Cute place. Love the atmosphere and funky playful jazz music playing in the background. Shared the pork buns with a friend. They were unlike any I’ve had, with a crisp, golden crust. We both had the phở which was also delicious.

I tried phở for the first time last night and fell! The taste… I didn’t know that I liked broths and soups so much! After eating my phở, I felt full and satisfied… Just right; I had energy to finish out my night without feeling extra stuffed – similar to how I feel after eating vegan meals. The whole thing… I don’t have a complaint at all about my phở! I’m going to be a regular customer.(I haven’t necessarily been a fan of foods that work like«detoxes» but I think THAT may be changing as well. Just go home after you eat it.) Oh, yeah! The service! I caught’em on a good day – the day before St. Patrick’s Day – they gave out shots of Jameson! The servers were all very polite and one in particular was Grade A from the door! If you like mojitos, make sure to try the Sangoil(?) Mojito! It started my phở experience off WELL!

My husband and I come here whenever we are in the area; this has become one of our favorite dinner spots — We absolutely love the phở(I go for the seafood and he goes for the beef) and their house broth is amazing! Spring rolls are delicious as well! Staff is always kind and quick to serve.

Been here once for Phở to go. They had my phở ready before the quoted time. Lots of people sitting at the bar at about 3pm, more than I would have thought for the time. The meat cooked within the hot broth as I went home. Best Phở I’ve had in KC. Will be back for sure.

A great phở, some seasonal specials are a must try, and great atmosphere! The food… I really like the phở broth here, better than you’ll find at most KC locations. They do a special mixed phở bowl(phở dac biet), but its not always listed on the menu. I’ve tried a few other dishes, but this is my go to item here. They also do seasonal crawfish and crab, so check their little whiteboard/blackboard on the bar before you order. The venue… a convenient location with great hours. Most of the rivermarket phở places are closed by mid evening, but iPho Tower is open much later. It’s also got a very modern interior which is great for nights out. Overall… definitely worth a few visits. I’m sure it’ll become a quick regular of yours if you like phở.

Fun atmosphere. The phở was buy one get one free Wednesday night with purchase of any two drinks… What a deal! My husband had green tea & I had a lovely glass of red Cab. Phở was clean & fresh tasting– so satisfying. Carrots were so fresh & yummy. The owner was incredibly friendly & offered us a free shot on our way out. What a GREAT experience!

I’ma BIG fan! Had a wonderful lunch here with my bestie. The Vietnamese/French fusion is awesome and creative. The Phở was delicious! My curry was spicy and awesome and so were the little spring rolls. Service was good. Server was polite and the food didn’t take long to come. I saw many things on the menu I’d like to try. It was a relaxing experience and I love the idea of the French fusion. We will definitely be back.

I know Phở is quick but the service here was fast food fast. Our bowls of combination Phở came out in less than 10 minutes of ordering. And the food went fast too, into our stomachs. Very delicious and affordable. I would come back again.

The food here is so wonderful, prices very reasonable and service amazing. We came here twice. Once before a ChVrches show(to watch the Royals game) and regretted having just eaten and promised ourselves we’d come back and try their food. The second time was after some really weird psychedelic show. So the food, we ordered the calamari and was shocked that it was so large. Not sure if this is a good or a bad thing, as I am not a calamari aficionado. It was very tasty, so that’s a plus. My wife ordered the seafood phở and loved it. She had recently fallen in love with Ramen Bowls in Lawrence, but found herself with a new love of her Asian cuisine after this visit. I personally got the beef vermicelli which I think personally is a better meal, but my wife completely disagrees. The bonus is when the server(owner?) brought out the beef phở broth. It was super tasty and honestly I’ve been dreaming of it ever since. He told me the broth for the phở is boiled for 24 hours from the finest ingredients, and I believe him. The only drawback of my entire experience is having to deal with the server(owner?) wearing an Astro’s hat. He was so terribly nice, and having beat him in the ALDS I decided I could overlook this. Come here and try iPho Tower! Go Royals!

