I enjoyed shopping here. They have a nice store with decent merchandise and an unusually up to date selection of books(for a thrift store). Good daily sales and specials(check the white board up front on entry). I found several items for mere cents on the daily special and they were actually nicer items, like a name brand swimsuit and pj pants… not bottom of the barrel. I see in some of the other reviews that the store staff are all or mostly volunteers, and that helps me now to overlook how clueless they seemed at checkout time. Very chaotic and possibly still in training, but again I can overlook that. I realize thrift stores are kind of at the mercy of what is donated so although a lot of the women’s clothing and shoes were quite outdated, I do think it’s a good store overall. Plenty of parking, too.

I love this thrift store! They are very friendly and you can tell that the volunteers who work there are truly volunteering because they love to help people. Yes, the clothing tends to be dated, and mostly for older folks, but I’ve found some real gems while searching the racks. They have little boutique style rooms for certain items. One of my favorite is the dressy clothes room. If you are looking for a «little black dress» for any occasion, they keep them all one one rack. Downstairs is their basement bargains. They often do a buy one get one free sale on TV’s and other electronics. I love browsing this store! Great retail therapy! OH… the store is CLEAN! Limited parking at the Parkville location, but it always works out!

Look for $ 3 free merchandise coupons on the back of your grocery receipts. I like to collect them, then when I’m there, I’ll get my $ 3 of free stuff then pass them out to others that are shopping. I like the multi-level experience. :)

For you lifelong Northlanders who aren’t sure where this is… it’s the location that was formerly Woody’s Nightclub. First off, this isn’t, by far, the cheapest thrift store in town. The pricing on items seems very hit and miss. This is a place that you want to visit often to check back on that item you saw that you liked, was a bit overpriced, in hopes they marked it down. And the thing is, they do. I was looking for a couch off and on and they had one I liked very well, it was in excellent shape and firm, nice and clean, but the price tag was a bit steep for me. I tend to check this place out once a week or so, and lo and behold on my 3rd visit back my couch was only $ 45. I pounced, and am glad I did. It serves me well. The best way to describe this place is, the upstairs looks like a well done, nicely decorated and maintained thrift business… and the downstairs(which you can reach by stairway from upstairs or by driving to the back of the building, which I tend to do since I don’t shop the upstairs part as often) is a basement. Think. well, YOUR basement. You know… where you stick all the things you were meaning to use someday(snow shoes, that vintage 1970’s microwave, books on knitting and crocheting…) or, for those of you who don’t have a basement or don’t hoard things(and if you are thrift store shopping, and don’t think you hoard things, well, you’re probably in denial) its like the neighbors garage sale. Great stuff to be found down here, if you look. A few things I want to point out: paperback books are 3 for $ 1., which has created in me a new«thrift store book hunting» addiction. Hardbacks are $ 1 a piece. CD’s are $ 1, cassettes 50 cents… they have a growing selection of vinyl, too. Upstairs… there is a room full of books, but downstairs you will find some hidden away, too. And flatware is a nickel a piece. Nowhere else on the planet that I am aware of can you buy forks, knives, and spoons 20 for a dollar. Again, I want to stress the pricing is hit and miss on the more unique items. The staff is all volunteers, and so you have to hope the item that catches your eye wasn’t priced by that guy who used to sell stuff from garage sales on EBAY, or a former Beanie Baby collector who thinks EVERYTHING is collectible or vintage. It happens, you will see it from time to time… but there are gems here to be had if you are willing to do some digging.

I don‘t get why people are so hvped up for this Hillcrest. I have been to many other thrift stores and this one is not one of the best. Like Robin H. said it is clean and organized But the items?! they are a mix of beat up 1970‘s(not cool 70s) old beat up bikes, mix mash of holiday décor, LOTS of smalls Not such a great place but it does have extra points for being clean and organized I suggjest your check out for clothing either ReRuns Vintage Warehouse In The West Bottoms, or D.A.V. Thrift Store on North Oak Trfwy For housewares and furniture Try Urban Mining Homewares, or River Market Antiuqes

This is a fantastic store that is run by kind hearted people. I often find clothing from forever 21, American eagle, and adidas for $ 2 here. A lot of things that come in are brand new!

Hillcrest Thrift Shop is what all thrift stores should aspire to be! I literally chanced upon this place. I was on the way to the airport to fly back to Denver and drove through a town called Parkville. I saw a half closed strip mall and drove into the parking lot just looking around — sometimes places like this have used bookstores. As I went around the back of the building in the distance I saw this place and since I had sometime to kill decided to check it out. This place is neat and organized and they even used the stock to decorate the place. WOW! Off to the right side were seperate rooms with a theme for each, shoes, books, etc. In the back corner was the«General Store» with kitchen items i.e. dishes, decorations, and small appliances. Clothes were in the center of the shop and furniture to the left. Around the back of the building on the first level was the«basement bargains». When I walked in down there it was huge, this level included sports equipment and attire, electronics, home furnishings, more furniture in addition to the basement bargain room(in which everything was $ 1). I have never used the word«cute» or «quaint» to describe a thrift store but they are the perfect descriptive words. Hillcrest Thrift Store in not a boutique or vintage store. It is a thrift store run by volunteers for an organization called Hillcrest Transitional Housing which benefits local homeless and people in need. You can tell that the people that run this place are not just trying to get used stuff out the door and are really proud of the work they are doing.
