was corrected I had exactly 2 sips of it when our entrée’s arrived. Had to ask 4 times(1 of which was the manager — who didn’t do it) to refill my tea. Ordered dessert — asked for the chocolate sauce on the side. Of course it was poured all over the top — which would have been«okay» if our server hadn’t made the comment«on the side seems to be hard to understand — I had to have it redone 3 times — then I just did it myself» What??? As I looked around the room everyone else’s meals seems to go as planned and received prompt refills. Hopefully they will write a review of their experience!!!

After reading some of these reviews, I felt compelled to leave some positive feedback. My wife and I recently ate at this location for the second in a few months. Both times were great. The service was great, food was great, nothing to complain about. I had the Outback Sirloin while she had the Sirloin Shrimp combo. Both were tasty. The shrimp here is better than Red Lobster, that’s for sure. On both visits, the manager stopped by to see if everything was to our likely, which I find to be a nice touch. We’ll definitely be back.

The food is good, which is why the 2 stars. Customer service standards need improvement. I went online to put in an order for pick-up. The rack of Lamb that my Nonnie(Grandmother) likes was not an option online. I called the location to see if I was missing it. Phone rings for longer than desired before someone picks up. Someone answered the phone, heard my question and put me on hold. The gentleman«Josh» who ended up helping me was very kind. He took the entire order over the phone. At the end he said«the only thing is, we can’t take credit cards over the phone». I told him I would’t allow my Nonnie to pay for the meal and I need to pay.(I live out of state and wanted this to be a simple time efficient process) He said I could if I submitted the order online. I requested he guide me through the process online. He explained if I switch pick up time to 3 p.m. the dinner menu would appear and allow me to order the Lamb Chops. He said his manager could make the call to take payment over the phone. I found it as he was putting the manager«Amy» on the line. She said they couldn’t take payment over the phone for fraud/chargeback reasons. After switching the time to the the dinner selection as recommended by Josh, the option was available online and I proceeded to place my order. It was 2:45 p.m. and the online order wouldn’t allow me to complete until I removed the Lamb. At this point my Nonnie was at the restaurant to pick up our order. The pick up door is locked which frustrated her. After Nonnie went inside(in the rain) to pick up the order, they explained the order wasn’t placed. She called my Mother to speak with management. I got on the phone to explain the order situation to Amy. She said the Lamb wasn’t in the order… I explained the situation again. She said«it’s policy that we can’t take payment over the phone». Usually managers are required to have«common sense»,“problem solving skills“and the ability to make decisions that are best for the company. Losing this $ 100 order isn’t much but it adds up over time. I cancelled the order after the waste of 45min. Not management I would want for my business.

We used to eat at Outback at least once a week. It’s been over 6 years since we visited any of them. Not that we didn’t like the food, but the atmosphere was more«party-party» than enjoy a nice dinner. Since it was a Tuesday we thought we’d give it a try. Walked in the door to music blasting away overhead. Hmmmm… We were hungry so we hoped to be seated in the relatively quiet section. It was early evening so the crowd hadn’t showed up. We were seated and about 7 minutes later a very friendly guy came over to take our order. It was hard to hear over the din, so we asked if the music could be turned down a bit. He said he would try. We know the«rules» about music. Managers want the music loud to generate a sense of energy and excitement — woo hoo. We never noticed any change in the volume, but we did try. Food was fine. I had the chicken sandwich, baked potato with sour cream, and for«dessert» I ordered a side salad. Everything was great. My friend had a burger with fries, and a beer. One little problem with the burger extras, but our server took care of it quickly, and the manager came by to make sure all was well. We would love to put this place back into our dining rotation, except for the loud music. Too bad restaurants don’t have a «no music» section where the speakers are turned off. It would make conversation so much more pleasant.

First time to this Outback. Randy was our server and was great! Food came out quickly, was hot, and well-seasoned. I had the Victoria Filet –classic style-and it was perfect! Will be back.

In the over dozen years we’ve lived in the Northland(where chains can rule every corner and intersection of Barry Road), we’ve visited this location 3 times. Not that we heard anything bad, we just didn’t find it appealing. That being said, on each of the last three times, our food has been surprisingly okay! Unfortunately, our service was lacking. I’m not even a demanding person. But when the joint is less than 20% full for an off lunch time during the week, it should not take 40 minutes to get food. It’s okay. That’s about it. Not bad, not great. Good. PS Stay away from that famous blooming onion! It’s swimming in oil and isn’t a pleasant choice. But hey, if you enjoy lots of hot fried greasiness, have at it!

