Nicky’s Pizza

I think this is probably top three pizza place in Kansas City it’s really really good pizza place

Great pizza the salmon salad is fantastic
I have not had a bad pizza there ever
Wait staff is friendly

The food was good and homemade my husband loved their sauce. We had the calzones. Our server was a bit iffy

It’s my neighborhood pizza place so I needed to give it a try. Nicky’s has an obvious fanbase, there were several regulars who were there or who stopped for carry out while I was there. I visited during the week and the front half of the restaurant was full and the «other» half had tables full as well.
Beer and whiskey selections are typical for neighborhood restaurant and bar — Bud and Bud Light are probably their big sellers. The obligatory Jack Daniels whiskey was available but they had Knob too. Otherwise the spirits available were limited.
The pizza was good, I hope they keep pushing to improve their menu and drink selections. I’d like to try them again in the future.

Good pizza and atmosphere even for the kids, it was small. We went at 5 on Friday night and were fortunate not to wait too long.
I would return again!

We ordered pizza for pick up there last night. I get to the restaurant to pick it up and it’s crazy. I ask a girl who is at the front where to pick up my pizza. She points to a small crowded corner next to the bar. It’s seems there could be a line so I ask and then she proceeds to just go grab my pizza and bring it out. Then it’s a waiting game at the bar. I happen to ask a waitress for help and she points me to the same crowded corner very rudely I may say. Like I was inconveniencing her by asking. After hitting a guy with my pizza box at the bar, due to waiting and trying to stay out of the way, I finally get a bartender to ring me up. She proceeds to thank me for being honest and not just leaving. $ 50 worth of pizza later, I get to leave.
Now let’s talk about the pizza. Not worth $ 50 for a XL, L, & small. It was decent pizza. I have had better from Pizza Hut. Totally not worth the most money I paid and I will not be returning.
The lack luster pizza and the customer service just make a person not interested in visiting this restaurant again.

Eh… Food was definitely just mediocre tasting. I ordered a little bit of everything since that’s how I like to eat. The spinach dip was very bland. The naan bread made it edible. However, the meatball sub was good, on the sweeter side and not so greasy or heavy. My friend ordered half buffalo chicken/​half BBQ chicken small pizza… Let’s just say there was a lot left over. Service was friendly but slow. Most likely that I will not be returning to this local pizza joint

My son and I went in last night for pizza. We’d been wanting to go for a while because several people told us it was great and we finally made it. We had a lg cheese with ½ hamburger pizza and it was so good. I kind of wish I would have let him talk me into getting all cheese because it was the best! The crust was buttery and crisp. I let him eat the pizza and I ate the crust. Our waitress, Lauren, was very friendly and helped us out when she found out we were first timers. We will definitely be back.

Had the bbq chicken pizza and cheese bread, both were amazing and didn’t take too long either! We had a nice, attentive waitress as well.

Great handmade pizzas. Best pizza I’ve had in the northland part of the metro since Rosatti’s closed. Only a couple of small things to gripe about really. The service was mediocre. Not horrible but not as attentive as I would have liked. The place was packed so I am sure that had something to do with it but I don’t see that as an excuse. It was a Friday night. They should have expected that and staffed themselves accordingly. And I would say it’s also a bit pricey. But if I’m gonna have pizza north of the river I’m definitely going to Nicky’s.

Great local pizza with delivery and carry out; we dined In this time. It is a bit pricier than chain pizza, but the quality is worth it, if that is important to you. Artichoke-​spin dip is fabulous. Veggie pizza is delicious as well. We were very happy with the service, as service today at sit downs seems to be less than it should be (as a former server myself)! Love it! We will be back when we want a treat.

Only dined here once and I would go back if I’m in Liberty and want to eat. I avoid all the places on 152, the food is bad and service is worse. They don’t care if you come back. This is just north off 291 and they do seem to care and probably have regular customers in the area they are in.
We both got wraps and my fried meatball wrap was delish. I am looking forward to going and trying new things because I saw a few plates as I was leaving. Pizza looked good and a couple of appetizers too.
Only thing, the TVs were a little too loud for my taste, its small and we ate in a smaller front room separated by a larger dining room and front entrance. Many sports can be watched without being listened to and we still can tell whats going on. Especially when there are a couple of families in there with screaming kids the TVs can just be too much. But food was great and they seemed to cater to our needs.

I must preface that I have never had a pizza here before but went in today for lunch and was just expecting to get an average lunch. I don’t know our waitress but she was super friendly and talked over the menu for us. She mentioned the meatball sub several times so that is what I got. I don’t usually get the meatball subs anywhere but when she brought out mine I knew it was a great decision. The meatballs are homemade, not some flavorless packaged stuff. They serve it with sugo? I had no idea what that is but it’s basically their marinara and it’s really good. Truthfully, I was blown away by the sandwich and the awesome service made my visit that much better. I talked about the sandwich the rest of the day and I am already looking forward to another meatball sandwich.
The meatballs on the sandwich are very tender and super flavorful. Both the sugo and meatballs with cheese are all perfectly balanced with flavor, not too spicy, not too sweet but just the right amount of everything to make your tastebuds really happy. I think the thing for me that really put it over the top was how fresh it was. I could really tell they make it fresh every time. The sandwich comes with a salad or chips. I opted for the salad and they have some really good garlic dressing that went well with the salad. Overall it was a great experience and I am sure I will be back!

I can’t believe how so many people have given this place a positive review. It seems to me that these reviews are completely bogus considering my personal experience.
I went there with my wife. We ordered Mediterranean pizza. Had to wait 25 min for it. There was nobody in there except us. The waitress was very neglectful and seemed to have an attitude. I tried calling her couple of times to inquire about the menu and the waiting time and she seemed to us to not show any attention, all this considering there was nobady in there except us.
When the pizza finally arrived, it looked like it was soaked in oil. It was the WORST pizza hands down we have ever had in our life. It was way greasy and overpoweringly salty. It was nothing like what a medditeran pizza tastes like. I would never recommend anyone eat there.

Second time eating at Nicky’s and the last. Meatball subs were great for both me and my wife. Pizza was downright lacking. Ours was completely undercooked with the entire underside still raw. A slice could not even hold its own weight and went limp immediately. I asked the server if they used a conveyer or a real pizza oven with a door. She instructed they use an open conveyor and then asked me why? I told her the pizza was undercooked and the dough was completely raw. She gave me a bitch look and walked away. We expected some sort of apology, comp or do-​over… But nothing.
After eating there twice, it is clear to me that the plethora of positive reviews are bogus. I will definitely recommend against eating at Nicky’s and am completely dumbfounded that people claim this place has the best pizza in kc. Sadly even the sub par places like papa johns or dominoes pizza are superior.

This may be my favorite spot in Liberty… scratch that, it is my favorite place. The food is awesome and the atmosphere is very local and very friendly. The owner is always around and will take good care of you. Do yourself a favor and try the salmon flatbread or fried meatball sandwich. All the pizzas are outstanding as well. If you’re looking for a local, non-​chain, low key place, this is it.

After «The Dish» closed in Liberty, we were sad not to have a family pizza place to frequent. After seeing «Nicky’s Pizza» pop up on several searches we decided to check them out.
Service: friendly welcome when we came in with a large party of 6 on a Saturday night. Nicky herself was our server!
Food: We had the All-​Meat pizza. It was so good, our out-​of-​town family ordered it the very next day for take-​out.
