Today I went to the Lufti’s on 31st and Main St. in Midtown. I went in search of fish, however, Shane talked me into the smoked wings with a side of Red Beans and Rice and Greens. Absolutely delicious!!! Decent service sizes. Great customer service too! Nice, friendly atmosphere. Next time I’m saving room for what appears to be some awesome desserts! Keep up the great work. A welcome change from the usual fast food options in this area.

Had a quick lunch today. Half pound of fish and two sides, I had the potato salad and fried okra. I really like their greens but they out today. Everything was right on the money. Crispy hot fish and okra. Will be back.

Taking a piece of white sandwich bread and slathering it with a healthy amount of Tatar sauce mixed with hot sauce, placing a filet of catfish on top, and folding it in half may just be one of the best things ever. Lufti’s makes this simple masterpiece true greatness. I was on the search for chicken and falling shockingly short in my area. I saw Lufti’s and decided chicken could wait. The menu had a meal with fish and wings, I was back in business. For just $ 11 you get 6 wings, 3 filets, and two sides. The mounds of food ended up being three meals for me. The catfish was nice and crispy and had a great taste. The cornbread breading was light allowing the fish to be the star with the perfect seasoning. You won’t go wrong eating it just like that, but Tatar and hot sauce on it, ahhhhmazing! Some of the best catfish I have had in the metro, maybe the best. The wings are equally amazing. These wings are not fried and covered in sauce. They are smoked with dry seasonings. Fantastic flavor and if you want heat add a little hot sauce to your bite. These are good quality wings and freaking yummy. The only side I have tried is the mac and cheese. It is nice and creamy. Exactly what you would expect from a place serving soul food. As if all of this isn’t enough to keep one coming back every day, they have desserts to end your meal with. Normally I skip dessert, but the bean pie intrigued me. I am sooo glad it did! It has a pumpkin or sweet potato pie consistency, a perfect crust, and an unexpected sweet flavor that will make you moan at the goodness of it. The dinner is $ 11 tax included. The pies are $ 4. $ 20 bill and you have dinner and dessert for two and a super happy belly! Service is fantastic. I have been in twice and they make me feel like a regular and like I have been coming in for years. Friendly, polite, hard working, the type of business that makes me want to spend money there and make sure they are a continued success. 5+ stars