When will I learn? Outback in Kansas City is no different than the Outback in my home town of Fort Myers– and I hate that place. In all fairness– service was great and management did the right thing by writing off my meal because the food was so horrendous! I had the teriyaki kabobs and ordered the meat«medium». I recommend that the chef refer to the menu where there is an actual picture of a medium cooked piece of meat. The onions were raw– never even touched a flame– just had teriyaki sauce poured on them– the same for the peppers– jut cut and dipped in sauce and placed on a plate. The meat may have been kissed by a flame– but was blood red in center and cold. My meal was raw– not rare. I do not think four ounces of raw meat cut into four chunks and 1⁄5 of a raw green pepper and 1⁄5 of a raw red onion is worth $ 14.00 even if it comes with a cup of soup and a loaf of bread. I did not complain to management — I just showed my waitress what the meat looked like after I cut into it– she was aghast and got the kitchen manager. She came out and offered to have the meat cooked. I know what happens to food when you send it back to the kitchen and an incompetent cook gets offended. I said I would take it home and cook it myself. The kitchen manager then got the restaurant manager who also was stunned at the site of the meat. She offered me another steak– no way! When you put a dollar in a vending machine and nothing comes out– are you going to put another one in? If you can’t get it right the first time– I do not give a second chance when it comes to my food. So the manager said I owe nothing– even though I had a bowl of soup and a loaf of bread– kudos to management– thumbs down to cook! I could almost understand if the place was busy– but I got there at 4:30 — the place was empty– shame on you especially when there are so many much better choices in the same area.

Over the last 2 years, we’ve been here every 4 – 5 months. Tonight was our last and final time. The service has gone downhill with every visit. We ordered a boomin’ onion and asked for extra sauce. Thanks for forgetting it. I was excited about mac & cheese being offered as a new side option. I was asked if I wanted the kid’s mac & cheese? What am I pointing at and showing you? The steakhouse mac & cheese, dude. We ordered a bone-in Ribeye cooked medium rare. The middle was almost raw. I ordered a bone-out Ribeye cooked medium rare. There was hardly any pink. The flavor was pretty good, though. Let’s go back to the sad mac & cheese. It was accentuated in flavor by the long hair that I pulled out. I know it wasn’t mine because as I pulled it out it started lifting a piece of macaroni which it ended up being wrapped around. How is lobster tail almost raw at the end and overdone at the top? After we finished our dinner I went to wash my hands. When coming out of the bathroom and around the corner, a server with drinks and bread completely ran into me, but somehow he kept the drinks from crashing off the tray. My underarm between armpit and elbow made full skin contact with the yummy bread that ended up actually being served to a table. I came back to our table to find our cards weren’t picked up for payment yet. We wait, and waited and stared at dirty dishes while we continued to wait. There was as a very nice young man assisting in hosting that we were able to flag down and found our server. This kid was the highlight of our dinner… no seriously. Sweet kid. Our server came to grab our cards and said he was just waiting to see if we wanted dessert. Huh? No. Definitely not. I can’t imagine how long that’d take, plus we’d rather not stare at our dishes for another 20 min. Here are our cards. You’re not taking any dishes away again?! Where did you run off to this time? I’m usually the one to call done-never-again and my fiancé is more forgiving. Tonight he called it. Done-never-again.

We ordered the Baked Potato Soup, Aussie Cheese Fries, Aussie Fish Tacos, Crab Topped Tilapia with a side of Chicken Tortilla Soup, and Salmon with Baked Potato. The potato soup was pretty good, but the Aussie fries not as much.(The cheese was very solid.) The ranch was unique though and I would recommend that. Fish Tacos, Tilapia, and the sweet potato side were all decent. It wasn’t too bad but I probably won’t come back.

I am an unabashed lover of steak. Steak would be my last meal if I had a choice. I am always hungry for steak. My wife and I visited this location on a busy Friday. We got in just ahead of the rush. We only had to wait maybe 5 – 7 minutes before we were seated. We put our order in, ordering Cheese Fries to start, salad for the wife, and potato soup for me. First to arrive was the fries, even before the bread. Very quickly to follow were the salad and soup, then the bread. Suddenly we had a bunch of food on our table and not enough time to eat it all. The fries were tasty and we ate them all. The soup was overpowered by the green onion that was added. I didn’t care for it. My wife said the salad tasted like someone sprinkled in red pepper flake. She also didn’t care for it. We never got to the bread. For entrees, I got the 11 oz Outback special and my wife got the prime rib. Both of our entrees were excellent. The sirloin was lean and tasty. The prime rib was perfectly cooked and tender. It was a busy night and it took a bit for the waitress to come by and refill my drink. She also tried to talk to me when I had a mouth full of food and I nearly choked. If only I had that drink… Despite a few flaws, it was still good food and a good night. We will return.
