Mosaic Ultra Lounge

Came to KC with my cousin for a girls weekend and we spent Saturday night at Mosiac. Got in with no line and no cover. Great DJ spinning really good music and cheap drinks. Pretty spacious and they have two outdoor patio areas, one covered with heaters and one uncovered that looks down at the street below. All the staff were friendly. I would definitely come back

If I could make a negative star rating – I would! But I had to select one star to even rate it — Bouncers are definitely out of line! We got kicked out last night because someone pushed my fiancé. We don’t even know who than guy was that pushed him and he poured his drink of my fiancé. We didn’t even do anything wrong! This is why we don’t go out to «clubs» anymore! This is the first time we went to Mosaic and the LAST!!!

Update: Down rating to a one. I recently «won» a «VIP» night. It’s pretty much a scam, they’ll sell your information and in turn you might have a chance to win a few free WELL drinks per hour from 9 to 11, but try to screw you out of your last hour of tickets or any way they can, so you won’t get your drink tickets. They’ll tell you your friends get the perk of getting half of drinks and free entry, but it’s already that price for everyone if you get there before 11pm.
They don’t give you a table or anything. The notification for winning is so vague too, I felt lied to and disappointed. Twas’ a disappointment and not worth the random spam phone calls I recieve almost every day.
This lounge is a hit or miss for me. I mostly come here when UF throws after parties or events here. I love the lighting, décor, and patio; but there’s something about this place that irks me… It might be the mean mugging stuck up bitches, or the douchebags, or the creepy old men that eye-f**k you and don’t even offer to buy you a drink (lol jk).
Another annoyance of this place is trying to get a drink, people just crowd around the bar to talk. Please leave room for others to get their drink and be able to leave the bar once they get them.

I love this place. The staff is extremely friendly and the atmosphere is amazing. By far the best club in KC and one of the best I’ve ever been to.

I really wanted to give them like 3.75 stars lol. So here’s the good and the bad… I’m pretty sure this place was «ultra» at one time but not so much anymore.
Good — excellent patio and lounge area outside. Lots of couches and seating area to get away from the crowd.
Bad — kind of a douchy crowd, I suppose my expectations were a little high for KC.
Good — management, we splurged on bottle service for the occasion and management was good about checking in on us to see if everything was ok.
Bad — bottle service area /​tables, these have seen better times and with the way they are set up (one table connects to another) you often have people just traipsing through your reserved space. Not exactly the fault of the establishment but just not conducive to the whole bottle service VIP experience. And although management checked on us we never saw one waitress after they delivered our bottles.
Good — music, Eric did a nice job with tunes and there was lots of dancing to be had.
Would I go back? Possibly. Would I pay for bottle service there? Nope.

Definitely the best club in Kansas City. I don’t even know if you could call anything else a club here. The in-​house DJ, Eric Coomes, is amazing. He never disappoints. Eric is also good about bringing in up and coming DJs that play in music festivals around the world, which is very unique for Kansas City.
The club has a great atmosphere and great staff. If you like EDM, this is the place to be in Kansas City.

Great atmosphere, great people and the DJ is amazing! Definitely one of the best clubs in PNL.

Mosaic Mosaic Mosaic, what else can I say about this Place except I have a Blast when I party here, Its always packed especially on holidays, and the DJ is Dope! Perfect for clubbing, dancing, etc. I had got a VIP table for memorial day with my friends. When we got there, we didn’t have to wait in line because we had VIP access. we were seated at a table by the bar and it was filled with Liquor, mixers, ice and energy drinks, and thats when the night began and we had one of the Best times of our lives. If your a Party animal I recommend Mosaic, ill never forget this Place

Great atmosphere if you like Top 40 music. Not super douchey. Plenty of seating outside, when the weather is nice enough. The only downside is all the smokers outside, if second hand smoke induced lung cancer bothers you. Four stars because they have a TEN dollar cover. Ridiculous!

I was recently here with the gf and a few of her friends on a Thursday (you read that right, a Thursday). The club wasn’t packed but none of them were. You could tell that Mosaic has earned its spot in P & L. They had a DJ that was killing it and the dance floor was busy all night. So much so that I wound up getting a bottle of Vodka to enjoy and, on the spot, they accommodated me with the utmost professionalism, giving me the choice of tables as well as the DJ giving my girlfriend, shoutouts all night for her birthday! Chris, the manager followed up with me multiple times to make sure that we enjoyed ourselves and the security/​staff was awesome, escorting us to the right elevators to get to our vehicle after the great night. I can only imagine how busy they get on the weekends, but you will be glad you got in, if you do :)

The other reviews are spot on, this place just isn’t great. It’s ‘that guy’ type of place and just not that fun. The bar area was packed, but outside of that it was dead. We were here for a little bit and went on to the next bar, enough said.

