Expensive for what it is but it’s the best darn heart attack in a box you will ever have. Maybe your last :)

I sadly only get to eat here once every year or two, on my too or from the airport. I really wish they would open one closer in town. I always get their beef tacos, and now that I looked at their menu a little closer I will be trying some of their very appealing appetizers, and corn dogs next time.

This is one of those places that just has your heart. You have to know what you are getting into when you go. It is a diner style atmosphere with the most delicious fried tacos. They have many other items on the menu. Most of which come from a deep fryer. Pure deliciousness but don’t go if you are health conious.

Came by on Sunday 11⁄29 at 6:15pm and they were closed. Unilocal said they were open until 8pm? WTH?

I have been eating here since I was a kid. Now that we have moved away — we make special trips to eat here. The tacos and burrito with everything are amazing. Now — my kids love eating here!

Customer service was terrible. Drive through was very long and the food is very expensive for being mediocre.

You really have to try this twice to enjoy it. The first I went, and anybody I’ve taken here, they don’t really enjoy it a whole lot. Probably because fried tacos are new to most people. The 2nd, 3rd, etc. time is a whole lot better because you know what you’re getting into. I have always just gotten the Meat & Cheese Hot(sometimes without hot, depending if I want the heartburn or not ;D), and it hasn’t failed me yet! They have decent nachos too, just fried tortillas broken up into chips, with a cheese sauce, slightly above average from what you’d expect at a fast-food place. The tacos are amazing though. Powdered cheese will get your fingers messy, but totally worth.

In a tub is good for what it is. It’s super greasy comfort food. I enjoy the tacos with powdered cheese, and the pocket burgers. I think the prices are a bit high for the quality of food you receive.

Oh! Such delicious greasy filling tacos. Eat them by the half dozen. Then follow up with ice cream.

You have to know what you’re in for when you eat here. It sounds disgusting, but once I tried it, I’ve kinda been addicted. You won’t get anything else like it anywhere. Dine in and get 5 hot tacos per adult. They’ve also got soft serve ice cream. It’s a local bragging spot, and they sell tshirts. It’s NOT Mexican food. It’s in a tub. Just get the tacos.

This is a Kansas City classic, still in business after more than 50 years(and located next to a McDonalds, which speaks volumes). The food reminds me of what«Tacos» were in the Midwest before all of the national chains moved in. I get the foodie hater vibe, but the truth is that the food here is really tasty. Highly recommended! PS: try the pocket burgers – really good!

Rosedale BBQ, Smaks, and In –a-Tub are my earlist childhood food memories of Kansas City. In-a-Tub just likes Rosedale was originally in a much smaller and dingy location yet has survived unlike Smak’s. There is not much more to be said about this scrumptious little grease pit that hasn’t been said by someone else. They use metal hair clips to hold the shell together when they deep fry the taco then add the famous powdered cheese. I always get a couple of cheese and meat tacos and a nacho tostado. I dare anyone to finish eating a nacho tastado without it collapsing into giant cheesey and saucy mess. Thats what is great about this country, we can take another country’s national dish, completely debase its appearance and add powdered cheese and call it our own. Viva In-a-Tub may you survive another 60 years!

Imagine you gently cut a cloud with a serrated blade, you squeeze a little out and pour it into a cup. You then discover this blood of the cloud is magical, it tastes of rare unicorn with a splash of sunshine, sugar, and kittens. You now have a milkshake in your hands with just the right amount of thick vanilla delight mixed with all the perfect parts of creamy cold. You then get tacos. But these aren’t your ordinary, run of the mill tacos… they are special. They know your name and what you like. You know what its like when you snuggle in your bed after a long day? You feel completed. You feel warm. Elated, even. That’s what this taco feels all the time. He is you in your bed. He wants to make you happy. He is the feeling of warm sun on a chilly day. The feeling of companionship when you pet your fur baby. When you think about your significant other and your heart feels as though it will implode on itself. It’s massive. It’s overwhelming. It’s a taco with powdered cheese stuffed with meat, beans, and toppings that you can slather with salsa. In-A-Tub is happiness.

If you grew up north of the river then you probably know this place. Its been a staple for many many years and has i think a total of three locations with a copy cat on Antioch. If you are looking for authentic then this is not the place for you. It’s neighborhood comfort food at its finest. Whether it’s a yellow powered taco, pocket burger or maybe the veggie sticks there’s something you will like. I make trips from Lee’s Summit just to eat here and its always worth it.

Gag… I’m not even sure what animal I just ate in that taco. Taco Bell is higher quality. If you’re questioning to eat here, just keep driving.

In A Tub is the best. I live in Florida now but, I came from Kansas City, Mo. I only wish we had In A Tubs down here. Those of you who have never experienced In A Tub are surely missing out. The pocket burgers, cheese tacos, meat & cheese tacos, and their sauce are to die for. God Bless In A Tub :)

If loving In-A-Tub is wrong, I don’t want to be right. Their tacos are my lover. Some people are In-A-Tub haters. I don’t understand those people, and I don’t want them near me. Yes, it’s all fried food. Yes, there is powdered cheese on the tacos. And YES– it is all wonderful and glorious! One of my favorite things about In-A-Tub is that there are lots of meat-free options. And by lots, I mean like FRIEDEVERYTHING/ANYTHING YOUCOULDEVERWANT! Every time I’ve been to In-A-Tub, I’ve waited about 5 minutes. But there’s never been a time when my food wasn’t ridiculously hot. Not even once. I’d rather wait a couple extra minutes than get old bleh food. So if you haven’t tried it, get ready for a wonderfully delicious time. If you still ‘just don’t get it’ after trying it– there’s probably no room for you in this city. Get out. You say crazy, I say passionate.

This place is similar to Taco Bell. Not authentic in any sense. Quality of food slightly better than microwavable burritos. ‘Burrito Everything’ came in a bowl covered in lettuce, onion, and chili so i had to eat it with a fork. The ‘italian steak sandwich’ looked neither italian nor like a steak. It was a deep fried peace of meat in a bun. The taste wasn’t horrible but if i wasn’t boy-cotting the illuminati i would have gone to Taco Bell and saved money.

In-A-Tub. That is all you need to say to make me happy. Tell the world my story, I’m done. But seriously, don’t judge a book by its cover because this place is the bomb. Every time I’m in Kansas City it is imperative that I stop in to get some sweet, sweet tacos with POWDEREDCHEESE. My recommendations are Hard Shells Tacos and Chili Cheese Burritos. See ya there!

You either love In A Tub or you hate it. White Castle is the same way. and both involve insanely greasy meats and questionable fried items, so I get it. I love In A Tub. My favorite hands down is the corn dog. The batter they use is the absolute best and these rival real state fair corn dogs… you can’t get this quality from something in a box(and don’t you dare even mention the sadness that is a Sonic corn dog). Anyway, being recently vegetarian, I figured my In A Tub days were at an end. Wrong! Obviously most of their fried items are vegetarian(tator tots, onion rings, corn nuggets) but could I base on meal on just fried mushrooms and tator tots? Well, yes. but I was going with colleagues… I have to look grown-up! So I asked if they could do just a bean and cheese taco. Sure! By the cashier’s tone it sounds like they would fry up just about anything on that taco for you. Previously I would usually skip the tacos and go straight for the corn dogs(they are that good), but I actually find myself really liking the bean taco. While still fried, it leaves you with a lighter feeling and the beans are filling enough you don’t even miss the meat. I think this was the way to go all along! Plus you still get your healthy dose of powdered cheese intake!
