The margaritas were excellent and the salsa oh so yummy but dont go with a piece of crap date. They will ruin the entire experience. Other than that yes I will return.

Probably the best cheap Mexican in KC. Very good prices, along with quantity to back it up. I would suggest a margarita on the rocks, Chorizo cheese dip, and baja chicken tacos. You WON’T be disappointed.

One of my coworkers has been telling me about this place and for a good 6 months, I kept forgetting about going. Now that I’ve been, I’m sold. I wish they sold their salsa by the bottle, because if they did, my house would be stocked full of it. The service is great. The food is terrific. I’m so happy to have a great restaurant so close to my house! When we are craving Mexican, this will be my new go-to spot… actually, that sounds good for tonight! *Edit: They DO sell their salsa!

So the bf and I have begun a quest to find the best fajitas in kc. Usually we head to the Blvd, but last night decided to try this«hidden gem»(?). It was all very meh; we started with the queso fundido and you could taste the alcohol used to light it on fire. I got the dos de oros fajitas and was charged an additional $ 2 to sub mushrooms for onions, which was troubling because in my experience vegetable subs should always be free. They tasted OK, but there was almost too much going on in the dish to really enjoy it. He got one of the alambres plates, which looked good-essentially like fajitas cooked with rice. Overall, it was pricey for what it was. I think we’ll stick to the Blvd from now on.

We have gone to the location across the street before but decided to try the restaurant. Service was a little slow, it appeared there was only one waitress but not bad. We were there for noon at about 12:30. The food was outstanding. We ordered the lunch special, tamales and the 3 cheese enchiladas and split the items between us. Needless to say we were quite full. The margaritas were good as well. Gave 4 stars because of the slow service. Will certainly come back.

If you live anywhere near Kansas City this is the only place for Authentic Mexico food. It looks like a little hole in the wall but it delivers great meals! We love the daily specials and often get the HUGE burritos. They have some delicious horchata that we cant pass up.

This place rules. The chips and salsa are perfect. Their margaritas are easily in my top 3 favorite(probably number 2 after el patron) Their serving sizes for the lunch specials kill it and it’s very reasonable. I live on the boulevard in West Crossroads and frequently visit the Mexican restaurants in that area. I freakin love all the boulevard has to offer but I can honestly say this place is on the top of my list for Mexican in KC. Way to go Martin City

The taco shells looked like they were soaked in too much oil and they were stingy on the cheese. So I don’t recommend the«crunchy tacos» but if you get them ask for extra cheese.

Sunday afternoon lunch for 4. We had Caldo de Mariscos, Carnitas and Chicken Alambres. Very tasty. The staff was friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

I’ve been to this restaurant many times over the years. I have never selected it myself, but have been invited to various celebrations here and this was the case at my most recent visit to Dos de Oros. The thing that is most memorable about this restaurant is the service. The people here have always been incredibly friendly and service is always fast. It’s truly a stand out from that perspective. But unfortunately, the atmosphere is a bit dark and dingy and the food? Well, it’s just ok at best. Although I’ve been here many times, I never remember from one time to the next what I had at the previous visit. The food just isn’t memorable for me. But I understand there are a lot of people who love this place and the people I was with were raving about it. So I think this may be just the right place for some people, just not me. During my recent visit, I selected the camarones a la diabla based on the recommendation of my friends. It was supposed to be a spicy shrimp fajita dish based on their description and the menu. The serving was big but it was mostly rice and beans on my plate with a small scoop of guac on some shredded lettuce and a lot of a tomato and onion based sauce with a few large shrimp swimming in it. I ordered it mainly because it was supposed to be spicy, but overall, there was very little flavor at all and not much heat. The tomato sauce overwhelmed the flavor of the shrimp which were overcooked and rubbery. The beans tasted like they were scooped directly out of the can with no seasoning added. It was served with three small tortillas wrapped in foil that had obviously been sitting around for too long as they were stuck together like glue, rubbery and dry around the edges. I also had a tropical margarita. It had a nice coconut-y flavor, but very little alcohol. Fortunately, the price was right at only 4.50. This is yet another restaurant where I wouldn’t object to going back if friends really wanted to go, but I would never suggest it.

Two words: TACOTUESDAY. Who can pass up $ 1 tacos? That’s the only thing I’ve had there so I can’t say much but it’s definitely a yummy place to stop by the hot sauces are so good including their salsa Verde and an avocado sauce. The service could be friendlier but don’t let that steer you away.

Nothing extraordinary stands out of their menu, but if you are craving Mexican food, this isn’t a bad place to stop by for a sit-down grab! It can get busy and bustle-y, so be aware. Cheerful service awaits!

This place is what I have been looking for in KC! I was told the Mexican food is amazing in KC and before Dos De Oros I was really doubting the claim(I have probably tried 10 other Mexican joints in and around the KC area). We aren’t meat eaters but eat seafood so I had the blackened fish dish the waitress recommended and my husband had shrimp fajitas. Both meals came on a sizzling platter filled with grilled vegetables and a separate large plate with rice/beans/guac/sourcream/salsa. Of course the meal started with endless chips and salsa. The waitress was very friendly and on top of everything. To make it even better they had a singer who was actually quite talented in that night which really made for a nice ambiance. The only negative and I can’t mark down for this is the 3.99 margarita — tasted like basically margarita mix and bad tequila. I didn’t finish it. I should have went for the higher grade booze!

When I want great hole-in-the-wall Mexican, I head to Dos De Oros. I’ve been coming here for over 4 years and I know it’s always going to be great food. Must haves are the Queso Fundido(Flaming Cheese), the Shrimp and Avocado Salad, any of the Alambres, and the Fish Tacos. And their margaritas are yummy, which honestly, when you want hole-in-the-wall Mexican you NEED a good drink! Oh… ask for their hot salsa. You’re sinuses will thank you!

This is the first Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in KC. Honestly, I’m here for bbq but after two nights in a row I thought something different was in order. The place was packed with people waiting outside So my expectations were high. My food arrived and it looked fantastic. However, it looked better than it tasted. Now it didn’t taste bad but I was expecting more. It’s not the best Mexican I’ve had but it was good. The portions were fine. The service was good. Overall, I would recommend it and don’t think you’ll be too disappointed.

Lovely service, delicious food, and family friendly. Their Tex-Mex dishes are very good, but their authentic Mexican dishes shine! Try the Tortas– the Alambres– and their Carnita’s are just like my Abuelita used to make. The breakfast menu is fantastic– very different from what you would get elsewhere. The Chilaquiles is a great breakfast! The staff are friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. And it’s a GREAT value!
