Last shopped here around the time they were moving down a floor so everything was on sale. Despite being busy they took the time to wrap everything we got well.

If you are an advocate of shopping locally, Function Junction ISYOURPLACE! The actual owners are often on the premises and every staff member I’ve encountered is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Function Junction has the canny ability to «know» which new cooking/eating items are going to be all the rage and you may well find them here first! I especially love the seasonal offerings such as Halloween, Christmas„ Patriotic, Thanksgiving and Valentines items — cupcake papers, linens, aprons and so much more. They also have a huge selection of cookie cutters — sold both individually and in sets. Many of the top-of-the-line established brands, such as Wilton, Nordic Ware, Bodum, DeLonghi, Haeger Stoneware, to name only a few, are included in the product line. Function Junction is one of my «must visit» places on every Crown Center trip! And I have found many wonderful items there over the years both for me and for Christmas or birthday gifts.

What a great store! And LOVE their staff. Joined with a group for one of their team-builder cooking classes with Mary and Rebecca. GREATFUN and even better food.

Let’s go shopping! Fun to practical, to cool to wha? And everything in between. Need an ice cream maker with a built in candy crusher? Me neither, but it is nice to know they exist. Fun bar napkins and wine totes? Sure, why not. A wine caddy in the shape of a cat? I know someone who may like that kind of shit. It’s all fun. Drop in culinary demos and now you have my attention. I get lost in places like this. I need to stop and touch everything. Yeah, the bulk of it is stuff I can certainly live without. But just knowing it is all there inspires me in the kitchen. I have my eye on the chicken beeroaster!

Every time I’m close to a Function Junction, I go in there. I don’t buy things, but I go in there. Cause they have cool stuff. Overly priced, sure, price it, and find the item somewhere else. Heck, I do that all the time. Function Junction has everything odd for your kitchen, but they aren’t Pryde’s Old Westport. Function Junction has an array of spice wracks, pepper grinders and grilling items, and if you live near this area, I can see buying items here. I live near Bed Bath and Beyond, and except for the seasoned skewers,(yummy with vegetable kabobs), I don’t know of other things to get at Function Junction. So functionally, the store hasn’t much of a purpose, but to get my curiosity up. The pepper grinders, which I need, were all above $ 20.00. I can grab a coupon for Bed Bath and Beyond, and find them for much less. But, still, I pause whenever I’m near a Function Junction. What kind of gadget do they have now? Pretty cool stuff for the kitchen. Serves a purpose.

I’m not sure where the hell this place finds some of its employees, but there is enough cool stuff in the store to negate all their dunderheads(being told they’re out of blenders when there’s one a couple feet from us, watching salespeople bicker with each other while I’m checking out). Regardless, if you need a cool, innovative kitchen utensil, small appliance, organizer and dread going to the big box centers; this place is incredible asset downtown. They’ve also expanded the shop considerably so it’s a lot more comfortable and less cramped. They’ve also got a Viking demo kitchen which opens up the possibilities on where they can go. Small cooking classes maybe?

Function Junction has two stores in KC. Both of which I’m sure I could forget with no harsh feelings. First, the shop sells Kyocera Knives? Don’t they do cell phones? I was unaware they’re in the cutlery business. Beyond that, I thought the merchandise was pretty«Wal-martized»(if you know what I mean). Function did serve up some products that I enjoyed — Caldrea and those incredibly handy, collapsible silicon colanders. On the flip side, everything else was pretty average. I was a bit spoiled by Pryde’s and now just don’t have it in me to look at kitchen stores the same again.