Oh, Mosaic, how you tease me.
You have the best music in KC, by my estimation. You also have a good set up inside, a sizeable outside area and a good variety of drinks. However, that is where the fun stops. I’ve never been in a bar that had such a high concentration of douchebag characters as Mosaic. The bartenders are douches, 90% of the people that frequent the club are douchenozzles and the doormen are by far the biggest dbags I’ve ever seen working an hourly position and acting like they’re Donald Trump, drunk with power.
My girlfriend has been groped and harassed more at Mosaic «Douchebag» Lounge than at any other bar in KC. In fact, one spikey haired buffoon grabbed her arm to spin her around so she would talk to him so hard that she had to punch him to get him off her (note to self: don’t leave your girlfriend with other girlfriends and head to the bathroom, better strategy is to just pee yourself… safer for all involved).
Do yourself a favor, avoid this bar. I haven’t even mentioned the 30 minute wait (unless you know one of the douches at the door), the weak drinks, the long bathroom lines, the slick dance floor or the fact that a fight WILL break out every night… after a fight breaks out, the bouncers are more likely to push you through a glass window to get «in on the action» than assert themselves in a controlled and reasonable way.
The only reason this place gets two stars is because their music is AWESOME. Drives me nuts. If you’re going to go, just get bottle service.

Every time I go to Mosaic, I am hopeful that I will like it. And every time I leave Mosaic, I ask myself, «Why did I decide to go here?!». There’s a $ 5 cover and you will pay even more for drinks. The staff are just as «douchey» as the club goers.
What I like about Mosaic is that they have a coat check and they do play good music if you are looking to dance. I just feel like there are much better places to go with less douchey people.

Unless you have bottle service this place would not be fun.
The club is pretty small and if you want some where to sit and chill or not be cramped I recommend just getting a bottle. They start at $ 250 and that get you 10 guest in for free.
The DJ’s are pretty good. Mix of house/​rap/​top 40’s.

If you live in KC:
You know this place is the mecca of douche. Guys wear shirts that have tattoo designs because they are too pussy to actually get the tattoos. Most guys over the age of 30 here have roommates because all their money goes to partying and coke. The girls have a chance to wear a tight form fitting dress and have guys try and compete for their attention buy offering bottle service or free drinks.
If you don’t live in KC:
You are just looking for a place to dance and have a good time with good people watching. No problem here. I’ve been to plenty of douchey type clubs outside of my area code. It makes for good stories.
So, if you like to have your picture taken, wear clothes that make you look ridiculous, love bottle service and a little bit of blow, it’s the place for you.

I was visiting from out of town, was looking for a place for me and my boyfriend and two others to hang, and this place caught my eye. so i got in line… Thats about as far as i got, as soon as we got to the front, which was after 35mins of waiting, they stop letting people in. they said a 15 wait period to clear off tables. what a bunch of bs, they were letting many people in where the VIP ropes are, and i will say one or two of the parties did buy bottles, but the rest of them were friends of the door people. it was a bunch of bs.
So we wait 20 minutes, then grab the guy and he tells us that he doesn’t know when they are letting people in. next time I’m in town WONT EVEN try to go to this place, and i would tell everyone the same.

So I went back to check out their «remodeled» space.” For god sake, what was all the fuss about? They didn’t add a dance floor. They just removed the couches that customers previously danced around.
The only other obvious addition was wallpaper galore. Same everything else, including the pissed off restroom attendant on her cell.

This place was not horrible but definitely my cup of tea. That said, I made the best of it when friends wanted to go. It was crowded but I can bit a bit self-​absorbed and wasn’t really paying attention to strangers.
We went early so no problem with the line although to have an extra cover at power and light seems silly. For that, I will probably not be back.
At one point I was dancing on a podium with my boyfriend and the bouncer told my boyfriend to get off. They only wanted girls up there! So then I stepped off. I don’t like rules — especially when you’re paying a bit for KC.
Also, what is up with all the bathroom attendants in power and light? It really didn’t seem like the bathrooms were cleaner than usual.

UGH. Like someone else said, if you are not VIP you will not get into this stupid place. The line for non-​VIP is probably about… oh…60 people long and believe me, it does not move. We went to Howl at the Moon, came back, and I’m pretty sure I saw the same people standing there as I did when I left. It is ridiculous.
Also, they make themselves out to be a dance club, but it is so packed you can’t dance. You just sort of stand there, awkwardly, waiting for the drunk girl next to you to stop flailing her arms so you can get out of there.
I have this theory that Mosaic is so packed every Fri. and Sat. night because it’s filled with people who haven’t been there yet. Once KC runs out of those people, I’m sure Mosaic’s appeal will wear off.

I have to update my feelings.
Take off the too-​big britches Mosaic. If you are so elite in letting people in, how come it’s so PACKED I can’t move every time I go?
Also, the past two times I’ve been in attendance, a fist-​fight has broken out. Not so classy. HOWEVER, once we watched this hammered girl try ADAMANTLY to make out with a fancy guy who was clearly hitting for the other team… That scene unfolding was enough to make braving the crowds worth it.
