I was extremely excited to try the prime rib buffet last Saturday evening. The buffet wasn’t horrible, but the overall experience probably wasn’t worth the price. The salad bar options were pretty limited; you’ll see more offerings at most other buffets. The only prime rib available when I was there was well done(at 5:30). The shrimp selection was okay. The Chinese food was actually pretty good, and the dessert options were nice. It took about 5 minutes for our waitress to get our drink order after we sat down, and then we never got refills. With better service and more prime rib options(on a night that advertises prime rib) this would have been a much better experience. I’m not sure I’d go back again.

What a disappointment and embarrassment. Disappointed in the fact I gave away $ 75.00 for inedible dried out slop for a party of 4. Embarrassed for asking guest to meet us there for dinner. When I expressed my disappointment to my waitress, her response was«Oh! Can I get you fresh coffee». Maybe coffee was the only fresh item she had to offer. When the Host at the entrance/exit thanked us for coming and told us to come back, I replied with the chances being highly unlikely after the bad experience we had all just encountered with the food quality. HELAUGHED! So it leaves me to believe the staff knows the food is inedible and they really don’t care. They will not get a 2nd chance from me, I am just hoping we all live to see morning, and no trips to the emergency room to have our stomachs pumped. PS-When the whip cream topping on your desserts has set out long enough to become a hard shell coating, THROWITINTHETRASH!

Loved it! I’ve been sevral times and I’m never disappointed. I only go on crab leg night. They always have big sweet fresh crab legs and I love the cold seafood and Oyster Bar as well. I didn’t eat anything I didn’t absolutely love. I highly recommend.

Sheesh where does one start when a buffet is so bad you wouldn’t want to put it in a landfill for fear of water table contamination. I went the the Epic(failure) buffet the evening of 9÷21÷15 on a whim when I was in the area. I checked reviews on trip advisor and they were mostly bad but also mostly from 2014 so I thought maybe the people running the buffet would have read the bad reviews and stepped up their game but it’s clear they did not. Maybe they are scared of the innernets? So I arrived with a friend at about 7:30pm prime dinner time frame and the place had maybe 6 tables seated with about 2 people at a table. First sign no one wants to eat the crap they are serving up. Pay the $ 17, go in order drinks from the booth we were sat in which wasn’t clean, food in the seats but meh no big deal just wipe the crumbs onto the floor where bottom of the barrel roaches will probably savor … or die on the food crumbs. Went to the buffet and seriously it is NOT epic. Its just laid out on this long area if you consolidated it you could fit it all on one 8ft long table. They had an asian section and the white rice was just out in the open, not in rice cooker like other casinos. It looked like mushy sorta dried oatmeal. Or more like porridge from one of those movies that is set in the 1800’s(please sir may I not have another) like even an orphan on a crutch with an empty bowl in hand would spit this crap out. The rest of the food was just stale. The breaded fried shrimp were hard. I used one to tap my glass to propose a toast at my table to possibly our last dinner alive if it didn’t kill us. The Yukon Gold mashed potatoes were actually very good. Maybe they came from a box and were just made with love. I don’t know but it’s the only thing I had 2 servings of because I better get my damn $ 17 worth of food. The rolls were dry and hard. I saw them put«fresh» rolls out when I went for round 2 of my $ 17 worth of Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and they were dry again. Freezer burned. At this point I gave up on having a nutritional dinner since I was filling up on mashed potatoes and croutons… I mean dinner rolls. So I thought I would tear up the dessert bar which… is a total monnet. from a distance it looks good but up close it was a big mess(Thanks Alicia Silverstone in Clueless) I persevered and grabbed a chocolate silk slice of pie… How do I describe this… Have you ever had an alcoholic aunt who went grocery shopping for food ONCE in the 90’s and just froze everything and thaws it out(over the years) when company comes over? That pretty much describes the desserts at the Epic-Failure buffet. Overall kids lessons to be learned here… 1. the buffet is $ 17 on a weeknight 2. the food is not good, nor fresh, nor flavorful 3. the atmosphere is sad… just sad. They should put happy pills in the water glasses so you don’t feel like you’re dining in someones dark sex dungeon with terrible drapes and carpet. 4. read these reviews and trust peoples experiences in these places. 5. my friend had sushi from the«sushi bar» and got bad cramps and the next day it was poonami 2015(never forget) Epic-failure buffet you will never see me again but you’ve earned this riveting review kudos to you for giving my friend the best colon cleanse of 2015 and for making me rethink McDonalds as the worlds worst tasting food.