I tried iPho Tower on a rainy evening late in November. It was basically a long hallway with tables on either side and a lounge area in the back. My waiter was wearing a backward-facing ball cap, which seemed a bit casual, but he seemed friendly. I ordered the fried shrimp rolls and the seafood phở. The shrimp rolls were excellent and came with a clear citrus dipping sauce that perfectly complimented them. The seafood phở, however, came out in a spicy red broth. I dislike spicy, and it hadn’t been indicated on the menu as such. I called this to their attention, however, and asked if the contents of the soup could be added to a different type of broth. In a few minutes my phở was back in a lovely chicken broth, flavorful and delicious. It came in a big bowl with good-sized shrimp, imitation crab, fish pieces, broccoli, and noodles. It was served with a plate of fresh cilantro, basil, bean sprouts, sliced jalapeños(which I didn’t use), and a lime wedge. Very satisfying and delicious. It wasn’t low-priced, though. The shrimp rolls were $ 6.95, and my phở was $ 10. They did have some lunch and happy hour specials which were quite reasonable, though. The food is certainly worth going back, but due to the price I’d probably go for lunch or Happy Hour.

Phở real, it’s delicious! Large portions, flavorful, great price. You should go! Our group of four enjoyed the meal but we’re kind of disappointed with the service. It won’t stop us from returning next time though. Bathrooms definitely needed some upkeep, but that is my pet peeve. Two of us got the Phở(beef and veggie) both hearty and good. Two of us got the Vermacilli which was also flavorful and great!

IPhoTower is a Vietnamese restaurant near KU med that offers a range of vegetarian options, from phở to vermicelli to banh mi sandwiches. I was in a bit of a rush to get to the airport on Labor Day. The friend taking me to the airport and I stopped in for dinner before I flew out. I ordered the fried tofu and the vegetarian phở. The fried tofu was not good: it was hardly fried, didn’t have any kind of coating or seasoning, and came with a dipping sauce that was a bit odd. I think I ate it for the protein, because right now I’m trying to bulk, you know? My physical goal is to get mad gains in the gym, and I need protein to do that. Jokes aside, my friend and I finished the plate. The vegetarian phở had a tasty broth. I really enjoyed the noodles, broccoli, and carrots. The tofu was bad: it was just cubed tofu put in broth, so no change in texture, no seasoning, etc. The restaurant is a bit bizarre. What letters do you capitalize in IPhoTower? Is it iPhotower? iPhoTower? Iphotower? Why is Drops of Jupiter playing… did someone snag my high school Pandora stations? Why is that DJ party light flashing into the corner? Who just dimmed the lights? What is that huge entertainment space in the back of the restaurant?

I was in need of some Phở, as I was sick and wanting broth. I am interning nearby and was excited to try it out. I walked in, and ordered two Phở bowls to-go. They allow you to choose any amount of meats for the same price(I think it was $ 9). As I was waiting, the staff person brought me some water, which I appreciated. I probably waited about 10 minutes, and was on my way. The Phở was packed very tightly, which was also appreciated, no spillage at all! I arrived home and dug in. The phở broth was delicious and the meat was tender. I will definitely order from here again, and look forward to exploring the rest of the menu!

Our steak phở was really great! I enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients. We really didn’t get anything that was particularly French at the restaurant. I highly recommend the Phở compared to other Vietnamese places nearby. The atmosphere was down-to-earth and very friendly. Their prices were very reasonable. It was about $ 9 for phở. And you had enough to take home. I highly recommend it if you’re in the area and craving good phở.

iPho Tower makes a great bowl of phở and has some of the best happy hour food at reasonable prices. I’d heard good things about iPho tower from the food critics on KCUR, so I added it to my list of places I wanted to try out and get a bowl of phở. I arrived in advance of Mrs. R and grabbed a table. At 4:00 the place was pretty open and had plenty of tables to get a seat. I gave the happy hour menu a quick once-over and decided that we would start by splitting a banh mi and the grilled pork rolls. Both were great, and had I not had my heart set on getting a bowl of phở, I probably could have stopped there and been very satisfied. The grilled pork rolls were very flavorful and came with a side of a dipping sauce, and the combination of the two was delicious. The pork banh mi was also a very well-put-together sandwich and came on a great chewy baguette. My only regret is that the KCUR food critics had mentioned that it was great with the crawfish sauce, but our waitron told us that they didn’t have the sauce on Monday or Tuesday, so I’ll have to go back another time to sample it. The phở is a real treat. As I understand the menu, the phở is a single price, but you have your choice of adding steak, brisket, chicken, meatballs, shrimp and/or vegetables into it under that price. I opted for going with only the steak. The steak option is also a little special, as what is added to the phở is apparently raw or very rare steak, sliced razor thin, and then it «cooks» in the boiling hot broth. What you get is a great phở with perfectly-done thin slices of beef. And, as with most phở places, the bowl of phở is gigantic. It’s also accompanied with a small plate of accoutrements, including basil, hot peppers, lime wedges, and bean sprouts. When I started in on it, I thought I might have to take some home after filling up on the pork rolls and banh mi, but I also realized that leftover phở is not nearly the same as freshly-prepared phở, so I powered through the entire bowl. I was over full, but very happy, and not regretful that I had eaten so much. I look forward to stopping in at iPho tower when I am in the area again, and though I will probably repeat my mistakes of getting the banh mi, and the pork roll, and phở, and eating too much, I still won’t regret it.