Came to celebrate a birthday and brought a birthday cake. Got stopped at the door for the expensive cake — can’t bring it inside. Bummer. The phở was really good and a decent selection of Asian Italian American food.

I feel like if you are coming out of jail or prison and your body isn’t quite ready for regular food, this would be a good intermediate point for you. The food is really not appetizing at all. They had some type of cajun shrimp pasta and the shrimp could have been taken out of a Cup Noodles. Two of them could fit on my fingernail. Where do you even buy such a thing? Can’t they let the shrimp grow up? The crab legs smell gross. The rolls are soaking wet. The fried chicken is edible, but they never have drumsticks. The pizza is overly greasy. Ice cream machine broken. Price is $ 30 a person.

The experience started bad, with the long walk thru a smoke filled Casino floor. $ 29.99 per person, for crab legs! Crab was good, clam strips inedible, chicken and crab Rangoon dried out, boiled shrimp over spiced, non working ice cream machine! The staff, however, were fantastic! Somebody needs oversee the cooking! This was our first and last trip to this buffet! gmted

Golden Corral has better food than this and a hell of a lot cheaper too. I’ve been 3 times and was disappointed each time. Not ever going back. Ugh.

This buffet is awful! I have been there several times and mostly end up eating salad. Food is cold and taste like nursing home food. Way overpriced for the quality of the food. I have been to Argosy buffet several times and Argosy is delicious. Hollywood needs to learn from them.

Waited 15 minutes in line on Friday night to get in for the prime rib buffet. The prime rib was severely over cooked. They finally brought out one that wasn’t burnt, but it still had no flavor. The food is cafeteria quality. The desserts are something you would see at a $ 8 chinese buffet. It does look nice inside and the server was great but the food just lacking in each section. Definately skip this buffet and check out the one at harrahs.

Whoa! That was good. So far, one of my favorite buffet experiences. The crab salad was delicious… in fact many of the salads were delicious. I ate so much salad, I barely had room for the entrees. The fried chicken was great, flan was amazing, loved their little mini pies. We were just there for a weekday lunch. I can’t even imagine how great it must be at night. Very comfortable seating. Our server could have been more attentive. He seemed to busy visiting with some of his friends who were there and flirting with another server that he kept sneaking up on and pinching and stuff like that. This was like a 40 year old guy, you kind of don’t expect that behavior from an adult.

Edit Lisa D. 2÷14÷2013 Epic FAIL with this buffet! All food was lukewarm and not tasty at all. Bland! We will not be back for the food. What a waste if such great scenery with the racetrack there!

FORLOBSTERBUFFETDAYINFOONLY: Update to my previous review, this past week I arrived I was upset by a couple of changes to the lobster buffet lineup. First, in the beginning Hollywood had oysters on a half shell and crawfish as part of the buffet, even on lobster day. But this January 2013 visit I find out that they moved the oysters onto their Sunday crab legs and seafood buffet day, I didn’t ask about the crawfish. Secondly, I noticed a minor size difference on the lobsters that were coming out, I feel like the tails shrunk by ¼ of what was being served last year. Finally, I never stumbled on this prior due to being so so full, but this time around I found not only can I use the butter for the tails but a sweet find was the lobster bisque soup. Yes it’s a soup, but went so well as a flavorful dip for the lobster tails. Eat on, enjoy, and don’t overstuff yourself. If you do, someone told me take a shot of Tequila to bring the full bloat stuffed feeling down. But since I can’t drink Tequila, guess you will have to try and let me know. :)

I love lobster and heard they had special Lobster night on Wednesdays. Five of us(birthday group) decided to give it a try. Wonderful. All the lobster you can eat for a very reasonable price. I had four. And enjoyed everyone of them. Our waiter went to the bar to get us Bloody Mary’s. Every kind of shrimp was available. Lobster salad. Great bread pudding. Fried fish, broiled fish, cajun style fish. I am a small person — but if I went back very often I might not be. Wonderful.

Eat here only if you hate your life This is the absolutely worse food I have had at any casino in my entire life. For $ 29.99 for«seafood night» you would of thought there would have been some effort in creating good food. Horrible, absolute horrible. I under stand that crappy steamed crab legs will grab you a crowd but seriously, I have had better food at $ 6.99 all you an eat Chinese buffet. The food was cold, bland, tasteless. Seemed like 80% of the food choices were deep fried crap that had been sitting out since 7am(we ate around 5pm) I understand the gamble out on the casino floor but didn’t realized I was going to get robbed in the buffet. The entire management staff should be fired and a hunt for a new management staff that would actually give a crap about their job should be hired. You know how to fix this? Make the casino upper management eat at this disgusting place, oh and make them realize they are paying $ 30 apiece to eat this mediocre garbage.

It’s still my birthday week at this time and we’re all jonesing for something good to eat but something NOT boring and it’s getting late(it’s Saturday night)…and all of a sudden the three of us thought… damn SAMN! We live here in the Dotte and we STILL haven’t been out to the Hollywood Casino! LEZGO! So we piled into the Camry and we blew down I-70 like Hollywood Swingers! The casino is gorgeous and easily accessible. We were pleasantly greeted at the Epic Buffet entrance and seated, drink orders taken and off we went to ravage the food stations. Chinese, Seafood, Italian, Pizza, American, salads, dessert… we piled it up and it was delicious. Now look, I know there are a lot who turn that nose up at the very utterance of Bu…(they will not even wait for the rest of the word… FAY…). They won’t do buffets and that’s fine. So, for the rest of you normal folks who love a variety of foods, the Epic is pretty cool. There were only a few things for which I didn’t care. The chicken burrito or enchilada or whatever it was pretending to be? NASTY! The pizza was fresh and flawless. The fried chicken was acceptable. The mashed potatoes and gravy acceptable. Nice shrimp. Great salad bar. Delicious Italian. Nice vegetables. Prime rib was flawless. I could go on… but I won’t. I was pleased with this visit and we will be back again. We all LOVED it. And… it’s in our ‘hood!

Well, the windows give you a panoramic view of the race track. The spiced shrimp is deveined. A rarity, it seems. So, I can appreciate that. They have soft pretzel breadsticks that I could live on until I became morbidly obese. Pretty good selection of desserts. A strawberry fudge that was pretty good. Chinese food, pizza, tacos, meat and potato stuffs, salad bar. Nothing too fancy… no crab legs… and really for the price, they should have a main attraction. The prime rib just wasn’t cutting it. I would say this is the smallest casino buffet I have experienced in KC. Most of it was salad and dessert. Oh and and they ran out of my beverage: cranberry juice… I found that odd. Besides the Soft Pretzel breadsticks… unremarkable.

For the price paid, there are cheaper and better buffets out there. The facility is clean(of course it just opened). But before you got to the restaurant you had to walk past the casino full of smokers! Forget about washing your hair that day! The staff were friendly but the food was less than mediocre. The sushi looked delicious and authentic judging from the sushi chef behind the glass counter– what with those oriental features(I’m not being a a racist here as I am one) till I had my first bite and realized they were best used as chips on a Chinese Checkers board game! The phở soup was probably the freshest item, the General Tso chicken was passable and the rest were forgettable. Will definitely not give it a second chance.