iPho Tower is part Vietnamese, a dash of French and a whole heaping of international nightclub vibe. Their quality food and unique menu makes it a win in my book. I’ll admit when I first heard about a French/Vietnamese fusion I thought, «Jack of all trades, master of none.» Then I saw the positive reviews come rolling in and I changed my ways — I figured everyone must be on to something here. I wish I could say I sat and tried everything and lingered, but my buddy and I were heading to a concert and had to make short work of our meals. I tried the meat combo phở which has meatballs, steak and tripe. I politely asked them to hold the tripe as I’ve tried that before and it’s most-assuredly not for me. They brought it out as part of it anyways and told me to try it, that I might like it. I’m far from a picky eater, I’ll eat anything at least once, but like I said, I’ve been down that tripe road before and it’s not one I’ll ever take again. The phở was flavorful and packed with veggies and meat. I’ve had phở before that’s mainly broth, and that’s definitely not the case here. My friend had a vermicelli veggie dish with a peanut sauce and it looked insanely fresh and good. It’s a good concept, despite my initial reaction, and I’m definitely planning to come back to try some more hearty options that they’ve got on the menu.

Their banh mis are delicious! I got their house special which has a variety of meats in it, mmm. The other banh mis around town can be hard and chewy at times, I like their bread more. They had crawfish available on weekends when in season and it’s delicious and seasoned well. It’s like ~$ 9 per lb which is a lot more than I’m used to. They also had a special of blue crabs 2 for $ 3. I did try their phở tai one time and the meat came out completely cooked instead of raw which was a bummer! Unbeknownst to us they were having an event so our server was missing most of the time and we had to flag her down each time we needed something. The check came and then she disappeared for so long that we just asked another server to run it.

If I were rating just on the food that I’ve had here, I’d give it a 5. The service is definitely lacking whenever I’ve dined here so I’ve got to take it down a notch. This is definitely a very yummy and great looking place to go to. I like that it’s not crazy expensive. I am looking forward to dining in when it’s not so cold. Depending on where you sit, the door opening sends a killer breeze your direction. Overall, here’s my food ratings: Spring Rolls — 5 — LOVE the peanut sauce. Shrimp vermicelli noodle stir fry — 5 — delish and a huge portion Shrimp rice plate — 5 — if you’re a rice person, they give you a great portion with stir fry as well. Fried Shrimp — 5 — I only had one when I dined with my good friend a few weeks ago but I could eat a whole platter. YUM! Check it out… but come at a time when you don’t have a huge time crunch! :)

When everything closes at 10PM in Kansas City, what do you do? Well, you can hang out a bars that open later or try to get some sushi & rolls @ Nara or you can drive a bit out to iPHO Tower. Why? It’s because they are just awesome. I wished I was there on the weekend to eat, drink and sing my heart out with the cool people of iPho Tower. We called around 10:30PM to see if they were still open and the owner agreed to open beyond 11PM if we were coming right now. They were closing early since the business was slow during the weekday. We arrived promptly and the restaurant was closed. There was a waitress mopping the floor. I was disappointed until the owner opened the door and said, «come in. we are open for you.» Awesome. They have a full bar and we ordered some beer to chase away the bourbon and whiskey that we’ve been drinking all night. We also ordered spring rolls with shrimp only(it comes with pork also but ask for shrimp only if you are allergic to pork dishes) and 3 orders of spicy seafood PHO! BAM! What a dish. It’s somewhere between Tom Yum Goong and Phở. I wish I can describe it exactly but it’s really tasty and flavorful. I added bean sprouts and extra Siracha sauce. Definitely one of the best in town.
